  1. Surprised to see you managed to find your way back to the forum, would have thought you'd forget it after about 3 seconds. Sorry.... Someone had to do it.
  2. On the other hand, after their season collapses when they finally have a tough run over Christmas they'll be able to blame it on the injuries. And go on about how they'd have won the title if not for it. Still, going to be fun.
  3. I was 7 in 1992. Probably hadn't even watched an English football match at that point, nevermind an Everton one, as I don't think there was a lot of English football on the telly back then in Portugal. 21 years later I'm at Old Trafford watching THAT. Life is funny!
  4. Yeah I am starting to... Wait, no. Don't get me wrong, respect him for what he did here but after the Summer he deserves everything he gets.
  5. Watching their match against Newcastle, they're playing like a mid-table side. The difference Rooney makes, imagine if he had left in the Summer.
  6. I reckon you'll make it out of your group personally, probably in 2nd, just ahead of the 3rd placed team. And then you can get a decent draw in the last 16 as well as group C isn't the strongest. I predict a respectable if dull and unspectacular quarter final exit for you. You will then piss your qualifying group for Euro 2016, get out your group in the competition proper and get knocked out in the quarter finals, in what will be a respectable if dull and unspectacular performance. Repeat ad infinitum.
  7. Well at least there's a decent chance one of us will be happy. Unless Ghana decide to do a 2010. What about that France group? Piss off Ukraine.
  8. Damn, tough group for Portugal. Playing Germany first game as well like in the last Euro. Don't know what to expect from the current Ghana team but I'm sure both them and the USA will make it very difficult for us.
  9. Should probably vote for Barry or McCarthy who were phenomenal, but OVIEDO BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
  10. Just got back home. Safe to say this night will live long in the memory. Very tired, possibly a bit bruised but all worth it. And nothing screams bitterness and knowing you're in deep shit as much as plenty of grown men outside the away end at the end of the match insulting us, calling us scum and generally embarrassing themselves. Love it.
  11. It's actually a short story but I really like it: http://filer.case.edu/dts8/thelastq.htm
  12. Hopefully Chelsea get him and sell Lukaku. To us. I don't really think he's worth 22 million Euros. He's half the player Falcao is, although most strikers are to be fair. Of course his record is impressive, but having watched a few Porto games over the past couple of seasons, with some of the chances he misses he should have double the amount of goals. To be fair near the end of last season I'd say he'd be worth 22 million, but he's been very very average this time around. Maybe all the speculation about a big move last summer unsettled him.
  13. It was great reading that first post, welcome!
  14. Plenty of good performances up front, could go to Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku, McCarthy in midfield, even Deulofeu although he was a bit too greedy most of the time. Went with Mirallas.
  15. I remember him from USA 94 as I was 9 at the time and was collecting the panini stickers Didn't watch English football much yet at the time as coverage was pretty much non existant back then in Portugal. Only started getting games and highlights in 96, 97. I remember we strangely had Bundesliga matches shown live on tv for some reason, La Liga as well of course. Anyway I digress...
  16. I think Zoo should just put us out of our misery with this one. Just googled it, pretty sure no one will get it!
  17. Haha yeah I remember Carew being quite average but he did have one or two monster games every once in a while. Thought Pedersen would have been a more likely contender tbh, he used to take FKs and penalties for Blackburn if I recall correctly.
  18. Coventry surely? They were fighting relegation virtually every season. Wimbledon, QPR, Reading?
  19. The problem is it would break up Baines - Pienaar on the left. Not that it has been effective recently, so personally I would be all for Mirallas on the left and Deulofeu on the right. Martinez seems to think we can't have both on the pitch at the same time at the moment maybe because they don't help much defensively, but we should definitely give it a try at some point. Pienaar doesn't even look 100% fit.
  20. I hope you're right and we're definitely good enough to beat them. We've looked quite vulnerable to quick counter attacks though despite not conceding many and the rs will try to exploit that. And a decent ref at the derby? Just won't happen, it will be another rs lover as usual.
  21. I thought he was the new Messi? Not like the kopites to overstate their claims.
