I think Steklenburg is sensing an opportunity to claim the starting position in goal. So far, I would say he is taking his chance admirably.

Me and my big gob! Poor defendng, no real challenge but a De Gea would have kept that out.

I've noticed a lot of balls played early and with pace to the forwards. The midfield delivers it quickly to feet and the striker must lay it off or turn and shoot.

 

I can see a certain someone struggling to fit in to this system. Under Koeman we play through the lines at speed and balls get zinged forward or low across the box.

I think it will suit him more than watching the back four play keep ball

Agreed. I think this style of play will suit him down to the ground and he'll bang the goals in.

I think the point that being... that person needs to be able to deal with a ball hit at pace and have a one touch ability.

 

I like the look of the quick footed interplay between the ball playing forwards.
