aaron
yes please. i raised this question with my mate coming home from the match on saturdday, he wants to leave, would be relativly cheap (ish) and is an ex arsenal lad. i rate him tbh. would be a decent signing. BUT I do remember thinking he was good at some points last year....if we got him cheap I'd say yes, but nothing more than £3m probably
Romey 1878
I'd definitely have Larsson. I was thinking when they went down he's a player I'd take from them.
jamiemaher85
I'd take him as squad numbers, similar to the Smith situation. He's good, but he's not great. He won't take us to the next level which IMO is what we need to be looking for, but as squad numbers i think this guy would certainly do. £3m max! The Regulator
I'd take him as squad numbers, similar to the Smith situation. He's good, but he's not great. He won't take us to the next level which IMO is what we need to be looking for, but as squad numbers i think this guy would certainly do. £3m max! QFT we need numbers in the midfield especially given that pienaar is now injured, and to be honest even if he is low on the priority list, last time I checked the priority was new players who will strengthen the squad. At the end of the day if we field a squad in 4-5-1 of Howard, Lescott, Yobo, Baines, Hibbert, Neville, Osman, Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar (or maybe 2 defensive mids with jagielka on) and yak up front, we have a solid, combative side able to challenge the upper eschelons of british football. What we need to focus on is resting that squad for important matches, so against lesser opponents we need to field players of similar or lower abilities to keep that flowing. Larsson fits that mould and given that are 5 first matches are 3 championship teams away and pompey and blackburn at home we have a nice breathing space in which to implement these players. No more than 3, but no less of a good player for it. Moyes really does need to sign at least 4 now though, with the amount of injuries we've sustained, are suffering, and will probably suffer down the line. M'Bia would be a brilliant purchase and gives us strength, Moutinho is overpriced but worth is weight in gold and the same goes for Vagner Love, but the odds of us securing these guys are pretty slim. In my opinion we need a backup goalie, a right back, a defense mid, a left mid, a center mid, and a striker. In reality, we can cope without a backup goalie until the next transfer window, we can play neville in right back with ease, have enough strength to function without the addition fo a new center mid (as long as arteta can be allowed to play central and work his magic). Another striker and mid are necessities though, unless he really does plan on doing a wenger and bringing in rodwell and baxter, and utilising vaughn and anichebe heavily this season. Overall we're not in the fire yet, but we're certainly out of the frying pan. Where we land depends on who moyes can land in the next 3 weeks. Matt
well if hes going for a free i think we might be able to! Cant imagine he would be wanting the same wages as Pienaar, mightnt be a bad acquisition
Bailey
Woudlnt say no, dont think he really has that much quality but he can certainly do a job and add something else to the team.
Peter H
I highly rate him. Although he is from my home town which might make me biased. One of My faves in the swedish national squad. One of the better passers of the ball around. Would serve cahill on several occations in a season with great crosses. Would also be able to score from freekicks. Would be a great signing on a bosman but would also be worth 3-5 mil in jan.
Peter H
Apparently Newcastle have offered 1.5 mil and it has been accepted by Birmingham. If this is true then we should definatly try to get him. LexKing
I wanna see Bily and Gueye having their chances before bringing in some1, even this cheap. BIly was too expensive to not get his chance when Peanuts is out. 3-4 games later we are much wiser. I dont care if Larsoon aint available that time anymore. He aint gonna be any worldbeater anyway, even he might be a good business.

Amateurs He's an attacking inside forward a sort of Cahill esq role when he plays for Russia he sit's in the middle/left behind Arshavin, He's got a cracking shot on him has good feet for me he just needs games plus now JV is gone out on lone? I would stick him in behind Beckford.
Peter H
Seb Larsson is no longer for sale according to swedish news sources. THey have interviewed his dad who confirmes the fact. Larsson has now officially asked to be put on the transfer list. I think Birmingham just thought that .5 mil isnt good enough and why not just keep him as back up during the remainder of the season. However, this means that he can leave for free at the end of the season. I think he will go to Blackburn although im hoping he sees Everton as an option. Peter H
So Larrson is not for sale, but hes asked be on the transfer list? Thats what the story said. Cant find the original story that I read this morning but here is a follow up article with an interview with his agent. Aparently his agent is blaming Everton as Everton managed to get 2.5 mil for Pienaar. This made Birmingham greedy. http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/fotboll/internationell/england/article8442804.ab Google translation of article here (remember, all sums in swedish krona): Birmingham: He is not for sale Read more: U-turn After all tours - now Larsson is not for sale. 6 Sebastian Larsson. Aftonbladet.se not responsible for what is written in blogs. Agent rage against the club: "So you do not treat a player Sebastian" Both Newcastle and Blackburn offered more than Birmingham demanded from the beginning. When the cross turned Birmingham - and suddenly it's not Sebastian Larsson, 25, for sale anymore. - How to deal with not one player Sebastian, says agent Per Jonsson. Two weeks ago, the Birmingham club management that it was ready to sell Sebastian Larsson, who has a contract that expires this summer, for 11 million to Newcastle. Several clubs came into the auction, and in recent days, both Blackburn as Newcastle were prepared to pay around 15 million for an immediate transfer, experience Sportbladet. "Disrespectful" The Swede will also have agreed personal terms with both clubs. But yesterday, the cross turned Birmingham and announced that Sebastian Larsson is not for sale - although already bought his replacement in David Bentley, the winger from Tottenham. - You will not believe your ears anymore. For a few years, the club wanted back and forth on whether or not to sell Sebastian. The past months have changed their minds three times, "says Larson agent, Per Jonsson. - It is disrespectful and poorly designed to behave like this against a player who has been in the club 4.5 years and been involved and taken them to the Premier League twice. "He is not for sale" PR-manager Andy Walker tells Sportbladet: - It is true that he is not for sale anymore. Sebastian Larsson is an important part of the team who are fighting on three fronts - the Premier League, FA and League Cup, "said Walker. According to local reporters in Birmingham can turnabout partly because the borrowed Bentley is not allowed to represent his new team in the cup - and that Everton managed to get paid more than 25 million the other day for Steven Pienaar as he went to Tottenham, although less than six months left on contract . For the national team is Larsson's transfer circus bad news. Right Midfielder risk less playing time and a lot of infected situation in the spring in Birmingham. "Nothing happens" To the Birmingham Mail, said manager Alex McLeish: - We must do what is best for the club and now is Seb still here and fighting for a spot on the team. It has found some interest in him, no doubt about it, but he still belongs to Birmingham. Right now, nothing happens, "said McLeish. Sportbladet have been in contact with Sebastian Larsson who declined to comment on the situation. Larsson, 25, has played in Birmingham since 2006. thehelmet
I think the potential signing of Seb could do wonders for Coleman's chances at right back. Seb Larsson is a hardworking winger with decent speed and a really good touch, he won't slouch his defensive duties and has played at right back for Sweden a couple of times so there would be added security for Coleman and room for him to keep bombing forward and they could switch places back and forth throughout games.. I'm just wondering how much he's asking for in terms of wages.. 50,000-60,000 a week?
