  1. I never said Thorgan isn't highly rated. He clearly is, in Belgium. Most of us have never seen him play and his brother having a mostly good season for Chelsea means nothing. Borrowing his highly rated talent for a while will let the people who see a lot more than the likes of us in a player have the final say.
  2. John Rooney is related to Wayne Rooney so might be best to give young Thorgan the once over, first, before paying a penny for him. Loan with option to buy if he shows potential in the EPL.
  3. Chilean World Cup footage, 1962, on black and white newsreel. Brilliant. Russia & Columbia sharing the same training ground, the Battle of Santiago between Chile & Italy (one guy would have knocked Froch out - the ref (English) then sent the guy off who got knocked out!), the game between Brazil & Czechoslovakia described as "a poor game with far too much running about", another game where an injured player was carried off by his ankles and head and just left at the side of the pitch, photographers running on the pitch after each goal, with what look like Kodak instamatic cameras, to photograph the goalscorer and celebrations - then they sprint down the pitch if a penalty is given at the other end and the players have to wait for them before taking the kick. Half time Coca Cola $1, Fanta 80 cents Jimmy Greaves crawling on all fours towards a dog on the pitch which nobody else could catch in the England & Brazil game, he gets close to it and wrestles it to the floor - whatever happened to dogs on the pitch in football.... maybe people can't afford a ticket for them at today's prices....
  4. I suppose Moyes will get the blame for that, too!
  5. I've had better days and I come on her for a browse for 10 minutes and I'm greeted with this........ Only joking, and no offence but that's got about as much mileage as America claiming to have landed on the moon. I'm sure Everton don't give two shits about Ince joining Inter, or anybody else for that matter, let alone being "given hope" by a 22 year-old unproven no-mark and his gobshite father.
  6. Spurs have had around 20 managers in the last 30 years, sometimes 2 managers in one season on more than one occasion. It's likely Harry Redknapp is their longest serving manager in that time at about 3 seasons? Maybe him or Gerry Francis in the 1990s? Kiss of death to go there as manager, in my opinion. You're up against the club as well as the opposition from the outset. Pochettino is toast! (watch them finish 2nd or something stupid like that next season, now!)
  7. Until England clear out the old school, jumpers for goalposts brigade from the FA the national team will always be second or even third rate at best. They're as predictable as that brass band which follows them round. Terry Venables came close to breaking the mould in the 1990s but they soon saw him off. What was he thinking of?
  8. Great player. Would love to see him at Everton.
  9. I'm just glad the product of the self-proclaimed Guv'nor's baby batter will not be getting anywhere near an Everton shirt.
  10. Wellbeck makes Shola Ameobi look good. Wellbeck is shite. Really shite.
  11. I don't think he's bothered either way. He came to us in the last moments of August deadline day, with Foster tweeting it would be good to see him back at WBA by all accounts as a second season there was as good as done. He seemed as surprised as anybody when we nipped in for him, if that's the way it was, and he didn't seem to be clicking his heels, more "looking forward to continuing my development". Continuing his development is where he's still at, for me, so he isn't bothered where that is.
  12. I think this one's going to run and run...
  13. David Luiz going to PSG for £40m. Good business for Chelsea. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27553042
  14. Not bothered which so will go with QPR as I work with a Derby fan and wouldn't know where to start in wanting to kill someone stakes - "Yes no absolutely", "No Yes absolutely", "Absolutely", "It depends what we do with the information once it's out there"................ and so on, and so on, and so on......... Don't Derby hold the record for lowest number of points in top flight? Pundit Savage would also be banging on about what a great club they are when, in reality, they're nothing but sheep-shagging hillbillies. My first wife (I'm on my third) was from Derbyshire (Chesterfield), too. QPR it is, then! C'mon 'arry
  15. In which case they must have plans for him and he is their player. I want that Rakitic from Sevilla after seeing him the other night - totally different type of player and well off topic, I know, but he is one top player!
  16. I don't know if Barcelona have a reputation of spending big every season as Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, etc, seem to have been there for donkey's years but don't they have some sort of transfer embargo next season? If they do then they'll need numbers for Europe and/or La Liga and Copa Del Rey and Gerry will be one of those numbers. He isn't up to La Liga every week but he's worth a few substitute appearances for them to rest others.
  17. He sounds like a right gobshite. I hope he has as much success as Moyes did there.
  18. And would Real Madrid be just one game?
  19. Have cooled a bit on Bacca after watching him tonight, admittedly on tv. I think he might need a bit more time than PL defenders will give him. Rakitic is a definite, though (and Mbia).
  20. Stubbsesque defending by Sevilla there - brilliant! I think one defender tried to block one of the shots with his face!
  21. Rakitic looks like decent player, too - quick as well. We'll have him and Bacca.
  22. Just realised he looks like a mixture of David Luiz and Jerry Springer, which makes it worse.
  23. Will watch that/him with some interest. If Sevilla need to sell any club buying off them must have the advantage where price is concerned?
  24. Europa League final tonight, Sevilla vs Benfica. No specific preference for either club but will hope Sevilla win on the basis I really can't stand Benfica, their dickhead manager and everything they seem to think they stand for. So I do have a preference. It's definitely Sevilla - nice oranges for marmalade, too.
