MikeO Posted September 26, 2014 Author Report Posted September 26, 2014 Anyway, bit of a disappointing return from the last two matches this morning: need to come out on top this afternoon now. Quote

Paddock Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Big turn round this afternoon 3 and a half - 2 and a half and 3 up through 12 in the last but 2 down through 14 in third. Looks like 4.5 to 3.5 end of play today. Already liking up to it's expectations Quote

Paddock Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 This why it's such a great sporting event. Amazing. Yep totally agree. Walking off the 16th green it was dormy and game ove, Garcia with that shot on the 18th WOW!!!! Quote

Paddock Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Missed it all this afternoon; damn . I did this morn mate, looks like I got to watch the best games from our point of view though Quote
Hafnia Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Gotta say, half a point from Rory and Sergio out of two isn't good enough. Even though he's a yank I love fowlers attitude to the game. Quote
Bailey Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Rose and Stenson were excellent in both games today and I would definitely be keeping them together tomorrow. Debuisson and McDowell look like a strong foursomes pairing too. I would be looking to split up Garcia and McIlroy although the way they played down those last couple of holes may just be what they needed to get them moving forward. Great performance from the 2 US rookies too. Absolutely destroyed Poulter and Donaldson. Quote
Hafnia Posted September 26, 2014 Report Posted September 26, 2014 Garcia and Rory thought they would stroll it, far too complacent laughing and joking around 2 holes from the end. I called poulter out as a weak link, I don't go for this peacock strutting stary nonsense. These boys had to play in the tiger era. As a golfer he is very much a Phil Neville, all attitude and show but limited talent. Quote

Great performance from the 2 US rookies too. Absolutely destroyed Poulter and Donaldson. Rose and Stenson first pair out tomorrow; Debuisson & McDowell not playing in the morning but I'm sure they'll be back for the foursomes. Garcia and McIlroy have indeed been split, Sergio out and Rory playing with Poulter. Donaldson and Westwood rightly being given another go; last pairing is Bjorn & Kaymer (v Reed and Spieth who I was amazed didn't play this afternoon). I'd settle for four points from eight tomorrow leaving us just needing five from the singles, but I think we'll probably get more. Bailey 1 Quote
Keith B Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Rose and Stenson may never miss another putt. Unbelievable. Quote

Paddock Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Great day again 10-6 for Europe. We should piss it from here but last time out in the States proves nothing is certain in this competition. Quote
MikeO Posted September 27, 2014 Author Report Posted September 27, 2014 Great day again 10-6 for Europe. We should piss it from here but last time out in the States proves nothing is certain in this competition. It's getting to be as one sided as the old days when it was just UK and Ireland v the States; maybe they could open it up to the whole continent of America to see if we can make a match of it again . MikeO Posted September 27, 2014 Author Report Posted September 27, 2014 Watching the highlights; Justin Rose must be cursing (under his breath) Martin Kaymer, was a liability this afternoon and stopped Rose getting four wins from four. Impressive that he carried him to a half. Quote
