If he was that cheap, I think we would've been chasing him as our marquee signing during the summer. So far as I remember, he has a 30m buyout clause and is highly regarded at Barca.

 

In the mean time, I've not got an issue with developing young players on loan, so long as it doesn't stunt our own kids. It makes us look attractive to upcoming talents like Stones, knowing they've got a genuine chance at the first team if they're good enough.

Only a few weeks ago I myself wrote that we stood no chance of getting him. Lately I have heard from people who follow him closely that many at Sevilla are complaining about his attitude, and that Barca would be willing to let him go. We really miss youthful zest down the right side. Mirallas-Barkley-Deulofeu is a fluid and lethal combination. It is so frustrating to watch Eto'o slow down the pace of the game. If we are gonna play the Martinez way, we will need quicker players, and someone like Deulofeu is just what we need.

When they have the potential to be as special as gerry does I'd say yes...but we won't get him

Nobody thought we would get Romelu...it would be hard to get Deulofeu, but not impossible.

I would love this move. Rated him at Basel and he's being wasted at Chelsea. Send atsu back and play salah with Mirallas barkley and romelu, hot damn that would be nice.
