  1. Daily Fail report that he will sign within 48 hours.... Heard that one before.
  2. I wish we still had Tim Cahill. IMO Baines doesn't deliver as well as he used to from the corner flag.
  3. Maybe he's holding out for something better? Put it in perspective if you applied for two jobs and the one which offeres you less money phones back saying you got the job, you'd wait out for the other employer to see if they are going to give you the job too... Plus the lads on holiday, let him decide when he's cleared his head. Its a tough career football, he must be stressed.
  4. In my opinion, although they do fill a void, that's not nearly good enough for Europe. We will have to wait and see, hopefully we will bring in lots of numbers who are very very good players for very very little money! I trust Martinez judgmentally and financially. I see what you mean about rushing into deals in which we would over pay for, that wouldn't be ideal! I'm waiting for this Besic deal to be announced, £4m would be a steal! We need lots of deals like this potential one!
  5. Yes, I agree, however last season was last season and this season is this season. Last season we didnt need to bring in this many players in order to rotate the squad for European football. If we sign 8 players on the last day of the season it would have a detremental effect than if we would sign them 4 weeks before the season starts. Furthermore, look at who you've just listen. Proven Premier League players. Yes, we might sign 1 or 2 Premier League players, however, we will mostly be signing players from forign leagues who aren't adapted to the Premier League and the English style of play, the earlier we bring them in the sooner they can adapt and get comfortble to life in England and at Everton. We have a big changes in the squad coming this summer, which is why i firmly stand by my point that it is vital we get most of our business done as soon as possible.
  6. Because we have so many voids to fill for next season. And on top of that the players need pre season to play together...
  7. We need to get to work on these signings, from what I make it this is the sort of first team minus yougsters we've got so far this season: GK Tim Howard Joel DR Hibbert Coleman DL Baines Ovideo DC Jagielka Distin Stones Alcaraz Duffy MC Gibson McCarthey Osman Barry AMC Barkley AML Pienaar AMR Mirallas ST Kone Naismith To me we need to bring in at least the following: 1 x CB 2 x CM 3 x Wingers 2 x Strikers Minimum. Hopefully we've got Besic on his way which rumoured to be £4m seems a bargain. However, 2 x strikers could cost an arm and a leg. With the amount of players we need to bring in I really can't see us spending £20m+ on Lukaku and to be honest, as much as I love him, maybe it would make more sense to spend £10m on a half decent proven Prem striker (such as Ba, Kalou) and take a gamble on a £5m or £6m unproven young foreign striker? That leaves us a bit more money to spend on a couple of half decent wingers and centre midfielders. Or we need to get a couple of unreal loan signings to help the situation.
  8. I like to take a lot of things out of the equation. He is 21, yes his touch is poor, everyone has their weakness, however, at 21 he is a premier league goal machine. That to me alone withstands his valuation. He has 5 or 6 years yet before he's even in his prime. Imagine what that would be like for us? Somebody scoring 20-30 goals a season? Imagine if we sold him on in a few seasons time? If we buy him at 20 mil and sell him at 24 years old he would be worth over double that if he can score 20+ a season. We have to buy him. We know he can score goals for us, and at the age he is at, personally I believe he is worth £20m.
  9. Best post I've seen on this site and agree with every word of it. Thanks for sharing your opinion!
  10. http://efootballnet.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/barkley-and-stones-englands-diamonds.html Worth a read, best piece of journalism I've read in a long time.
  11. I wouldnt want to see him go... but if he did have a worldy of a tourney, It'd be hard to not get excited over Bale money. If we spent it....
  12. I think Naismith would link up with anyone you put infront of him. I honestly belive'd he'd make a top "second striker".
  13. Yeah I like him and think he would do a good job taking Nut's place on that left wing in the long term. He's got power and pace, imagine him next to Lukaku with mirallas on the other side its exciting. 3 pacey strikers/inside forwards. Edit: Plus he has 9 league gaols this season and how much of them are off the bench?!
  14. No idea who he is, anyone got anything on him?
  15. He isn't a year into his current contract yet. Lets just give him one in another season when we've got other priorities sorted out. We wont be giving him double his wage and anyone who believes that's what we're going to do needs to think about it realistically.
  16. "Everton midfielder James McCarthy is poised to sign a new deal which will double his wages and extend his stay at Goodison Park. The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days, following a superb debut season for the Blues. McCarthy signed last summer from Wigan Athletic for £13.75m but the Toffees' board now want to protect their asset. The Glasgow-born starlet was sounded-out at the end of the season and his agents are now thrashing out the finer details. It's understood Everton boss Roberto Martinez has already given his approval and the club expect it to be rubber-stamped by the time McCarthy reports back for pre-season training. McCarthy would see his existing deal also extended to 2019." Accoring to the "Everton FC" page on Facebook.
  17. We're evens to sign him, to be honest I can't see him going anywhere else. No clubs in the CL will realistically want him, and he'd rather have EU league than nothing I think.
  18. Always used to buy him for Everton on football manager 08 he was a fucking top player!
  19. Would mind that with Lukaku central and Mirallas on the right? Actually sounds like a very powerful front 3.
  20. Cover? And we dont have Gareth Barry anymore...
  21. "A cracking rumour, sparked by a report on a Spanish website, suggesting that UEFA would be removing all Ukrainian clubs from European competition next season — with Everton a beneficiary of a Champions League place — because of the unrest there has been quashed. Twitter lit up when plazadeportiva.com and a since-removed Twitter account reported that Sevilla, Valencia and Everton would be handed CL places after Ukraine's clubs were withdrawn but there is no truth the story."
