  1. great point. hopefully RM now has seen the need to get the targets in immediately so we can start the season with our lineup and go forward. waiting 3-4 matches to get the players in will only hurt us.
  2. nothanks i'd rather besic, barry, barkley, gibson and ledson play in the DCM roles.
  3. fantastic analysis http://www.espnfc.us/blog/marcotti-musings/62/post/2485901/transfer-market-lessons-for-goalkeepers-and-defenders
  4. youre right mike just read it could be your england or colombia followed by china or cameroon in the quarterfinals. semis here we come!
  5. would be nice with a 4231 with our mids of podolski, mirallas, gerry and lukaku up top.
  6. U.S. Win 1-0, win our group and on to the knockout round. draw is today or tomorrow I believe.
  7. big match tonight for the US ladies. win or draw and we're first seed, anything else and we're likely second. Come on yanks!!
  8. just finished an autiobiography on the lead singer of earth wind and fire, good read. now reading a 1000 pager in the form of the Che Guevara Biography. Revolutionary and Socialist, i'm looking forward to reading about his life.
  9. not watching anything anymore, sold the TV to pay bills and i'm reading more books lately. maybe i'll start a "what are you reading thread "
  10. as a child a tornado went down my street, tore the roof's off a few houses (2 houses next door), but nothing happened to us or our home. we all slept through it!!! granted there were train tracks behind our house to i'm sure the noise was familiar to us.
  11. with the way yedlin plays for the US team i wouldn't be surprised if he's moved to the wing. his pace is blistering and has a solid pass/cross on him, his defending is not great.
  12. my point joe is the window is short because they make it short. he could start every game at fulham barring injury for the next couple years without a problem. if he does decent a move to a premier league team surely in the works. that's a longer career than 2-3 years at man city, a year on loan, and a year in russia/mls. sure the pay is more, but as for career moves it's a killer. that's why i was saying it's all about the payday. he could easily get bought by us, newcastle, soton, etc and get playing time, get time to grow and make mistakes, that's a career. playing 2 games as a 10 min sub and being lambasted for not scoring 3 goals and assisting 2 and then being loaned out and then sold is not a career. he's not doing it for the love of the game.
  13. if falcao ends up at chelsea like is being said on loan, i just don't see how anyone challenges them for the title. their lineup and bench are insane. i can't see man city doing much, toure getting even older and they need a complete rehaul to be honest. man united will spend like crazy but i just don't see that crap side winning it, van gaal will piss off more marquee players and they will implode, and arsenal? i just don't see them being able to beat chelsea, i see chelsea way more physical and pragmatic and jose has wengers number.
  14. great point, i honestly wouldn't want that spoiled brat or his dad here anyways, he's a bitch and i want men on the pitch. that rhymed. lol, first league that came to mind that does that honestly. could go to MLS to be the big thing and star in a subpar league with stevie G too, just was trying to make a point honestly joe i've taken many pay cuts and moved to do work that i love for less money. money doesn't make you happy contrary to what the footballers think. i'd rather work for 50k a year and be happy than make 5m a year and not be. i did that for a time and realized really quickly that it wasn't worth it. unfortunately for these footballers, they're still children and often make the decision like roberts to "go for the money" meanwhile his career will nose dive and he will be micah richards/guidetti in 2-3 years. you'd think he would jsut look at their former youth players and see the pattern, but i guess money talks right? i guess through all this its ten is right it is negative. good banter here though, always glad to be proved wrong.
  15. yes i said this earlier this summer when pardew was linked with him at palace. surely we are a better destination than that club. i love cabaye, was amazing with newcastle.
  16. then it has nothing to do with the clubs, it has to do with players greed and ten there is nothing we or any other club can do to stop that. then podolski can have fun playing in russia where its subpar footy with ex prima donnas and locals, have fun dude, bring a coat.
  17. negative for them, positive for clubs like us. he'll be available in 2-3 years after seeing little to no time and they have given up on him. instead of overpaying for him we'll get him on a steal and he will get his confidence back and be great. get your payday now roberts, because it will be back to 40k a week with us
  18. newcastle (H), newcastle (A), Leicester
  19. yeah i'm guessing lennon. the almohamady link i think was just everton trying to get levy to drop the price.
  20. He will I believe. If he had a stellar year this year for Everton I think he'd give him a chance but now? I doubt it. He will give the other guys a shot.
  21. Yes and with the way Guzan is playing hopefully Stefan is the starter by the World Cup. Guzan and Howard are past it.
  22. Hell yes, 6.5m? Without a doubt even at 30 years of age.
  23. Didn't you say this would happen mike? If this is true I hope the authorities arrest him ASAP and get this over with.
  24. Yes wild match. Went to extra time and we lost on penalties. Well done though. Germany knocked out by Mali, more Africans than euros in the semis!
