I think we all know its tricky for us. We have to negotiate hard...for every penny...it leaves it easy for others to sweep in and take our targets. However, we usually are pretty good at keeping quiet on our deals. It's one of the few things I've always been 'proud' of in recent times.

Totally different circumstances though. And reasons. This, to me, would show just how far down the pecking order we are for a generation of players who only know Everton as a mediocre (at best) club. Slow decline over 30 years I guess . All ifs and buts though.

If Villa snatch this one, if its all true about him having a medical with us etc... It really will show how much we've slipped as a club. But, as per, we'll wait and see. It's tough to know what's true etc.

In my honest opinion, and based on the evidence of the last couple of seasons, we really do need to get DCL out of our minds. It will be criminal if, just like in January and before, we don't get an out an out striker who can play into our system.

The problem, as we know, same as last season, is that all the missed chances puts more pressure on our back line. There's only so much they can do at the back if the boys up top don't do their bit.

Oh, and in case anyone still thinks DCL will somehow no longer be broken, he's been off for how many weeks? And still can't get fit. Feel for him but our biggest mistake this season will be not getting another striker.

Not to get too excited but some of the players we're being linked with show some sign of hard lessons learnt...as in their age etc. Plus it feels like we are trying to plug that mahossive hole we've had for years...up top! Other than that, regards FFP, how we're still embroiled in it despite all our cutbacks just shows how much we fucked it up. But, also, as someone else has touched on, surely a load of other teams are going to get sucked into it? Yep, for sure. I guess in that case I'd hope Dyche has an input. Personally, I do think the price matters regards impact of waste. A £99mill swing in your (exaggerated to make a point ) eexample is a big amount of money . £1mill, doesn't work, you can probs get most of that back. £100mill, doesn't work...Good fuckin luck getting much of that back vs the player sitting on the bench, out on loan, running down the contract (as we have literally seen across 3/4 players at least!)

I think he's a decent player from when I've seen him. I think people, some, need to remember we only need 'decent' to improve massively! If we can get a few 'decent' players in, it'll save us having to play players way out of position when the inevitable injuries/suspensions kick in. This alone, in my opinion, will keep us clear of relegation. Also, price matters. We've wasted £20, 30, 40million on 'decent' players unproven in the Premiership who then couldn't cut it. If we can get players who we KNOW can play in the Premiership for ~£10mill...its a good deal for us in this moment in time. Not where we, as fans, want to be, but its the clubs reality. I'm a big believer in giving youth a chance. I still think the right kids will get a go this season
