I highly doubt that Moshiri, or Kenwright for that matter get involved in any form of the season ticket process, other than the price for budget purposes.

I'd assume that the season tickets are being dealt with by the hospitality department, who will more than likely have a Manager/Director that reports into the board.

they are responsible for the employees underneath them.  i would have thought when he got in the business end and front end would be evaluated and given improvements.  5 years on the same issues that plagued us when Bill had us mortgaged to the hilt and mismanaged by suntan bob, are still here.  as someone who works in the corporate world this is directly due to management.  I would have thought Sasha would have gotten this shit fixed or fired the person responsible and hire people to make sure it doesn't happen again.  Or work with a different outside vendor (if that's the case) who can deliver the product without issues and on time.

Is the CDC reputable? They have told us both they work and they don't work. And when the whole country was wearing masks, cases still climbed. Do they work? I'm sure. How effective? I don't think there is a consensus on that at all.

However, my point was more on the fact that children, even before shots were available,  represent the very lowest percentile across the board on infections, hospitalizations and mortality rate.

i see studies from Harvard, Mayo Clinic, etc all proving they are effective.  These are the best institutions in the country for health.  now can you argue how effective?  sure.  but they are more effective thank no mask.  that is not in doubt.

I was reading an article which was saying the State’s are heading for another wave of infections.

yeah the delta is raging over here, it is sad, governor for my state released the data, 98% of all hospitilizations in our state are unvaccinated.  you can't fix stupid.  they value their "freedom" more than their life.

"the science" doesn't tell us that. There have been zero cases of a child infecting a teacher in the US that I am aware of. It does certainly inhibit learning and teaching at the minimum. I really don't feel we should be making kids, especially younger ones wear masks in school, there isn't much to support it's necessary besides the sentiment you shared - however, I don't feel strong enough about to make a federal case over it - but if kids(their parents) or staff want to wear a mask, then by all means they should.

I might be inclined to wear it, just to avoid the hassle. airlines seem pretty aggressive, and even if you are "in the right", you will be right, but likely still removed from the plane. And that's a shitty way to start a holiday!  I had not worn a mask (besides very sporadically) until the Mrs and I took a trip to Panama last month. Wore it 24/7 when not in our room down there. Their country, their rules, and all in all, air travel included, a small price to pay for a great time exploring a new country. Well, to be fair, Panama isn't that new, but it was to us :)

im confused, everything i can find from reputable medical professionals says masks work (i work for a hospital).  so why don't masks work?

  5. just wondering what the influence of Moshiri has been on the business side.  sure we get uncle usmanov big sponsor's but it seems the actual day to day stuff like this season ticket fiasco, haven't changed.  which is sad, because you would think a billionaire would get his house in order.  just another thing to put in the old memory banks when it comes to moshiri and the russian who's on the board (sasha?).

PSG have to be the front-runners for the CL this season, ya? I mean I feel like that's said almost every year, but the business they've done in this window....best transfer window by a single team....ever?

yeah and i love their manager too, he's got all the pressure in the world now, everyone is expecting them to win it all.  i hope they do, i like poch and gana and some others there, would be nice for the french league too, it's looked down upon by the other big leagues as the runt of the big 5.

  7. great stuff guys, like usual i put the cart before the horse.  to get into the Shield you have to win a trophy, so it's kinda a mute point because we would have already won something :)  but it's interesting to see this info here.  i wonder if there was someone some iteration where we lost a cup final or something but got to play the community shield (not sure that's possible) and won and that would be the better question, would that count and be celebrated?  seems it would still be split opinion.

The battle raging here in the States is currently on to require/not require masks for some 50 million school children or not. And as always the pro-con is so clouded by politics and special interests, it's maddening. Luckily mine are past that age, and my wife who taught 3rd graders for 26 years was forced to retire last year last fall (forced back into classroom against Dr. advice), so as she says "not my circus, not my monkeys. Shit-show regardless.

my kids are school age and are required to wear masks, not a big deal really.  if it helps save lives or makes people feel safer i don't see what the big deal is.

Didn't they want upwards of £25m for him?

you get what you pay for, he can start immediately and is up to speed in the league.  players were released on decent wages, we've gotten rid of others, should be enough for a signing like that.  not to mention kean will be going i reckon, and potentially (iwobi?  please, pretty please) others as well.  also screw FFP, we aren't qualifying for europe this year anyways.

With Grealish going to City, I would expect to see Bernardo Silva's playing time to reduce at City.

I would love to see us put a loan bid in for him. Quality player, composed on the ball and great work rate and he could start anywhere behind the front man.

I would love him but he’s not going to want to defend for 70 minutes, I don’t see it happening

Oh my lord you've joined the "straw man" defence brigade? I'm out of here (because I don't really understand the concept, other than having the the feeling that it's people with a superiority complex talking bollocks😂).

    wikipedia

A straw man is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted, but instead replaced with a false one. One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man"

They might not be world beaters but they would all start here. Tierney was Arsenals best player last season, he is surprisingly good, far better than Coleman.

At Leicester you have Suyuncu, Vardy and Fofana who have come directly from relatively unrecognised clubs. Tielemans came from Monaco but he hadn't done a great deal there following signing from Anderlecht.

I am not sure where you rank the Portuguese league but plenty of City and Wolves signings have come from there. Zinchenko and Jesus came from nowhere.

Even across the park, Robertson came from Rangers to play at a high level at Hull. Mane went from Salzburg to fit right in at Southampton. Suarez didnt do badly coming from the dutch league either.

The league is full of players coming from smaller leagues and making an impact. It is all about the player. If they are good enough, they will make it anywhere, but I would agree that some players suit certain leagues better.

i wouldn't count tielemans, soyuncu, fofana, mane (i consider the "big leagues" england spain italy germany france), they all came from those bigger leagues.  we are talking lower leagues.  your points about the portuguese and brazilians are well taken though, you're right they have produced some nice players recently.  thank you for answering my question

So you're suggesting "recent history" trumps ten years ago? How does that work?

where have i said it trumps anything?  i asked a question with a specific parameter that you either disregarded or unintentionally missed.  not a big deal.  when i say that you give a straw man as a retort.

Ndidi, Soucek, Tierney. And these are just the guys who have been rousing successes. There's countless others who, while not world-beaters, are certainly good players.

i wouldn't consider any of the 3 you mentioned world beaters, they would just be good.  VVD and Kante would be the World-beaters.  I would expect a Starting RB for us to be better than Tierney to be honest, i don't think he's that good, coleman on his day is way better than tierney (despite them playing different positions).  this is kinda my point, we need quality immediately.  please let me know other than the 5 listed who these ubiquitous "countless others" are.  because i'm talking quality players here, not a bench player, we are trying to get a Starting RB.

We can’t be naive though MJB. Good players can come from any league. A good scout will find players in these lower ranked leagues.

Not saying he is one, but not going to rule him out either without seeing him, just because he is from a certain league.

yes i used to think the same, davy klaasen, cenk tosun, etc changed my opinion.   i'm all about signing those players to learn/grow and be the diamonds in the rough.  but i don't expect johnny scottish league (or similar) to come in and perform day one, if they do great!  but i think it's way too high an expectation for those lower leagues.  there are outliers, yes i'm aware.  but the flops outnumber them.

Didn’t we all get excited about Brands being the master of discovering these low-priced hidden gems when he came? Well, maybe this is an example…

yes we all want that, but right now we don't have time to develop him, we need a starter this second.  belgian league young guy doesn't scream "premier league starter day 1"
