nutmegwolf203 reacted to MikeO in Marco Silva
Yeah lets bring in the failed manager who was in the chair for Sunderland when we beat them 7-1, just what we need.

Second was a really nice move and I’ll glad that gilfi has been dropped to see what Bernard and iwobi could do

Just the usual shite. How he’s had money blah blah and the pressures on. Calling him Mr Silva🤷🏼♂️. Nothing remarkable I just hate him and can’t believe he managed us 😡

Can any Watford fan really blame him for leaving? Garcia gets them to a cup final and their best league finish I believe and then gets sacked after five games? Madness

nutmegwolf203 got a reaction from StevO in Moise Kean
He’s both!
Let’s not excuse his behavior and the apathy of his two colleagues during the whole thing; he had no business speaking about a player’s character, especially without any research. That’s how cycles continue. Souness always has a specific tone and use of language when he speaks about black players. I can see it from a mile away because it’s familiar. Not listening or being dismissive is unhelpful and allows people to fall back on the claim that “I didn’t realize” or say things like “sorry to those that were offended by my comments”.
It’s all cyclical bullshit.

Ambition? Self respect? Pride? Faith in your own ability?

Why bring Adebayor up? What has his transfer got to do with kean? The fact is the lead presenter and the producers behind the scene never corrected it. As soon as I watched it I was fuming. Talksport did an hour on racism and a journalist brought it up and said it was a disgrace.

DCl will be massive for us this season in one way or another. I’m like you shukes I think he is best off the bench when the back four are tiring because he can do a bit of everything

I posted this on the match day forum before the game. I was fuming, mostly because it was just a lazy inept thing to say. What made it worse was that the lead broadcaster didn’t correct him and say well he wouldn’t sign a contract because he wanted to play football. To us in the know at Everton we know different but to anyone else watching they have him down as a trouble maker etc. That’s totally unfair. If these presenters want to sit there with there thousand pound suits and sparkling white teeth then do the research before you spout shit. Souness could have brought up a comparison with a hundred footballers that were sold. But he brought up a player from a decade ago that has no relevance to kean only that he was black and had dreadlocks.

If you're being paid millions to play for my club you'd better have some fire in your belly!
His work ethic and determination allow me to overlook his tantrums. Maybe it's not everyone's take on it but I think the negativity in him reflects upon himself, he wants to be the best and works hard in order to do so. If he isn't the best he isn't happy.

A point off third place after four games, equal with Arsenal and ahead of United, Spurs and Chelsea despite the non-thriller at Villa isn't a bad base to work from. I'm excited and optimistic!

Kean is getting used to the speed of the game give him a break. He’s a kid paying against three big centre halves. I thought he did fine.

By no means a perfect performance, we had to battle and overcome our own mess ups (much more so than Wolves being an actual threat to us). But we did overcome them and it’s good that we can battle our way through when we need to.
Would’ve preferred not to have my heart tested like that but it was important that we showed character.

Repainted cabin in the garden in recent days (actually Josh did 99% of it) but added the finishing touch earlier!

Souness chatting shut about kean. Saying that he must be a bad apple cos juve sold him at 19. Presenter didn’t correct him or say he only had a year on his contract left. Prick

Thought DCL was a good option to come on, won a lot of flick ons.
Great game of football that. Good to see us attacking well. 5th for now!

What's in a name? History, identity, the story of who you are and how you came to be:
'The club was initially a cricket team named The Wednesday Cricket Club after the day of the week on which they played their matches. The footballing side of the club was established to keep the team together and fit during the winter months. SWFC was born on the evening of Wednesday 4 September 1867 at a meeting at the Adelphi Hotel in Sheffield.'
As far as the game itself goes, I see this being a real test for us and will show the character of players. Will be interesting to see who shows up and who goes missing in this one.

A draw away would be a good result at home we should expect to beat most teams and that’s the mindset the squad have to have.
Pickford
coleman. Keane. Mina. God
Delph. Gomes
charly. Iwobi. bernie
Kean
wolves I think normally play a back five. They play some good football in the midfield but have nobody with blistering pace until Traore comes on. At home id like us to go and smash teams. Clean sheets are great but at the end of the day it’s who scores more goals than the other. Maybe a bit to attacking but you don’t know if you don’t try it

Those two give us a completely different dynamic. Fast and direct! Can’t wait to see them in a few weeks when both are settled and confident.
To be fair Iwobi is already used to this league and has settled faster, but that’s to be expected.

nutmegwolf203 reacted to Wiggytop in Lincoln (Carabao Cup Away) Wednesday August 28th
Those three up front would give us good pace and they can all play across the line, could give defenders a nightmare as they wouldn't know who's playing where, I'd really like us to try this formation.
