I am actually warming to Phillips coming in - if the cost is right for us.
He does have all the tools to do well in a Dyche midfeild and improve us. I think Dyche's working class ethics and mentality will suit him far better than working under Pep.
I know he was poor during his West Ham stint, but he was going there very low on form and confidence, no game time under his belt in to a new team plus notible relocation to London. You have little time to adjust on a 6months loan, and not uncommon for these types of moves to fall flat on there face. You need that little bit of luck to hit the ground running in your first two or three performances to get up to speed with your new team mates.
I think all players deserve a proper 10-12 games grace to find their feet and rhythem in a new team and squad (and I mean playing 60min plus per game). Phillips not had that at either City or West Ham - I think Phillips loss of form etc, is more a function of change in environments and lack of prolonged oppertunities to play more than overnight simply turned in to a really shit player.
If we can bank around £50m for Onana (who was left out of most of the run in games), then I think Phillips could adequately fill that gap in the squad for the next 12 months.
Our revenue steams are going to change significantly for the better after this coming season, so this season is going to be a bit of a sticking plaster.
I think we are all in agreement that a Dyche pre-season will probably do wonders for the lad. If he flurished in a hard working Bielsa environment, then Dyche's requirements will be much closer to this than Pep's will ever be.

Lyon owner John Textor want to sell off 'non-core assets to focus on football' - beleive club is to physical asset heavy and inviting bids for 40% or full control of their new LDLC arena multi purpose venue. (note - it is not their football stadium).
Also talk of listing clubs as a public companies.

Some people seem to have short memories - anyone remember how we struggled to score goals and almost got relegated when he was injured? Comes back properly and gets a decent run, and we're no longer pulling our hair out trying to figure out htf we score goals.
If you can't score goals, you can't win games, simple as.

West Ham were stupid to get a player in mid season who needed a precseason to be the player he was for Leeds.  Has had issues with shoulder injury.

if he is fully recovered and gets a full pre season and the money is right then it could be a great move.

Hope this comes off. I said at the time he made the move that it reeked of "Danny drinkwater" - not comparing the players but the situations - the hero at a smaller club, move to a so called giant club and barely plays.

not that we could afford him, but he's far to good to go to Saudi.
I'd take Richy and Hojberg off Spurs hands for Onana!!!
Richy in his pomp for the final season at Goodison!!.

I would say at 5-7M euro's he's in our price range. Very strong on set pieces and crossing, so would suit our style nicely.

He was garbage at Spurs, ear marked as one of there worst signing ever.
but gutted if sold Jarrad and bought Sanchez with a good chunk of the money.
just as well sticking Keane or Godfrey  on the pitch.

it also looks much better on the club generally if players choose to sign new contract and stay with us.
Two historical Everton seasons coming up. Last season at Goodison and first Season a BMD. never to be repeated. I would like to hope DCL has enough blue blood to understand that he would have the opportunity to  be a big part of that history. Somebody's going to score the last goal at Goodison and first at BMD.

I can't disagree with those listed - performance wise.
A couple of massive moments stick out form me, which I though impacted our season massively, Onana's pen miss that saw us go out of the League Cup, that was the start of our really bad run, and the second was Newcastle having a second goal disallowed when we went to there place(pressure was building massively by then), we went on to get a equalizer in that game, and the game after got the massive win over Burnley to end the non-winning streak (yes, I know Burnley was a shit performance).
Chelsea thrashing also seemed to be a bit of a watershed moment. With hindsight, getting beaten up that day did us a massive favour as it seem to give everybody the kick up the backside needed - been excellent since.

If we've got any money to spend this summer we should be getting back in for Gnonto now that they're staying in the Championship.

if DCL has aspirations of playing for England, his best bet would be staying with us.
one of the first names in the starting line up, with the whole team and tactics playing to your strengths.
elsewhere he might just be a plan B, to try and be more direct at the end of a game.
I agree he's worth far more to us, than maybe another team would pay at this very moment
come on Diom, get a new contract signed.

With a few more games behind him he would've been. He'd pretty much nailed down the Kane understudy role at his best, but has fallen behind Watkins, Toney and Solanke...worth a hell of a lot more than £25m imo, would be a steal at that price.

Hardest player to replace in this squad in my opinion. I think he’s hugely underrated- I know he’s had injuries and lean spells this season but I think, when fit, he’s top class. I’m surprised he’s not in the England training squad personally.

The worry with selling DCL isn't so much him leaving, it's the hole he'll leave. He is the perfect forward for Dyche and the way we play. I'd be very cautious about being confident that we'd adequately replace him with not very much money at all.
And replace him we would need to do because Beto isn't very good and Chermiti is raw to say the least. We could sign the lad from Luton but I do not want him as first choice at all.

Is the way to do that to rub it in their faces though? You might not think that's what you're doing but it comes across very much like "I was right and you were wrong ner ner". Does it make you feel better that you were right? Because I don't feel any better about it.
The way to get people on board and to make things better for the clubs future isn't to "attack" and alienate. As corny as it sounds we need to come together, don't we? What happened in the past is gone, nothing we can do about it now.

Does it really do any good to speak about all of this again? To point fingers again?
Mistakes, big ones, were made in the past. You know I've been on board with a lot of what you've said about Billy Bullshit and his shenanigans, Haf. But I don't see the point in blaming and having a go at anyone that hasn't been. Some people only care about what happens on the pitch, some people believed the lies, some didn't agree with the way the likes of the BU went about things (like Matt), others just don't get into it.
Yes it's fucking terrible what's happened to our club but dragging it up over and over and using it against people does no good. We're all Evertonian's that want the best for the club and want improvement.

    I fucking hope not.
I don't think a single fan now wants 777 Partners anywhere near the club. I gave them the benefit of the doubt a couple of months ago, and thought any owner has to be better than Moshiri to get this club on its feet again. I was wrong, as all we have seen from 777 is more and more red flags.
Are we really going to be relying on this season nemesis, the PL, to save us from their clutches. What a weired fucking season!!
