I'd say that throwing him in against a Spurs side where we only lumped long balls to him probably wasn' good management, especially when he then left him out of games where we were going to have a lot more control. I also don' think talking about him in the press like he did was great management.
We are just lucky that Walsh did a good job scouting this fella and his mentality. He is a fighter and he has shown that.

I think he looks a very shrewd purchase. Next season with a preseason under his belt, he could be great!

That was so much better today. We controlled the game, we were aggressive in defence and we kept recycling possession and like I said at half time, as long as we kept our heads and stayed patient the goals would come.
There were a lot of positives to take from the game, Baines looked as good as ever, Tosun showed his class and took his goal really well, Bolasie actually turned up, but I think the biggest positive for me was the discipline and awareness of Davies and Rooney in midfield. They were great, it felt like they made a lot of Interceptions and a fair few tackles too. Their use of the ball was good, they kept moving, making themselves available and worked us up field.

He should always start. That 1-2 with Baines was exquisite.

It was great to see Baines is back and made an impact out there. Bolasie was pretty good actually today and when your wings are working like this, you'll get chances to score.
Everton played good today and I am happy to see that Cenk scored a good goal but something bugged me during the game. Those back passes from the midfielders to the defenders while frontline getting into their positions for a possible move. I've seen a lot of nonsense back passes.
    Good game, good win.

A lot of people on here don’t like Chris hughton, not sure why.  He did well with a tiny Norwich club and now has done the same with Brighton.  To be honest I haven’t followed them At all or watched them other than our match.  I don’t know how they like to lineup or what style them play.

i think we will win just because it’s home and we’re due one.

I really don't know where to start with todays game. From the very first whistle, you could tell that they were going to cause us a lot of problems. They had a game plan, and in fairness I thought we did in the first half, but in the second they changed their personnel and we did make changes eventually but they were all for the worse.
Both Keane and Cuco were all over the place. Terrible positioning, weak defending and they just didnt want to be there today. Burnleys big boys just blew them away. Keane and Cuco are both big lads themselves but they didnt want it enough. With Cuco, you know that, he just isnt the type of player to give a shit, maybe he is just that laid back, but Keane is meant to be a traditional English centre half, who had come through the Burnley school of hard knocks but here he was playing like an absolute bottle job. The one small incident that summed up his mentality was when a 30-40 yard ball was played into Barnes and Keane had clearly had enough of the physical battle and just let him control the ball and turn, not even threatening to put in a challenge.
Ahead of these two was a midfield 3 that was unfortunately destined to struggle. For all his brain farts in possession, Rooney is good in that deeper role because he has a brain. He has the experience to see whats happening around him and control Gana and to some extent Davies. Davies is best buzzing around, Gana is a headless chicken without someone marshalling him (which was witnessed so many times today, he was involved in a lot of their first half chances), and Gylfi also isnt a natural centre midfielder and he doesnt think like a player that wants to control the centre of the park. Davies was pretty terrible on the ball for most of the game but his work rate, energy and forward runs give us an extra dynamic and we lost that when he went off. He presses more aggressively too and we just lost that. Gylfi played well, he influenced the game in an attacking sense but in my opinion its no surprise to see Burnely create as many chances as they did. That midfield is not designed to protect their goal.
DCL was a passenger and for the most part Walcott was too. It was a bit pointless DCL being on the pitch in my opinion, he adds nothing from that position and yet Vlasic cant make the bench? Walcott was really poor, almost reverting to type from his Arsenal days. Poor finishing, poor decision making and a real mixed bag in respect of his passing and crossing. He is a quality player, a real technician and the first couple of games he made a real impact because you could see him wanting to make a difference but the last two games he has got sloppy again and he should have made the telling contribution to sealing the 3 points in that first half.
Tosun probably did as good as he could in the circumstances. Whoever plays up top for us at the moment is in for a tough time and I dont think you can really say that he could have done much more. His confidence visibly improved after scoring and looked like he might get another, but after the break he was completely isolated, terrible service and he was chasing lost causes.
I didnt really get the substitutions/bench either. Firstly if Baines is fit he should be starting and not sat on the bench. Secondly, if you want to start trying to control the game more by bringing on Rooney, keep Davies buzzing around, take off DCL and move Siggy wide. The average position map shows that he was pretty much playing their anyway and after the change, bar one chance, I thought his impact waned, so at least then you have your 3 controlling players, in the positions they have been when we have been at our best. Then you still have the chance to go 2 up top later on, but with Cenk and Niasse. Finally, Bolasie needs to play some games somewhere and until he shows any signs of actually being a footballer again he should be nowhere near the first team. Vlasic is already twice the player Bolasie is, I find it mind blowing that his space on the bench is being taken by him.
As far as the manager goes, he should be out the door now. We aren't getting anything out of him as manager. We are worse defensively than under Koeman. We are just as bad from an attacking perspective too. Waiting for Fonseca is a dangerous game unless something has been agreed already. Wenger could be gone by the summer, Conte too, so an up and coming manager like him could be lined up for one of those two, so unless something is signed, get Silva in because he cant be any worse than this shower and then we can hopefully finish the season with a flourish and the players will hopefully feel like they are playing for their Everton careers, not just waiting for a new man to come in.

