I played against Boreham Wood for Maidenhead United in the early 1970's. Can't give any pointers as I think their team may have changed.

If Russia invade Ukraine we should send the SAS in, occupy the Kremlin and saw Putin's table in half.

I have no doubt that the USA will step in physically, if needed, but Europe as a whole needs to step up and and defend themselves too.
Well Germany have done their bit. They sent 5,000 steel helmets to Ukraine.

Very sad to read this John, after sixty-three years together it must be heartbreaking.
Can I suggest that maybe you sign up for the Macmillan online community here https://community.macmillan.org.uk/
Very supportive place, there are groups for different types of cancer and cancer experiences so you'll be able to get specific help for whatever you both are going through and maybe more info on the pros and cons of treatment. It's very difficult to take in when you're first told so stepping back and talking to people who've been through it, or similar, can be very helpful.
My mum was diagnosed at about the same age and she refused treatment, hard but we accepted it; she chose quality of life over quantity so we just set about making the time she had left the best it could be.
Give her a hug from TT mate.
Thanks Mike. Some very good advice there. At the moment we need all the help we can get.

The crazy thing about her indoors situation is that the cancer is asbestosis. When she was a teenager, she worked for several years in the offices of BBA (British Belting and Asbestos). Even in an office job, she obviously picked it up from somewhere. Taken 70 years to show itself.

Daughter took her indoors to the hospital yesterday for the biopsy result. Worst news possible. At the moment, her indoors is adamant that she is not going down the chemo route. She is 86 in a few weeks and she thinks that is a fair run.
Devastated doesn't cover it after 63 years of married life.

Can we get that Serbian bloke to open our batting? It took the Aussie's two weeks to get him out.

We may not have an option. Considering our position in the league and the way we are performing, we are in Allardyce territory. Arrrrrgh!

I think everyone is well aware of the trouble we are in , not believing Benitez has had a fair chance yet does not equate to being blind to the obvious fact we are shit
Norwich have now won three games so there are two teams as crap as us.

Probably still better than all of our center backs.
Mina's not bad when he isn't injured.

Let's hope so, because my younger daughter is still recovering from lung damage from her first infection (18 months ago) and I've probably just passed along to her the latest variant.
Steve, hope the New Year sees all your family back to full health.

We should cut our losses, bring them home to avoid further embarrassment.

I suspect there may have also been a bit of lobbying by teams near the bottom of the Premiership (Watford, Leeds, Southampton etc.,) who would be adversely affected by a Burnley win. It should never have got this far, as another poster said, 'if it had been Liverpool, they would have got the OK by return.'

Was in the supermarket checkout queue behind an old dear. Must have been even older than me! When it was her turn she found she was £4.36 short and was visibly upset. I did the right thing though and put all the items she couldn't afford back on the shelves. Well, it is Christmas.

It's quite amusing to see how opinions vary from one thread to another. I've been reading over and over, on the Benitez thread, how we're doing so poorly because we're missing our best defender, Mina. Here I'm reading that he's nowhere near our best defender and we should move him along. Which is it?
Personally, I think he is a strong defender, but his injury record has been unfortunate. Do we stick with him in hopes of better luck going forward, or do we cash in on him and remove his large wage bill? Personally, I'm in two minds about this one. If Benitez is willing to trust our younger players, then move him along. If instead he wants to bring in another older player, then forget it.
I agree with Steve here. I always feel more comfortable if I see Mina's name on the team sheet. Shame he does seem injury prone though.

Looking at the stats (19% possession etc) I have worked out our tactics - 0 - 0 draw. If Chelsea score there is no Plan B.

Had a weird day today. Found a hatful of money and got chased by a guy with a guitar.
