We have no players in the middle with the combination of bottle and passing ability. Tosun isn’t lost or unfit - he’s just expecting some level of quality/vision from the midfield that just isn’t there. To be honest I feel Tosun could do the job in the midfield as he results in a positive more times than a negative when on the ball. The problem is he’s not on the ball enough. I blame Big Sam 40 for this.
We’ll survive this year and hope to stave off regulation next year also. Anyone thinking any different is not watching games nor familiar with entire roster. Dark days at Goodison.

Its not about Cenk or Niasse, its about team. There is no playmaker, we respect rooney but he is end. You must carry the ball to Cenk or Niasse.

I’m not sure I’ve seen us as bad as we are now- ever and I’ve watched some shite Everton sides. I look at our team and I just can’t get my head around why we are so shit. Our defence is the worst looking defence in the league- Kenny is poor, he makes far too many mistakes Martina is he even a footballer? Holgates been horribly exposed last few games and Williams looks like he’s had a lobotomy of some kind, it’s just dreadful. The midfield offers nothing but sideways passes, there is zero movement anywhere on the pitch and we can’t string 3 passes together. It’s utterly utterly dreadful.

Just saw Big Sam’s post game rant.
W-O-W!!! And that’s not the good kind of wow. He was actually upset we tried to go forward at 2nil down...   He described them as “Unprofessional”. I no longer understand the English Language. Unprofessional would mean they just pack up shop. They didn’t - the team as a whole is just shit with no direction. I honestly think deep down Big Sam feels that Everton’s season might come down to goal difference - what a scary thought. Here’s another thought Big Sam - play with five attacking players that actually want to attack and give us a chance to play with the lead or at least play with some type of consistency of line up.
Rooney (think Paul Scholes), Tosun, Siggy (share the middle Wazza), Bolasse (fat or not) and Mirallas to start (don’t give a shit about feelings, on this team Mirallas should be playing). Lookman, Calvert-Lewin and Lennon (being nice) subs. Back three of Keane, Williams and Holgate until Coleman comes back. Protect these three with a MAXIMUM of two of the following - McCarthy, Gueye, #2, Davies, Vlasic or Besic. If this guy we’ve apparently signed named Klassen ever reappears we might want to play him also. Hmmm - Ex-Captain of Ajax and Europa League finalist might be worth giving more than three games to see what he adjust to in the EPL. We’ve basically given Rooney the keys to the city and we KNOW his arrow is downward trending.
I have no idea what we have for a team and have watched every minute of every game. Lone striker... please make it stop... shocked to have 27 points but forever hopeful. Cnajfiehsnfjaidb - sorry that was me smashing my head against the keyboard... COYB - 😢

    Haha!
But its not just Sam's fault - these wankers literally can't pass forward....well, some can't pass at all. Maybe pass gas, but that's about it. Don't bother watching one minute of it. Horrendous.

It was like we had been teleported back 4 months today- utter shite. Martina can not continue to play, Kenny is not ready if he is then he’s not good enough- our full backs are the worst in the prem by a fucking street.

Its the half heartedness that kills me. You can bet in training they are sprinting, but when it comes to came day they are ambling around like they are on a country stroll. This needs to come from the big name, experienced players in the squad too. They should be screaming at people to get stuck in. When I play 5 a side and I see someone giving too much space or bottling a 50/50 you can get your fucking arse that they are going to know about it. We went through a spell of bottling 5 or 6 50/50's and no-one said a word, just Unsworth on the sideline looking like he was going to spit feathers.
I actually thought these 3 were some of the better 'attitudes' today. Keane was fucking shambolic not being tight enough, Gana just too lazy.Mirallas was doing a lot of closing and a lot of covering, especially when we were playing 4-4-2. Williams was the one stepping up, trying to be more aggressive and Schneiderlin was trying to cover 2 mens work because Gana couldnt hold his position. I watched Schneiderlin closely at times and he was in the places I expected him to be.
Spot on, money doesnt buy success.
I always said that I never wanted a money man to come in and buy all these big name players because that isnt the Everton way. We need to be able to keep our big players, and then build around them to create a young hungry team and not a group of players that are here for an inflated cheque.

