  1. They have been around for yonks and if I remember rightly they introduced the Haka and the black shirts which the full New Zealand team now use. I think it is because the Maori's were the original settlers, their own culture, language and mythology before the white people turned up. It would be a bit like having a Native American team in America. Britain has always been a mixing pot of nationalities, cultures etc.
  2. I dont know anything about the lad but playing £22mil for someone that a couple of you seem to think has a problem between the ears doesn't sound like a good deal. These type of players can sometimes return to form for a season or half a season but very rarely for the long term. He wouldn't strike me as a Koeman signing with that attitude either.
  3. I like him, but the problem with Joel is that you can guarantee he is going to make pretty basic mistakes and cost us goals. He will make some great saves as well that I wouldn't expect every keeper in the league to make but he makes more mistakes that lead to goals then brilliant saves that others couldn't make. He has had enough games now to really assess him. He is much better than Stek, streets better but from what I have seen of Pickford he is already at least as good as Joel, has half a season of Premier League footy under his belt and will only get better. He is commanding and a leader as well, plus he is English which will puts an extra few quid on his head and worth to your team.
  4. It's not as simple as that John, especially with no wall. You could just as easily say no keeper should be beaten from 25 yards but it happens a lot because the balls are so light, curve more than ever before and dip and swerve all over the place. There are times I have expected to catch a shot cleanly and in the last 5-10 yards it's dipped a foot or so. That's not the issue with Hart mind you.
  5. Rofl. Even the ex head of MI5 (or6) said he wouldn't even be allowed into their organisation because of his ties to the IRA, Hamas and Hezbollah. You seem to think Corbyn is the Messiah and think that any other politician against him is bent. They are all as bent as each other.
  6. That was because of the general election which worked well but I was referring very unclearly to his work before it was announced.
  7. I don't think Stones has the skillset. Just because he is comfortable on the ball doesn't mean he can play in midfield. In my opinion his best position would be the old fashioned sweeper who could bring the ball into midfield. He wants the whole picture ahead of him.
  8. If he has a 50 mil release clause they haven't been doing that well!
  9. If he comes good you are going to have to eat more humble pie than I am. Luckily I'm built for it ?
  10. He doesn't have it to be played wide but the jury is still out through the centre. For a young lad he is physical and has a great touch. Some won't like this but he reminds me of Welbeck in that respect.
  11. Stones isn't a midfielder. Having him and Dier alongside each other is the most negative set up I have ever seen. Bonkers.
  12. The lad is class, current rumour is £18 up front and the rest are performance / career related add ons which I think is far as it suits both parties. If it doesn't work our we only pay him £18mil (which is a fair price imo) and if it does we end up with a top notch English keeper worth more than double that. Please just don't expect him to come in and be faultless!
  13. Don't forget Connoley! He is still with us I think?
  14. Pretty confident he won't be able to do any of that successfully. The most he will do is help the Tories get rid of May but then they will actually appoint a competent leader and Corbyn won't have a chance. Don't forget Corbyn was probably the worst leader of the opposition that there has been and May out pointed him at every PMQ. I think this election was his chance and he couldn't do it, unless the Tories commit political suicide and appoint Boris!
  15. A petition isn't going to do anything! I don't get why I would side with kids? What do they know about the world? I work with quite a lot of 18-24 year olds and my lord they don't half talk some shite! These are well educated, law students for the main and they are so wet behind the ears. I find it crazy that people want the voting age reduced to 16.
  16. Not sure what to make of them really as they were well struck but not in the corner. He is not a keeper with a massive reach like De Gea but you couldnt day with confidence that De Gea would have saved them either. I am sure he would have got a lot closer though!
  17. Best player in the world that didn't play well all tournament even when he wasn't being man marked. Tracking just one man around the pitch and having nothing else to worry about is far easier than analysing and responding to various situations as you would get in a system.
  18. Probably the only mistake he made all game, albeit a costly one. I wasn't sold on him at first, thought it was English young player hype but I have been impressed with him, he has everything. Pace, strength, ball player, solid simple defender, leader and he is still young. I think he is already better than Jags and Mori, and maybe even Williams with the expectation of much more improvement. He is twice the player that the other young English lad Gibson is.
  19. He will win as many balls but probably give away as many as he wins. I'm not too sure how much is a Koeman player. He is compared to Gana, and whilst Koeman obviously likes him he has repeatedly pointed out in press conferences about his positioning. In my opinion Besic is (or at least was) far more wayward than Gana. As long as he is happy for a spot on the bench he is worthing keeping around considering the games we will hopefully have next season.
  20. If we could leave him to man mark every game he would be worth because he can chase them like a headless chicken. Put him in a system and he still runs round like one.
  21. Kane equalises but instead of grabbing the ball to score again and win the game they fucking celebrate! It's Scotland you twat!
  22. Unbelievable scenes... 2 free kicks, 2 goals for Scotland
  23. I think he is probably one of the top 3 keepers when coming off his line. The rest of his game is really solid without being special but if your a team like Spurs who need a sweeper keeper he is probably as good as you can get.
