Nice gesture.

But I'm not really sure why you need proof of purchase to get the refund when you can only get the shirts from Everton through Kitbag anyway? Plus, a lot of people will have these got shirts a while ago and will have got rid of their receipts.

Those with a Yakubu on their shirt must be gutted.

It's a welcome initiative, although the pessimist in me says it's a publicity stunt for Bill Kenwright ahead of today's game. They've had over two weeks to arrange this but it's announced the day before a game, plus usually it'd be announced that the club are refunding shirts, not the chairman. :)

I'm glad you said it and I didn't have to, because I'd just get called cynical because I'm anti-board :P.

I was already expecting we'd see his face up on the big screen again this week for another boo/cheer episode, now it's nailed on.

It's a good gesture and not every club would do it - I do think it's part of a PR drive though.

The proof of purchase seems unnecessary in the circumstances - it wouldn't surprise me if they actually refund without it. The alternative could be a load of angry fans saying that the gesture is meaningless

But as Mark said earlier you can't buy them anywhere else so surely the fact you've got one is proof of purchase in itself.

Exactly. I haven't kept the receipt for my shirt so I wouldn't be able to get a refund. Unless you could use a bank statement or something as proof, I dunno.
