I thought the defence looked pretty solid apart from when Jerome was clean through and the usual half chances but statistics, which you can make what you want from them, shows that Birmingham never had an effort on target. Fellainis influence in all areas of the pitch just gets my vote but commendable performances from Osman, Baines and the defence in general.

I found this a strange one to be honest.

Everyone already mentioned put in a good shift, and Timber did well in the box, especially his goal at the end, that was a great header without the need to jump. Getting in to the ball before the defence and it went in like a rocket.

In the end I had to give it to Bainsey for a very good display. (Is it me or is he actually getting better and better all the time?)

Overall I would be churlish to pick out anyone for playing badly. There was a lot of effort put into that game.
