  1. People take too much at face value and are too literal in their interpretations. If I wanted a serious discussion about something I'd call a club staff meeting. Surely you can tell by the name Brett Angel, and the avatar, that life isn't to be taken too serious with him.

I call myself Avinalaff, and I get folk saying "You're avin a laff". Well blow me down with a blast of alien intelligence. You don't say. Really?

Sometimes you wonder whether folk should include a disclaimer in their signatures along with an A-Z of how not to take life so seriously.

  2. I don't really see how it's ganging up. Brett just has a view that many disagree with in this instance. Are people supposed to not put their point across just because it's the popular opinion? No. Just as people shouldn't keep quiet just because their opinion is in the minority or is unpopular.

Forums would be a bit pointless if either of those things were expected.

We're all adults on here (or mostly) and should be able to agree and disagree without it descending into arguments.

Do you think constantly being told to fuck off to my own forum by certain members is acceptable Romey?

  3. I really don't give a shit who gangs up on me. I come on this forum to share my opinions on the club I love, good or bad!!! I would rather do that than sit in the background agreeing with the majority to save face and make friends.....cheers anyway though avin...........and I won't stop either :-)

You might not mate, but I do, and will always step in if I see folk surrounding a guy.

Your posts are controversial just like many of my own, but guys need to get past that and realise if we all thought the same the place would be crap. All I would say though is take it easy with the personal attacks, as even if you can get away with it a bit with a little tongue in cheek, other lads see it and the place becomes less of a social club environment and more of a schoolyard.

A content filter would solve most of it lol. Change 'cunt' to show as 'cauliflower' and 'twat' to show as 'tweety' etc and pretty soon most of it will stop.

  4. stick around, I'm sure you'll see what I mean

He does have a point though mate, even if he needs to tone his approach down to a more acceptable level.

Once it becomes 'we' it becomes wrong.

I have 2 warning points for arguing with mods, so is it right for mods to argue with others? Of course not. If I have one complaint about this forum it's that the mods and admins pick and choose when to intervine, instead of making it perfectly clear to all that abuse or bullying is unacceptable and won't be tolerated. Blueboy122 is a perfect example of a guy that would have been banned by now had his comments been directed to somebody like Rubes, as opposed to Brett or myself. It's poor mate, not to mention hypocritical. Protect everybody, or let the place run riot, but don't turn blind eyes when it suits.

  5.

I never said he was a bad one. Recognize Moyes did well, but we shouldn't really keep on about him as he's no longer a part of this club. You can't compare him to other Scot names such as Alex Ferguson, George Graham and Jock Stein for example. He had 11 years of management here and didn't win a thing, although will always be grateful for invigorating the club once again after Smith and making the club recognized once more but you can't put him on the same plateau as the other aforementioned names. Shankly once again, was immense, both in terms of managerial ability and wasn't quite so banal as Moyes, either in management style or as a general man away from the game. Some of the stories I've read have to be seen to be believed. There will never be another like him and the game was poorer for his passing. You can't change the fact he was largely responsible for moulding Liverpool Football Club into what they were to become, but got to give the man some plaudits and recognition.

He didn't have 11 years of management at Man UTD, Arsenal, Liverpool etc DK.

You can't judge teams or managers on trophies any more. It is not a level playing field. Moyes did well enough.

  6. completely up to date. posting options, enable emoticons is flagged.

The full site on the ipad isnt 100% the same as the full site on the laptop. For example, the task bar for chosing fonts, imbedding images, etc isnt there at all.

Have you pressed the light switch at the left side Matt that makes it code only?

  7. The great David James stating that it was a great tackle and we need more of it in the game...the same keeper who was suspect on every cross cause he was shit scared of getting knocked.... Anyone can be a warrior whilst sitting in a studio. Pleb!

I can't believe the pundits on that show. Talk about low budget.

  8. dont get the list of emoticons, not button to display them. I double checked, Im supposedly using the full site. Very strange...

Does it have all the usual flash and the like installed Matt? Also, is there a setting on the forum to turn avatars off etc?

Edit: Look at the full editor, and the box to the right with the post options.

  9. Barkley is a 19 year old kid. We need to remember this.

Lukaku is also a 20 year old kid, and we need to remember this too.

They are the icing on the cake. Today we waited for our big players to show what they could do, such as Mirallas, Baines, Distin and Jags, Gibson, Osman and they were utter shite.

  10. Naismith all day long.

I'd like to find out which make of tv his knockers this season are watching, as it seems to me there is a bandwagon of 'anti-naismith' fans regardless of performance.

Turning point: Coleman losing his head. I thought he was found out a lot today and Hibbert will have been shaking his head at the way Kolarov eased past him again and again.

  11.

yes we are. osman is non existant, jags and coleman are getting burned regularly, howard is looking old, and barkley is touching the ball too many times. i'd like to see delafeu come on for naismith.

    Naismith has been outstanding.

Why do people seem to never give him credit. :dont know:

Barkley, Coleman, and Mirallas need to sharpen up for me.

  12. A few short days ago was the anniversary of Shankly dying (1981) and been trying to give it a mention each time, but always forgot. Got to give the man a mention because like it or not, he was responsible for making Liverpool what they are today and one of the most recognized club sides in the world, he was immense. Scots make such fine managers and he was no different. Top class managerial figure and great character.

    RIP

So you finally agree Moyes was a fine manager then ? :yay:

  13. i played 12 on pc and it was so different to the xbox version..far shitter..if that's still the case nowadays i wouldn't bother av..they don't seem to put much effort into the pc versions going off that year

    Thanks m.

I'm not arsed about online play etc. I had a copy of PES 2008 and it needed a joystick really.

I figured because I'm a sucker for a bargain etc etc, but might give it a miss, as not short of games lol.