God players can make things happen on their own, they dont need it on a plate for them.
We all want him to succeed. For his sake and Everton’s, but he does need time to adjust, you can see that. I do tho k that once his first goal goes in, he will settle and grow into the premier league.
Lets hope we see him today. Wouldn’t mind seeing him start today.

To be fair he brought him on last week and apparently wanted to bring him on the previous match but for injury’s.
He may be easing him in slowly and building up how game time. Admittedly last week was the wrong way to bring him in.
There is a player in there, you can see with his touch and strength. He just needs time to adjust to the pace. Hope we can get ahead in a game and then bring him on with the team on the front foot.... we may see a different outcome then.
He looks the type that once the first goes in, the gates will open.

Its not about Cenk or Niasse, its about team. There is no playmaker, we respect rooney but he is end. You must carry the ball to Cenk or Niasse.

We have no players in the middle with the combination of bottle and passing ability. Tosun isn’t lost or unfit - he’s just expecting some level of quality/vision from the midfield that just isn’t there. To be honest I feel Tosun could do the job in the midfield as he results in a positive more times than a negative when on the ball. The problem is he’s not on the ball enough. I blame Big Sam 40 for this.
We’ll survive this year and hope to stave off regulation next year also. Anyone thinking any different is not watching games nor familiar with entire roster. Dark days at Goodison.

That front line (sig/tosun/walcott) should tear teams apart, but without baines and coleman to feed them they may as well be playing in a different stadium.

This looks a match for Tosun. We need more quality up front, he will have some space and time on the ball and have Davies, Siggy and Walcott buzzing around him.

Another signing that we need to question Walsh about IMO.
Not because I think Tosun is shite but because we needed to get a striker in that could hit the ground running due of the position we found ourselves in, not a striker that needed to bed in and would be unable to contribute. What the hell was the bloke doing for months?!
If it'd have been a summer signing then I could understand it - you can give them pre-season and the first couple of months to get used to things. But a January signing like this one is made for the impact they can have in the final stretch of the season.

We pulled him out of the Champions league to put him on our bench. I'm sure Cenk is not happy and probably regrets the time he left Besiktas. The lad is striving for action and our club is risking another expensive flop by trashing his confidence. Yes, he probably needs time to settle in, but on the pitch! Absolutely bad attitude from our side.

Pretty sure the players have given up on Sam as well.
Glad his appointment has Walsh's name to it, should be the nail in his coffin.
I will (unfairly some may say) blame him for the current mess we're in.
Strategic void player appointments. No plan. Awful manager. Too many changes. Too many players earning and doing nothing.
All of it can fuck off.

Who amongst us is surprised? We all knew this selection was ridiculous yet fat arrogant Sam did it anyway. Surely we can pay him off now. Who the hell bought Tosun if Sam doesn’t fancy him? And who the hell bought Mangala? Who is supposed to be the leader in this team?
This season is a complete write off now so start the rebuild with a real manager now. Seriously, get shut tonight.

Anyway, this is the first Everton match that ı wear blues t-shirt . I bought it last week from London. The security in Manchester airport opened my  bag and see my New Everton shirt. He said “rubbish”, he said he is a Liverpool fan, Then ı took the Everton uniform ( FA CUP FINAL) and kiss it. He was angry:)
We are now fans of Everton!