The rot started with Moshiri sacking Martinez and throwing his money around in the direction of Koeman and Walsh, like most rich pricks they think they can buy success without knowing what they are doing.

Put this result in real perspective.
Soton have been known this season to be dull and toothless. They'd scored 9 league goals before today. They've scored 4 today, dominated possesson and had more shots than they know what to do with!
    That's how shocking we are.
Now you gents can argue amongst yourselves that this player doesn't do that, or that player doesn't do this, based on your own prejudice.
Truth is, bar Kenny, we have a full team of players that are not doing the bare basics correctly. We can't pass more than a few yards, the tracking is half hearted, the marking deplorable, pressing half hearted, challenges heartless. The list goes on.
Players need to stand up. Not just player A or player B. All of them.
Pathetic what they've done today. Pathetic.

williams is even worse because he believes himself to be above every one else.
keane is complete wank - I'd love to know what injury he has.
gana can go and take morgan with him.

Weve constantly signed the "better" players from relegated teams and now we look like becoming one of them.

At least its one goal better than against Atalanta. At this rate we will get a draw by mid December.

Unsworth does not have the confidence of the dressing room, the players do not trust or rate him.
No wonder the atmosphere is so toxic.
We must get a new manager this week.

Just to throw another stat in.  There is only one team in the league who has a worse goal difference than us and that is the bottom team, who outplayed us today.

I can accept sticking with Unsworth but not if we are waiting for someone like Silva. Id prefer a bigger name that makes it (Uns)worth the wait.

when he took over hull they had 1 win in ten games - he won 8 in 22
Reality is this... Unsworth probably has to move away from Everton before moving back to Everton.  This experience will do him the world of good but is it the answer?  not really.  Im made up that we have a bit of feel-good factor back but we need someone with more experience.  He has had a rabbit in headlights look a couple of times.

go all out for silva.  Watford probably know he has his heart elsewhere and £8.5m is a big compo deal for a manager with 18 months remaining.

To be fair we have been seriously shit, and even under Unsworth the tactics and team have been the same, more passion and fight but still playing without pace and width until half time when he puts Lookman and Lennon on. Repeating the same mistakes as Koeman.
Then there is Vlesic, our most creative player so far this season and he has not been involved - why?
I love Unsworth, desperately want him to succeed, he is Everton through and through but I think he is out of his depth. Not because he laks the skill, just he does not have the experience.
We need an experienced manager, NOT ALADAYCE, most of our potential targets are not going to be available mid season, if we have to have a temporary manager till then do we trust Unsworth to get it right or look for someone else?
Maybe with time working with the squad he can get a settled team in place with width and pace. In January we can get a striker and that will help allot. Get rid of some of the trouble players, McCarthy, Mirallas, Williams, and if rumours are true then Morgan?
Question is do we take that risk?

Big Sam is where we are right now. Our squad is dreadful. First sign of staying up for a team is to get the defence right. Unsworth tried to throw two wingers in away at Leicester and got stuffed. People who say "he had to try something" or "he was bold". Those managers take you down. It's no good being bold and aggressive if you get stuffed and that's what we did. Unsworth has been beaten by Chelsea's kids and smashed by leicester. We still wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now, and that was his attacking team! Big Sam or Dyche would get the back sorted first and that's what we need. It's not a lack of ambition, it's a Billionaire and a Multi Millionaire trying to protect their money. and stay in the league. We'd do the same if it was our money........We wouldnt be gambling on some unknown from overseas.

The other factor to consider is the compatibility of our squad with that of the manager’s style.
It was mentioned that Dyche doesn’t play with a number 10, which as we know is an area we have an abundance of. Therefore if he came on board, would he struggle due to not having the players who can deliver what he requires?
I always thought a lot of Martinez’s views made a lot of sense (i.e. statistically you’re more likely to concede from a counter attack when taking a corner than actually score, therefore it’s better to take short corners and maintain possession in an attacking area rather than hit and hope a ball into the box) and wondered if a lot of his failures were down to the fact that the players he had were not capable of playing his system, rather than his system being the issue?
