If it was on a proper English pitch I think we would have been alright but they put it at probably the most Asian style pitch we have in Cardiff. One day games get boring on those pitches, I wanna see players knock it out of the park for 50 overs not running singles and twos. That is for test cricket.

I'll put it to you this way, would you have rather played those teams early or late last season? Utd, Chelsea, Spurs all average, only City came out of the blocks. Utd improved, Chelsea and Spurs went on to look unbeatable at times and only City had a quiet patch before improving again late. We just need to make sure we are on it and there is no excuse not to be especially with the Europa games. We will be much sharper.

I would prefer to play them early than late. After those first handful of games we have a really good schedule with none of the big games coming that late either. Even if we do get off to a bad start we have a big chance of gaining a lot of momentum as the season goes on.

Yeh but he makes some shocking mistakes at times. I cant remember the game but we are taking about mistakes an under 16 keeper wouldn't make (hence why he was dropped again) and then the standard GK mistakes on top of that. Simply put Joel isn't good enough to be our number 1 next season unless we are happy to sit where we are. Pickford has the potential to go to the very top or very close to it, whereas Joel doesn't. There aren't many top class keepers knocking around, nor many promising keepers that would come to us. £30mil is not the true figure, that could be years and years down the line that those clauses may kick in, or they may never kick in. I remember the insiders of the Bolasie deal where reporting that the actual sum was around half of that reported with the rest being unlikely add-ons (especially now because of his injury). If this Pickford deal is a basic amount of £18-21mil as reported, its a reasonable sum. I would expect Robles to be worth at least £10mil plus add ons.

For what its worth though, Labour have tried doing deals with the DUP in the past its just that they haven't been in the position to have to be held to ransom by them. Generally its a shame because this result actually gives all parties the possibility of contributing to the country. Get rid of the party whip, let the politicians vote as they see it and do whats universally agreed as best for the country and not just the whim of the PM and their policy makers.
