  1. Think he should be allowed to represent his country for as long as he wants to be honest, he's Irish - wasn't born in Everton so has no blood ties to us. It's a bit different in England, but most places in the world country comes first (and perhaps rightly so). I want Seamus, and anyone else in the team to play for their countries for as long as they can. If they get injured/tired then so be it, part and parcel of being an international footballer.
  2. From what I understand (so could well be wrong) the Premier League clubs have agreed amongst themselves to block players travel to red listed countries, I don't think that there is a rule exactly, just a blanket refusal to sanction such leave as for South American matches. I assume that Martinez was the exception, or that Aston Villa were not that bothered about losing players and/or backtracked from the initial agreement. I assume it'll get a bit messy though, as I can't see the Brazilian FA for example being happy that the core of their squad; Alisson, Thiago, Richarlison, Fred, Firmino, Gabriel Jesus being in the UK and not a yellow shirt.
  3. Work permits in England are an absolute joke when it comes to footballers, we're so far behind the times compared to the continent. I'm saying this not just as an Everton fan, but as someone who wants free trade throughout football, the restrictions placed on clubs and players in the UK are unnecessary and just means that clubs in this country will need to spunk three or four times what they should have when a potential prospect "makes it".
  4. Confirmed at Mallorca, Hoppe we don't live to regret this one.
  5. Despite still being young, he's like a fine Rhine - just gets better with age.
  6. Multiple reports stating that Real Madrid have ended their interest in Mbappe, so looks as though Richarlison will be staying. In truth, not sure whether I'm happy or sad about that but at least on the bright side gives us time to find a suitable replacement. I think Mbappe will sign a pre-contract in January, so think Charlie will be off next summer.
  7. Happy days, have two weeks off and then fight fit against Burnley. I'll admit that I proper get into England during the major tournaments now that we look like we give a shite, but I'd be happy to bubble wrap our players through all the qualifiers. I heard that it was a suspected toe injury, so probably nothing too serious.
  8. I honestly think that Garth Crooks gets out of bed three hours before he's due to leave the house as he keeps getting his head stuck from trying to put it up his jumpers sleeve. The bloke is an absolute maniac when it comes to football opinions. "Commendable for Andros Townsend to push through the trauma of playing with convicted lunatic Jordan Pickford and put in a good performance, I'm sure his thoughts were with VVD as soon as Everton scored the winner".
  9. Diallo was set to join Feyernoord on loan, but was injured in training this week so will now stay. I wouldn't be going anywhere near Dan James either, he's only decent when in acres of space because he can use his pace, against a low block or organised defences he's completely wasted. The only good games he's had in a Manchester United shirt have been against Leeds, simply because he's had space to run into and attack. For me, we just wouldn't be able to play to his strengths enough. Ironically, I think the best place for him would be Leeds United.
  10. What, you want someone to basically gain access to Everton's accounts ?! Of course there will be a loan fee, it's standard practice. Just because the fee hasn't been announced and/or is confidential doesn't mean that it isn't there. PSG will have paid a fee, as have Juventus.
  11. Worth noting that Porto's playing Arouca at home, who came up from the second tier last season through the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, as said above I'd have him though so excited to see what he can bring to the team.
  12. Nailed on penalty, he moves his arm towards the ball and pushes it away. Had it been just off his knee then no, but he moves his arm to clear his lines - he knows exactly what he's doing. Just annoys me how Anthony Taylor looks at VAR for literally 0.5 seconds (basically, he didn't make the decision the VAR official did) and he then shit the bed by booking about 14,327 Chelsea players, just seemed to cause more chaos than necessary. Sadly, nailed on Liverpool win now. At home and with an extra man - it'd be seriously impressive if Tuchel can mastermind a point (or three) here.
  13. Nah, I don't think so. Both teams will refuse to budge and it'll roll on until January (at which case Mbappe leaves for free with a pre-contract at Madrid).
  14. I'd be happy to sell Richarlison to be honest, especially as if we get €100m can reinvest the money with Rondon and Maupay. .
  15. Radio saying Richarlison took his top off and kicked a water bottle at full time in anger. I'll drive you to Paris myself, what time do you want picking up?
  16. Oh yeah, I've always said that Ancelotti's football was painful (honestly, on par with Allardyce for me) but I let him off with it because he had the pull to bring in world class players such as James and had won silverware for fun so bought into his long term project. Benitez, so far has played football that is much better on the eye and you could argue that it'll bring us better results.
  17. I am, but then I realise that this is Everton and I've been here before. Must admit that it's better than a kick in the bollocks and after the first 45 minutes against Southampton, I didn't think we would be sat here in the position we are currently in. TalkSport saying that DCL went straight down the tunnel, confirmed that it's a toe injury.
  18. Fucking hell JP, don't make me panic like that. Would be bringing off either Richarlison, Gray or Townsend and bringing on another centre back too, such as Branthwaite. No need to push for a third so keeping the clean sheet and riding out these last 10 minutes would get my backing. Doucoure continues to impress too, my MOTM by a mile so far. Edit: Gray off for André Gomes.
  19. Townsend MOTM for smacking the ball out of Richarlison's hands and letting DCL take the penalty - just a shame Coleman didn't slap him one. Also, agreed @badaids.
  20. Was just going to say this, after having a class first half Richarlison is being a bit of a balloon now, would just whip him off for Iwobi before he snaps someone in two and gets a three game ban.
  21. Richarlison needs a fucking bollocking at FT, not the first time that he's hogged the ball when we win a penalty and thrown a tantrum because he can't take it. All it does it put pressure on us and takes it away from the opposition, fair play to DCL for blocking it out and putting us two ahead. Honestly boils my piss stuff like that, would be ripping into him in the changing room.
  22. Being in the top 10%, did you finish prematurely?
