I have had a very quick response from Everton.  All is not as it seems.  There are three seperate packages for 'Mascots'.
    1. Free for the children of season ticket holders and members.
    2. Corporate hospitality for which there is a charge (no details given)
    3. Everton in the community - 3 games per season for which the charge is £599 plus vat.
I have suggested in my reply that they advise the Telegraph of the true situation.  I have also suggested that as none of the packages appear to cater for children in 'just managing' families, that maybe something could be set up via the schools to provide this facility for free.  We are, after all, the People's club.

There is an article in today's Telegraph Sport about match-day mascots, the little kids who run out holding a player's hand.  My jaw dropped when I read that most clubs charge for this experience.  First, the only clubs that don't are:  the big six (includes Liverpool) plus Huddersfield, Southampton and Newcastle.  We charge £599 plus Vat and the fact that this goes to the community programme doesn't, in my book, make it any less of a rip-off.  With all the billions swanning around the Premiership, this is penny pinching at its worst.

Strikers came to Everton to "die" under Moyes. Dress it up any way you want but that was the reality.

Yeah he's shit. Should be marking at least 3 players on every corner. The tallest players too.

I wouldn’t have called that debate balanced in the slightest, but for what it’s worth, haf at least acknowledged that Lukaku was very talented and single-handedly won us some matches, which is far more than you can say about pete0 and palfy’s assessments of Gana. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I really do think this discussion is more baffling.

    I love this club.
We’ve put £8m back into the local community in recent years.

Great when that happens. Slightly different but I was in a queue at a checkout recently wearing something Everton based when a "lad" (twenties probably) wearing a Liverpool cap lined up behind me. Plain from his appearance that he had special needs of some sort but he started talking to me about FA Cup finals from '84 onwards; he knew the exact starting elevens, scorers and timings of goals right up until '89, every incident, backgrounds and league positions, the lot. His opening line was, "Bloody Norman Whiteside costing you a treble in 1985, you should've had a longer break after the Vienna game."
I could hardly get a word in; he could probably have given me the attendances and named them all if we'd been in a longer line. Heard about and seen on TV "autistic savants" (which I assumed he must be) before but the first time I've encountered one, lovely lad.

    Yeah I agree.
Gana was piss poor today. Awful. Worst game I've seen for him that I can remember. But he shouldn't be the guy who is further up the pitch, looking to play those splitting passes. Get him back, infront of the back 4, breaking up play and giving simple passes to the more technical, creative players.

Unfortunately, so far this season, we are the sole reason for us dropping points...from poor marking, red cards, poor decisions etc. We have well and truly shot ourselves in the foot.
Today was another under par effort but with more individual errors that made it far too difficult to get anything from this game.
I worried before hand when I seen the back 4. From an age and experience point of view, it's not ideal. Throw in Holgate having a mare, and Pickford gifting a goal...unreal.
I know peeps won't be feeling it, but there are some positive signs out there. Take away the individual errors, poor judgements etc and you find we are playing a better style of football with more purpose. But maybe we are trying to force it too much, and not being smart enough with the play.
Gutted. But not surprised to be honest.

We are crying out for a midfielder playmaker, I feel for Gueye because he finds space in the middle of the park because no one else does, which means he receives the ball a lot. Then he’s expected to find a killer pass which just isn’t in his repertoire. Wait and see, once Gomes is fit Gueye can go back to being anti-football and breaking up the play, what he should be doing.
