ross
IS IT ME OR DO LIVERPOOL NOT SHOW AMBITION?? I MEAN CHELSEA SIGN SHEVCHENKO, MAN U ON THE VERDGE OF TORRES, ARSENAL SIGN ROSICKY AN HAVE A NEW GROUND AN THE RED poo GO AN BUY CRAIG BELLAMY BET YA LIVERPOOL FANS THINK HE WILL BE AMAZING FOR THEM AS THEY DO WITH EVERY PLAYER THEY SIGN BUT I CAN PICTURE ONE UGLY STRIKE FORCE IN CROUCH AN BELLAMY AND HOW FUNNY IT WILL BE WHEN WE SEE THEM STANDING BY EACHOTHER UPFRONT HAHA
xavier
But then again, probably its time to realise that those 'ugly men' are standing on a football pitch and not a fashion show ramp. Dani Alves, Bellamy, Gonzales, Paletta and possibly Kuyt and Zapater. we'll have a very strong team, make no mistake bout it. Even if Man U sign Torres, which is still an 'if', thye'll still be short in midfield. They'll need a Carrick, or a Mascherano to look strong in the middle of midfield. Rob W
bellamy is a top player or at least he has been so far. whats the betting he 'doesnt fit into l'pools style of play'and is sold off within 2 years. i admit i wanted him at the blues last season but had we installed this 6.5m clause in his contract like BB did, we would be spitting blood now, ala barmby. as said earlier in this post...well done DM, he waited and got AJ instead
Adams
yeah, AJ is a better player, the problem with Bellamy is he dosnt always play good, whilst with AJ he always gives it his all Bellamy is very fast but like bluerob said he dosnt realy fit into there style of play --- Craig Bellamy will today complete his £6million transfer from Blackburn Rovers to Liverpool after agreeing a four-year deal with the Merseyside club commanding wages of around £45,000 a week, considerably less than was on offer had he opted to prolong his stay at Ewood Park. smeghead1
A few of us who were on here at this time last year all agreed that we wouldn't want Bellend in our team even if he came with the Fortress money!! I can see Gerrard and Co falling out with this big time charlie!! He was at the skunks till he decided he was better and bigger than the club!! Even the rs fans Alonso and the others admitted he was a good player BUT A GAMBLE AT 4 MILLION due to the disruption he has caused in every dressing room he has entered!! The other decent omen we have is that we a very rarely beaten by any team he plays in LONG MAY THAT CONTINUE

xavier
Even the rs fans Alonso and the others admitted he was a good player BUT A GAMBLE AT 4 MILLION due to the disruption he has caused in every dressing room he has entered!! 32299 Thats not true. He was all over the place at Newcastle but was alright t Celtic and Blackburn. In his interview, he has been saying the right things. So, im kinda glad we signed him. If he can improve here, that would be awesome. The fact that it was Liverpool made it impossible for me to turn down the move. As I'm a fan, it doesn't matter what club I was at – I could never turn Liverpool down. You get the chance to play for Liverpool and it's a lifelong dream come true. ... I want to say this though – it's hard enough to come to a club like Liverpool, because it's such a special club and these opportunities arrive once in a lifetime, but I'm going to have to work even harder to make a good name for myself here. It's hard work coming here but it's going to be even harder to be a really big hit here – that's the way I'm looking at it. It's going to take a lot of work, a lot of focus, a lot of discipline – everything – to make it at a club like this. Because I want to be a hit. I don't want to just be remembered as a Liverpool player, I want to be remembered as a good Liverpool player. That's my motivation."

smeghead1
Oh and just another point while im having a go, Bellend left the Skunks for Celtic because they played him on the wing and with Benitez's ideas of a striker, look at what he did to Cisse, Bellend won't be there to long will he now!! January loan to Celtic on the cards???

January loan to Celtic on the cards??? 32328 Cisse was played on the wings because he wasnt smart enough in the middle. He never used his pace properly. So putting him on the wings made sense because he didnt have to 'think' much there. Bellamy will offer the pace that Cisse does, but unlike Cisse, he actually has a clue about which runs to make, which runs not to make, and is an intelligent player with much better close control than Cisse. Could be a perfect foil for Crouch, especially in the Premiership, where I don't think it's as necessary to pack the midfield, and it's better to play two up front. Offers something different to our existing strikers too. I thnk the discipline factor is overplayed, he's been a bit naughty in the past, but that's in the past. He's 26 now, I think, he's mature, and furthermore he's playing for the club he supports, and this wil ensure he tries that little bit harder in that respect. A better player than both Defoe, and Bent in my opinion, and probably at half the price. Good signing overa

Bill
I'm not doubting that hes a good player, in fact i was one of the few who wanted him to sign for us before he went to Blackburn, but i'm not sure Pool are the the right Club, or Rafa is the right manager to sort him out. Comes with an almighty ego and likes to do his own thing, and thats the reason he falls out with so many Managers and so many Team mates, there could be some confrontations at analfield this coming season, cos he will be a minnow in amongst some mighty big fish, might be some Touble brewing. Methinks.
