  1. When I played, about half a dozen times in a season, I used to get fairly major heart palpitations during a game. Fortunately, it never happened during a crucial stage of play as I was unable to move for several seconds.  I never went to see a doc as I didn't want to be stopped from playing.

That's probably connected to the atrial fibrilation that I have had for the last 20 years.  I used to get about a dozen incidents per year (heart going at 230 per minute on one of the occasions I was in hospital).  Saw a new specialist about 18 months ago and he changed my medication.  Haven't had a single incident since!

Hope the lad pulls through OK but fear it is the end of his playing career.

Never scored for England, missed the last penalty he took for England, and isn't a regular penalty-taker... can totally see why the dick head thought he should take it over the player who was supposed to be next in line.

    Big time charlie.

Quoted in the Telegraph Sport today, Henderson says  'I was confident, but it was a good save. It wasn't a great penalty, a good height for the goalkeeper, but I am not too bothered'.

If he's not bothered he shouldn't be there.

I've not been through social media to check, but people are suggesting that something happened behind the scenes - not one player (apart from Richarlison) has posted about Carlo on social media, which is a bit unusual considering most always post a little paragraph about how much they've learned, wishing them well etc.

I must say his comments in his first press conference are incredibly disrespectful, I just feel like I've properly been taken for a ride here - doesn't really seem to give (or gave) a shit.

During the second half of the season particularly, the problems with the team (squad) were there for all to see.  In the 'matches' thread on two Everton websites the same criticisms were coming up after each game. Poor midfield, lack of pace, lack of effort.  Obvious to spectators, even more obvious to an Ancelotti but nothing done.  I honestly don't think he was bothered. He knew he was going a long time ago.

  4. Talking to grandson a while ago after a couple of poor results (Sheffield Utd and one other). I mentioned that I had seen a couple of Youtube interviews with Ancelotti after these games and said that I was concerned by his complete lack of interest in the proceedings. He was a total misery throughout.  In one, he thought that the session was over but another question cropped up.  You could see the annoyance on his face.  I said to grandson 'he will be gone in the summer, he will not be sacked he will decide to leave.'

Not surprised by this, I don't think he really had his heart in the job from day 1.

I never post on this page but after today’s result and our league position I’d be very surprised if Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t consider his position. Yes he has to shoulder some blame but by god the squad he has is absolutely terrible.

Will he really want to take this project on another season?

I agree.  Following  the Wolves game Ancelotti was interviewed on You tube.  He came across as totally disinterested and miserable. When he thought it was over but there was another question, you could see the irritation on his face. I think he may make the decision to go in the summer.

Only Everton could get the most decorated manager in the game and look like relegation candidates.

Thinking about this and the common denominators.... Mainly being the players - where does the manager start getting questioned???

For me the players and their mentality is a huge one.  We've got some seriously weak willed players.  I'm looking at Richarlison, Digne, Coleman as supposed spirited players.  Not for me.

It's bad enough having Gylfis and Gomes who don't even pretend to be "up and at em" give me the ball and I'll win us the game.   We have some supposed captain type players who just aren't...... It's like going to the doctor's and expecting the bloke in the white jacket to sort your minging foot out......  Don't try and wear the white jacket if you ain't the doctor - get back behind the reception counter with Gylfi and Andre. If we don't have a doctor then that's fine - it's better than looking at some bloke in a white jacket who barely knows how to diagnose athlete's foot and expecting an answer.

Something happens when they cross that white line - subliminally they have collectively got to know eachother that well - that no matter who manages them - they can seriously get any fucker the sack.

I don't think Ancellotti is the problem - but he is part of the current problem.  Is his son Davide a bonafide coach???  Has Carlo taken a figurehead role and allowed nepotism to muddy a great CV by indulging his sons need for a career?

What's Duncs role??? Surely to fuck he can't be happy or is he too mellow?

Agree with this. It is down to Ancelotti, the buck stops with him.  We have had some games this season where we have played some excellent football and had good wins against good sides, so the quality is there.  Unfortunately, for most games, that quality disappears.  Players can't be arsed.  No effort, no work rate.  First, it is down to the manager. The problem has been staring him in the face for most of the season.  Second, we need a 'Roy Keane' type captain who can sort out the players on the pitch.

Like someone posted on here, am not interested in the final games.  Not bothered if we lose and if we win then its too little too late.

  7. Brilliant, well done Zoo2.0.  You have no idea how your life will change (for the better).  Forget about all the 'old' priorities, you will be making a long list of new ones. Best wishes to you and Mrs Zoo2.0.

Some good news to share. After being unemployed for the better part of a year and a half (bar working on a film last summer and a month at a restaurant), I have my first full-time job in forever! I'm the personal assistant to the CEO of a start-up real estate company based in NYC.

The company is growing exponentially, so I'm excited for the possibility of growth/raises. And it's all remote for now, which allows me to still be here in Minnesota, but it gives me a job when I move back to NYC next year, which was something I desperately wanted.

Only 3 days in but I'm really looking forward to this being the perfect job to pay the bills, while I venture down a new career path in community organizing and outreach.

    Everything's coming up dunlopp!

Good news that, really pleased for you.  I have been through similar.  I took a voluntary redundancy after never being out of work for 40 years. I got a good package but still had to find another job.  I had two in the first 18 months, neither of which was right.  I was then fortunate to get what was the perfect job for me and I stayed there until I retired.

Hope it all works out for you dunlopp.

this is why we can’t have nice things.

fuck the fines, stick them in jail (turn the Nightingale hospitals into prisons for extra irony) for a month and let the criminal record follow them like a mark for the rest of their lives the selfish fuckers.

im also further enraged by the littering. Angers me so much

You and me both Matt.  I actually found a discarded mask on my drive, just yards from the front door.  Could only have been dropped by a delivery man.  The drive is too long for it to have come from someone out in the street.  Whoever dropped it was  obviously taking it off as they were going back to their van, so they must have known they had dropped it.  Just couldn't be bothered picking it up.

Tonight has been one of the only occasions where we’ve missed clear chances all season - I think we’re statistically the most clinical team in the league based on the xG data. I agree, finishing was poor tonight, but it’s not been a season-long trend.

Not sure what this tells us?  All the teams above us in the league have scored more goals than us and two teams below us have scored more.  Does 'clinical' include missed chances?

The most depressing thing about the missed chances was that for 3 of them there was only the goalie to beat but the goalie didn't have to make a save as the shot went straight at him and hit him. There is no excuse for that from a Premiership striker. For the Aguero's and Kane's of this world, the ball would have settled neatly in the corner of the goal.
