I didn't think it was a red. No where near.

I think people have reacted to the injury/repeat images of the lads ankle being stood on but the actual 'tackle' was never a nasty, studs up, out of control type action. Just mistimed his stride into the tackle.

As for the badge stuff...I liked it. Don't know what it means, but I liked it.

    All overblown for me.

Newty82 got a reaction from MikeO in Now Martinez has gone, who should get the nod...
Moyes said last night he'll wait until Summer, to see what's about basically, when being asked about Celtic.

I doubt he'll go to Celtic just yet, unless nothing else is in offer, I'm sure he will think of himself better than the SPL at this time in his career.

Personally, I'd be gutted if Moyes came back. I don't see the point in going back. I understand why people have an affiliation with him and that's fair enough. But for me it's a no.

He had an opportunity at the biggest club in the Country when he left us. He had the money to spend. Got given the job on a plate. Had the best modern day manager giving him advice. Inherited the league champions. What else could you ask for? What happened? He took them down the table...they failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years, outside the top 3 for the first time in PL history. Couldn't beat fellow 'big' teams. Don't forget how he spoke of the club when he was chasing Baines and Fellaini. That was like a real kick in the teeth.

Moyes has his own mindset and I think it's too restrictive to succeed when it matters.

We have a chance to start again. Not to go back. So let's start again. As we know with ex girlfriends, it very rarely works out going back and is never the same.

Simple...if you can't get your players up for a derby, your fucked.

Tonight was taking shambolic to another level.

And let's not blame it on red cards, injuries or whatever...we were shit before all that.

He'll stay to the end of the season. Then he needs to go. The FA Cup is a nothing subject, we won't get past United.

    So frustrated.

The more I think about it....Pellegrini would be a very good choice.

The last couple of managers here have been young up and comers who have had to still learn plenty and 'cut their teeth' at a bigger club with a bigger expectation. And the club has had to wait with them while they do it.

With Pellegrini, he has the experience, the knowledge, knows the league. He's a winner and he is a good respectful person, as the shambles at City has proven.

Probably near the end of his career but he can use his experience to build on the foundation that Martinez has put in place but doesn't seem to be able to take it to the next level.

I've got no idea who the next guy could be but Mourinho? No chance. His salary would be too much, he spends money like it grows on trees, doesn't develop youth...and we just aren't the right club for him.

I'll have to start looking around because I have no idea who could do it and/or is available.

Fans have a huge influence on things in some respects.

See at Anfield the other night...yes, let's be the devil and mention them...when the shite were 2 down inside 10 minutes...do you think the fans played a part in that comeback? Or did they just spectate? From what I remember, even at 2 down, the chants kept coming, the flags kept waving...the ecouragement continued.

Fans can have a huge influence both positive and negative.

(Sorry for using that example...feel a bit dirty now!)

Isaiah...I understand the sentiment. I was the same until recently.

The problem with allowing him to continue beyond this season for me is that I am not seeing any intention to change the overall game plan. And that's the flaw in the project. So if he won't change that then we will continue to concede silly goals, continue to be too slow on the ball, continue to stand off too much, continue to struggle to defend corners and crosses and continue to want to play it out from the back even when being pressed high.

I think that you give Martinez more money to spend, he'll bring in some good players, we'll score goals but we'll still concede goals with ease. We'll end up as we are now, 11 quality players on the pitch but no team.

We currently have a real good crop of players, add a couple more, get rid of some dead wood, bring in a guy who can make them play properly.

I see an opportunity for a clean slate for everyone. I think the club, fans and players need it.

Girls girls girls...stop the bitching during games. Watch the game.

Boring half. We are lucky not to be behind. Too easy at the back for Soton.

Pleased with Gibson. Also pleased with Mirrallas. We are all ok just need a little bit more.

Surely Niasse has something to offer?

You don't see it because you don't want to see it. Or maybe you just don't realise?

As well as what Mike had mentioned, he has been a positive representative for the club in the community and media, like it or not his 'style' of football has meant that GP has enjoyed it's best average home attendances for years, he's had input on developing Finch Farm and the youth in the club. The culture that he encourages is the culture that any club would want and we have embraced it.

His failing is the first team results in the league. That's his downfall. At this moment, he hasn't made that work and has been found wanting...he hasn't been able to find the ability, as a Manager, to build on the vision. He's dug himself into a hole which may cost him his job. But does that mean he deserves banners, rants, chants, walk outs, protests, whatever?

Whatever happens, he has a role to play at a club somewhere, maybe not as a Manager (unless he can adapt his appeoach), but he has a good future in football.

No one likes Martinez? Our most hated manager? How do you know? Based on 'a dozen Martinez out' hash tags on twitter after a bad run? How many followers does the Everton feed have? I'm not a Twitter man, so you tell me? The Facebook page has 2.5million followers...you get a few hundred at most disgruntled people after a defeat. Anybody ever read the comments after a win? You get a few hundred happy people.

He's underperforming at this moment in time. No doubt. If he carries on this trend he deserves the sack. And that's all he deserves...the sack.

He doesn't deserve banners, rants, chants, hatred, walk outs, protests.

The bloke has done good things for this club. Results on the pitch have gone sour, he may end up being a poor manager for us but he has done bloody good things behind the scenes at this club.

And yes he is a nice bloke. So treat him like a nice bloke. Say thanks but no thanks. Don't treat him like an absolute twat while the real twats get treat with more respect. Does my nut in.

And Chalkpie...This whole modern day feeling of 'entitlement' that we all have does my nut in too. Because we pay, we can act how we want. Bollocks. Respect and courtesy goes a long way. We've lost touch of what really matters and it pisses me off. I deal with it every day.

If he gets sacked because he under delivers on the pitch, he gets sacked. Fair play. But stop with treating him like he's torn the club apart, like he's the devil in disguise. It's goes too far for me.

Sorry to write all that...think I need to get in the gym and smash some numbers out!!!

I'm at a point where, within my mind, I don't want anymore grey areas. I want to know...can he? Is he?

It's either win the cup and finish 7th/8th (a mark down on my pre season expectations!) with a strong run of results that show serious change or don't win the cup, finish around mid table with performances that show no change.

I'm swinging more towards 'he cant' and also, as it stands, not wanting another season of this malarkey.

I don't fully disagree but Martinez wasn't given a golden platter. In Moyes final season, we had the oldest starting 11 in the league just about every week...about 29.something. I remember saying one of the challenges will be to refresh an ageing squad with new talent good enough to keep us at the top. There is a thread about it somewhere, a couple of years ago I think. The amount of new blood needed was always going to be a challenge.

Martinez hasn't helped himself but he has done a good job of reducing the age of an old squad.

Christ, we've won fuck all for 20 years. We've finished in mostly nothing positions for most of 25 years. Yes, he may end up taking us slightly backwards and will deserve to lose his job for that but he hasn't taken us from the summit of the table to mid table obscurity.

Leave all the RM hate to one side and just take this as it was...a hard fought draw.

I was really impressed with us when we went down to 10. We showed a lot of passion, energy, determination. If we had that in all our other games, there would be no doubts.

It's just a shame that we have to have our backs up against the wall before we start the fight.

McCarthy was a bell end. Barkley largely wasteful. Lukaku was just abysmal. Everyone else was decent to good. Robles even saved some!!!
