Good!!! About time it all changed, we havnt won anything for years for a reason. I dont want the club to lose its soul (so to speak) but we have needed a ruthless manager for years. This was always a year to set the foundation, 7th maybe 6th up for grabs and really push on next year. so if things are going to change it needs to be this year. better players attract better players and bring the best out of other players on the pitch and in training. this is all positive.

Im fairly sure that we will sign at least one more. I think its positive that its gone quiet. Means that we have started to do business behind the scenes to keep pricing down. Spurs cant steal our potential targets if we shut up about them.

I'm not bothered to be honest, purely because I never want too much change too quickly. 1 solid signing in Schneiderlin, 1 promising striker and some of the non-playing staff have moved on. That's already a big improvement and, more importantly, a big change to the day to day life at FF. It'd be nice to get a "super star" signing but I think we're in good stead at the moment

Come off it, Schneidelrin is Quality it just didnt work at UTD but at Saints he was superb, great signing. Gana has been expectional and our defence has been much better since Williams came in.
 
There is a reason Geri hasnt made it, Barca werent prepared to stick with him and Sevilla didnt want to keep him either. He was great for us in his first spell but he needs to offer more than what he does.

Imagine a mid with Schneiderlin, Gana and Davies. They'll be constantly hounding, we'd be terrible to play against, opposition (mid) players wouldn't get a moment to think. Excellent.

Exactly, the players we are bringing in now are going to be on, or close to 3 figures wage wise. We have the likes of Niasse, Gibson, Mcgeady, Cleverley, Kone to name but 5 who are probably on 50k each a week or there abouts.
 
That's 200k a week. If you add 3 players on 100k that 500k a week in wagers and 5 of those aren't contributing.

I think we need to gid rid of some off the wage bill tbh. Just a hunch like but we have some utter shite on 50k plus a week who probably wont kick a ball competitively for us ever again.
 
It's all well and good having money to buy players but the wage budget must come into play.

Most of the players know they are playing for their future, which should be a motivating factor. Hopefully Koeman has installed some mental toughness and we can turn them over. I believe we have and the squad is now starting to play and think the way he wants, this will be a good test.

Steve, they played well as did all the team. Against Leicester they were poor as was all the team. We're up and down because we are in a transitional stage, new manager, new backroom staff, new DoF, new majority shareholder. New tactics, new style of play, new mentality. It all takes time.
 
There has been no dramatic improvement and I never expected for one minute there would be. Forget how we got to where we were, forget personel or who was responsible just forget all that for a minute, regardless of where the blame lies we were an absolute shambles, an aging squad, poor standard of players on massive contracts, devoid of any direction, desire or even belief. It takes time to fux things like that when it's ingrained in the fabric of the place. People need shippiing out, mentalities need changing, people need to believe again. Change is never instant from situations like that.

But the point still is, respectfully, that you are talking as if half the team have been changed to bring in pure youth. Where as the reality is that Davies has started a couple of games. And Holgate has started a couple of games. The rest are the same players.
 
So, while not wanting to dismiss how well these lads have done, the real scenario is that Koeman is working to get these guys to play how he wants them to play. Bit by bit it is coming. There will be more hiccups and frustrations this season, but with each game you see what he wants to do.

We'll buy at least one more, probably two I reckon.

It's relevant when people are slating Koeman for us being shite when he had to pick up Martinez mess. To suggest a couple of young lads being picked is what's turned it around? Not for me, the manager is slowly fixing the mess we were left in.

It's hard to get excited about this one.

It was grim wasn't it. As I've stated previously, my 2 boys who eat , breath and sleep football didn't waant to go the game.
 
That speaks absolute volumes to me, you're that excited at that age nothing should dampen your spirits.
