First half I thought he was fantastic but second half he was poor.

Yeh exactly. The difference today is that he had more opportunities because we were on the front foot and we could get some decent ball into him.

I didn't think he was anything special today. For every good thing he did, he did something bad as well. When he doesn't get the service their isn't much he can do but in a game like today where he was heavily involved I think he needed to show more from his all round game. It's not a bad thing to have an ok game and end up with 2 goals though!

Jags followed by Schneiderlin. Whilst Ross did well, I couldn't help but think that he had more to offer.

I'm a bit surprised that Lookman didn't come on for Mirallas especially as the latter was on a booking.

Easy win in the end, which given their changes it did mean that we should have won. Davies performance got worse the longer the game went on, the rest more or less maintained where they were. Pennington showed he is much more suited to a back 4. Well done for sticking with him Ron but don't put him back in a 5. Jags MOTM, Schneiderlin a clash second.

Well that was an exciting first half. Mirallas, Davies and Jags have been superb. Rom, Schneiderlin, Barkley, Holgate, Gana and Baines are chipping away and playing well. Pennington was caught out early, he lacks confidence, but since then he has been really good as well. Schneiderlin needs to have a word with himself for the first, should have never committed and left us 3 v 2. Robles also shouldn't have left the room between his legs. Not sure what to make of the second goal. Pennington was indecisive and the free kick was a bit of a freak. If anything Robles starting position wasn't too much on his line, he should have been a yard off in my opinion. Once the free kick is struck from his starting position he couldn't have saved it, it was bang in the corner. If he was a yard off he would have had a better chance. We are playing really well though, Schneiderlin having a big impact on controlling the game. We just need to get another and see this out.

Yeh really well. He is a better footballer than I anticipated. Played some lovely passes and crosses.

Son on the other hand is playing brilliantly. I thought Jansen did well without scoring. I can see him being a player Koeman would be interested in.

I thought it was interesting that as soon as Boro tried to be more attacking, Gibson was exposed more and had a shocker. Always be wary of defenders playing well in negative defensive teams. They almost always look better than they are.

I agree. There is clearly a talented footballer in there, it's just whether the player himself still wants it. He looked poor against us the other night but he probably would have scored had Williams not handballed it. He is the type of player you wouldn't mind having a loan to buy option.

I mentioned this in the match day thread and it shows you how terrible the commentators are too. I think it was a combination of fatigue and him not making the right decision.

Reid, Ward Prowse nor Campbell are good enough.

Every player is different, especially between the ears so some maybe need a few days rest and others need a bit of time out of the team.

I like to see quality football. With the talent available to both managers you would hope for a better quality game!

Between Jags and Barry for me but I went with the latter.

I still wasn't that impressed with him. We played with an almost flat back 5 and he was out of position at least twice, one of which should have led to a goal. I didn't realise he was 23, I would have expected him to fill out more by now.

Some good saves but he almost made a big error which would have undone all his good work.

I thought he was largely anonymous, just couldn't get himself into the game but still worked hard. They are 2 big games for him in the space of a few days. Mentally that will take its toll on him.

It was a shame to see him taken off. I think he is our best counter attacking forward so it didn't make sense, especially with Ross and Rom flagging.

I don't think he knew what to do yesterday. He was supposed to link the midfield with Rom but he ended up in no man's land every time. He is a striker, let's just play him up top or bring someone else on.
