  1. Looking more like it will be Rooney for Barkley!
  2. 1. The tories haven't privatised the NHS and you will find that labour's record of privatisation is just as bad. And yes Mike, brought back prescription charges if you want to be pedantic 2. Why shouldn't shelf stacker and check out helpers get more than minimum wage? A trained monkey could do the job. In fact machines are making their job redundant anyway. Redistribute the wealth to people who can't create it (ie the vulnerable/disabled/elderly etc) but not to those that can't be bothered or repeatedly show no effort to better themselves. The unrestrictive of bankers (labour again) was irresponsible but business does a lot of good. Capitalism has shown to be the best route out of poverty throughout history. 3. The housing market is like any other market. If you can afford it you buy more or better housing. If you can't afford to buy, you either sit and save where you can or you rent. 4. That's not the same logic at all. 5. You mentioned about the cost of education as a bad thing. 6. It's not costed in anyway shape or form. It's costed in the same way as me writing down my spending plans for the year on the back of a fag packet predicting a 200% pay rise with no market forces. Please don't believe that their manifesto is fully costed and use that as part of your decision. 7. Fundamentally the Tories are the ones that support my views the most but there are lots of things I don't like. There are a few labour policies and politicians I like but there are far more I detest. You vote if you believe in something and I don't believe that any of the political parties are good for the UK.
  3. Scholes was twice the player of Gerrard and Lampard.
  4. I was more positive about this earlier in the season but having watched his last few games I was bitterly ďisappointed in him. I know he is the type of player that thrives on games but he was terrible.
  5. I have never seen Sigurdsson run a game like Barkley can. To be honest I have never seen him do that much other than match of the day moments, mainly from set pieces. I don't much watch of Swansea though!
  6. As Palfy said below, the problem isn't money, it's just a complete mismanagement. Welfare officers and Chaplin on £35k +. I have a friend in a management role in the NHS (despite no medical qualification or previous experience there) roughly 5 years out of Uni on £100k (via an agency who also get their cut) who at times can't even explain to me what she does. 4 days a week and gets the additional bonus of setting herself up as a business so she can make the most of her tax situation too. The NHS needs to come out of governments hands and into those of the experienced and successful practitioners focusing on quality and patient care. It's exactly the same with the Police too, I have another friend there who does a similar thing but earning even more money. Makes me sick, but fair play to them it's good work if you can get it!
  7. Labour were the ones that brought in prescription charges and dental charges. Workers make the owners rich? Surely that's the whole point or are you suggesting that the people taking the risk to set up businesses and employing people shouldn't see any of the benefit of doing so? Again landlords who have earnt their money and invested it in property? What is wrong with that? I doubt you will find many landlords with money in the Cayman Islands. Even the evidence behind fox hunting is very 50/50. It's not for me but I'm guessing the problems foxes cause aren't a problem for you other than one rummaging through your bins every other week. Labour also brought in tuition fees (again which I don't believe is a bad thing) and if Corbyn gets his way you won't have a job to go to but at least you can pick up more on benefits. I agree though, May is a leech. Can't stand her, don't like her wishy washy manifesto either. Corbyn is a different kettle of fish though. Trying to rewrite history as a man of peace, commies at his sides and then creates a completely unaffordable manifesto trying to push out and destroy all business on the eve of Brexit whilst then claiming that corporation tax increases will pay for all of his great ideas. The Lib Dems aren't much better either with a leader that doesn't support gay marriage (not really very liberal), UKIP are a farce and the Greens live on cloud cuckoo land. I think I will abstain!
  8. Exactly StevO, this was a man first and foremost. Religion has nothing to do with it, he was a vile man susceptible to be brainwashed by others. It happens in varying scenarios and to varying extremes all over the world and has done for centuries (not to belittle the attack in anyway). I don't see how you can stop it, although I would like to see more from the major players in that religion come out condemning the attacks, that the bomber won't be in paradise with their virgins etc. Do they even have a head Muslim? Ie a Muslim Pope? (Please excuse my ignorance!)
  9. I haven't seen any evidence of him not wanting him to be here. I think there is something that he isn't happy with in the contract or between him and the management.
  10. I think he and Lamport were both massively overrated. Great goalscorers but nowhere near the level of a 'great' player. They couldn't control a game but they could impact it. I think Dell Alli will go the same way as he stands on the periphery and then scores.
  11. I think he is been one of our best players this season, some of his most complete performances in an Everton shirt. Some absolute shockers too, especially in the big games, but overall he has done well.
  12. One of the most ridiculous things I have seen. If I was an opposition player I would have kept hold of the ball. I have been really surprised by the lack of professionalism across the league. I find it terrible that people paid as much as they are can't give a shit about a game or two at the end of the season with nothing riding on it. I think back to last season and the energy showed by the young lads ripping through Norwich compared to the shite we were served yesterday.
  13. That is down to the board not Koeman or Martinez.
  14. They are the number of players we need to move up the ladder though. We will need half a dozen this summer purely for Europe if nothing else as don't forget we got rid a lot of our fringe players in January.
  15. That because the teams below us have very little top 6 quality players. We are where we should be. If you look around the league (below us) how many players would improve our first 11? 1? Maybe 2? Even if you look above us how many have substantially better starting 11's. Arsenal - Cech, maybe Koscielny, Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey? Utd - De Gea, Bailly, maybe Valencia, Herera, Mkhitarian, Ibra, Rashford, Martial. Liverpool - Henderson, Coutinho, Firminho, Matip, Mane There are probably a couple I have missed but compared to Chelsea, Spurs and City the rest of the teams aren't good enough, it's just that those above us have a few more options in the squad. If we want to progress next season we have to look at getting that depth and quality into the squad. We don't have it but those below us have even less.
  16. The top 6 have improved but the teams below us have been shite. I haven't seen the final table but last week everyone below us weren't far over 40 points which is really unusual.
  17. Shame he got injured so often because he could have been a very handy player for us. Never the same after that first injury. I hope he finds a club and stays fit!
  18. I find this quite strange. Not really played as much as he should, behind a young striker stuck on the wing and then gets a new deal. There has been some strange contracts this season.
  19. I worry about how many genuine first team players we have at the club, especially worthy of top 6 clubs. I think I have probably been too positive in the past but in terms of genuine week after week starters I only have the following: Coleman (if he returns the same player) Schneiderlin Gana McCarthy (if he stays fit) Barkley Davies Lukaku I would keep the following in the squad to be used as and when required but not to he used week in week out: Barry Baines Jags Williams Mirallas Robles (just) Gerry And then we have the following youngsters that we know about that look like they have a future: Holgate DCL (dubious) Lookman (dubious) We need a keeper, a new back 4, we are sorted in the central midfield but we need two wingers, a creative midfielder, and at least another decent striker. That's much less than the teams below us, who maybe have one or two top 6 players but it's a mile off the likes of Spurs and Chelsea. Although it's not far off the likes of Utd or Arsenal however they have lots more in the second category of quality players who can step in when needed.
  20. I'm not convinced. He has done the job we needed him for but he does some really stupid things for such an experienced player.
