  1. If we are to get him on loan we definitely have to have first shout with a pre set buy value which takes into account any previous loan fees we have already paid. It would be unacceptable to me to loan him without these conditions. We would basically be upping his value to Chelsea alone.
  2. But by celebrating his success, you do build up expectation. Woy was maybe over the top protective, but his reasoning is dead right. The press of this country can't help but pick a national prospect and build him up to the God's. It sells papers. Then us dumb arse fans get overly excited. We all focus on the new saviour of our game. When they have the inevitable below expectation game, we spit venom at the poor lad. We forget that the expectation was too high in the first place and that also there is a young man involved who now has to put up with utter shit. So, fair play Woy. Protect and play.
  3. Was a bit peeved to see stones come on at RB vs Chile/Peru (can't remember who it was?!)...but really pissed off when brought on at LB! Left back?!!! What are you doing to the lad?!!!
  4. It's easy to get carried away with what is said to the media. Remember, the media is a circus. Managers will often 'play' the media. Cut them down. Give them a taste of their own shit. Either to slow the media bullshit train, or stop it all together. I'm sure that Barkley got plenty of praise behind closed doors. From fellow players, coaches and Woy.
  5. Bloomin heck! Some deep stuff being written on here! And it's only a rumour thread...god help our sanity if we actually sign him!!! He'd be a good addition to the squad. Simples.
  6. You can still agree deals, sign contracts etc. But it won't be certified official until the window opens.
  7. No one flourished for United during that period.
  8. Plenty of international strikers have amassed most of their goals against poor sides. Just the way it is. The Traore book is still an open one for me. Haven't seen enough of him to know much. And it makes complete sense to leave him out of the world cup squad...not because he's shit. But because he has had very little game time in the last 6 months.
  9. I actually think De gale has simmered it down a bit. Doesn't seem as bad as he used to be, but he'll find it hard to shake off the image now. As for De gale getting excited about fighting Froch. No chance. Where's Froch motivation for that? Beat Groves twice, who gas beaten De gale twice. Pah. Froch will have one big fight in Vegas and then maybe call it a day. What else can he do?
  10. Not surprised he ain't going. They got some good players up top. Traore won't be match fit so is a waste of place.
  11. Seems a bit contradictory to me considering you argued so strong that players from relegated or near relegated teams are not good enough for us? And that we should not consider them at all?! Anyway, lukaku...The poor lad is desperate for a chance at Chelsea. I can't see why he doesn't deserve it. He's proven himself in the premiership. Surely worth a full season? At least? On the flip side, he maybe needs to see that he's not wanted, if that's the case then ask for an immediate transfer before the world cup...go the world cup, have a stormer and stick the middle finger up to Chelsea and more so Jose.
  12. Love the boxing me! Thought Froch would win tonight. But wouldn't have been overly shocked if groves won. Froch is a true champ. A man of great dignity, determination and a chin of granite. I said years ago that Groves will be a champ. But he needs to stop blowing his own dick and get back on it. I think De Gale and Groves will be a long running UK rivalry. Especially once Froch retires and leaves them to it. Don't watch as much boxing as I used to. Not since frank Warren started box nation and pretty much took a load of fights off sky. Just can't be arsed paying yet another subscription fee on top of the others.
  13. I still think it's pointless debating so hard about a player that isn't evertons. Surely it's a closed chapter now?
  14. As far as I am concerned, the whole issue of so many youngsters not being good enough means that the set up is not good enough. The culture is not good enough. It means that work needs to be done. We have the facilities. It needs consistency from top to bottom. A one club ethos. Each coach at every age group buys into the same philosophy. Honestly, I believe Roberto will do this. He has the vision, the personality. He will keep learning and keep getting better. Believe.
  15. Loved that 4 of our boys were involved. Buzzed off that.
  16. In that case then all of the comments and aggro around McCarthy's pay and contract are pointless. Because we don't know the facts. In fact, most discussions held are pointless for the same reason.
  17. Actually, I think you'll find you've shown a very ugly side of YOURSELF.
  18. Ai, and I agree. But what I am getting at is that you strongly say that Mccarthy shouldn't get 80k per week because he is a DM (is it that or is it really that it's Mccarthy? ), yet we have paid 'the bulk' of Barry's wage. To me, the bulk of 120k per week must be around 80k. The main question is, did we get value for paying so much to the player?
  19. Ai, it all sounds bollocks. One good season would not earn you double your money at any club, never mind Everton! it seems Mccarthy is already on around £50k. More than enough, but we seem to have a consistent and fair pay structure at the club. He may an extra few grand plus some more juice added to any bonus scheme, which all players also have. As for a DM not being an £80k a week player based on their position. Well we paid 'the bulk' of Gareth Barry's £120k per week...so guess we have paid him a small fortune?
  20. Some decent players from the big spenders. Only other name that caught my eye as a player who did quite well last season was Sidwell from Fulham. Other than that, nah.
  21. It's crazy! I think PSG are sticking the middle finger up at UEFA and FFP. They've had the 50million fine and thought 'yeah, whatever'. Chelsea on the other hand seem to be taking good it more seriously. Cannot believe that fee for Luiz. honestly, never been so mind blown by a transfer fee.
  22. He's got the touch of a bloody donkey. Hang on, have I got the right loanee?
