mk86
The happiness at this signing is coming off me in waves. Yipee. Sarcasm I take it? Well I guess it's no longer a rumor.
Romey 1878
Sarcasm I take it? Big time . I really hope he proves me wrong though, and I will more than happily admit I was wrong if he bangs them in for us.
MikeO
Sarcasm I take it? Gently irony . Could be another Brett Angell. Could be another Marcus Bent, don't have much more hope than that....but as people have said he won't be on huge money and if he flops we can get a few quid back on him. Whoopee (in the same tone of voice as Mark's exclamation).

nesta2003
He's one of us now so lets give him a chance & hope he proves us wrong. (wont be getting his name on my shirt just yet though!)
rubecula
Davey seems to be able to bring out the best in some players. I hope Beckford is one of them. If so in a couple of seasons he could be top quality.

troy8
I hope he's not given the number 9! If the board haven't given it to him already, maybe perhpas it's a sign we might be trying to get Landon back sooner rather than later? Just a thought

inertia8
I've only seen about 5mins of him playing, so I will reserve judgment until the season after next.. I must say the Leeds fans comments on the SSN article are a tribute to them, appreciative and well wishing.. nice to see. Is it just me or does his neck seem disproportionately long in this picture on the OS? just camera funkery like some of Distin's images? marcopaulo
could be the signing of the season on a free or could be a shower of shite...either way it aint gonna cost us much on wages and i can't imagine him bein worse than jo!

StevO
I hope he's not given the number 9! im with you on this mark, im way too fussy with numbers (love donovan hated seeing him as number 9) give him a squad number, if he bags in 15 plus next year give him the number 9, but i'll reserve judgement for now. Cheers bruvs if you are JB himself, what did you study at Leeds uni? Edited May 31, 2010 by StevO
jcrawfor
Like was said. He can't be worse that Jo was and even better...we've signed someone BEFORE August 30th, hell before June. COYB.
Romey 1878
What I do like about Beckford is that he's a cocky bastard and he's got great belief in his ability, and we could do with players who believe in themselves when they come up against the best because too many times as a side we bottle it when it really matters. He's a blue now and I'll back him.
Philinsuffolk
I wish him well. Respect the club, the management team, his team mates, the fans and give his all. That is expected.

Sheeeeeedy
The end of James Vaughan's Everton career? Probably, as much as I hate to say it. The lad can't seem to string 5-6 games together. If he sell him for a couple of million and have Beckford replace him on the bench, I think that's a good bit of business by Moyes Edited June 1, 2010 by Sheeeeeedy

everton007
Jermaine Beckford is not as good as James Beattie and we all know that Beattie was shown the exit door by David Moyes at Goodison
iggy
Am reserving judgement until after he has settled in, DM obviously believes he has something to offer and has a good record of bringing out the best in players.

Finn balor
The lads on a free transfer and his wages wont be huge. Its gonna be a massive step up for him and i dont know if his first touch is up to much but in his defence he looked good against United and Spurs in the cup.
