Upsets me that we are so shite that I'd take Dendoncker. Although the silver lining is that his surname sounds fantastic.
Agree with both points

Can we afford either is the question
No, we can’t.
whatever the price we’ll put some bullshit offer in which will get rejected out of hand.

Massive ‘confidence player’
Seems ok at times, but any little mistake and then it’s car crash defending.
Hope the club ship him out, but Mina has to go first -

Irrelevant though. We could have all the money in the world but if we've just had the shitshow of last season vs Arsenal...
not necessarily.
January transfer window, then absolutely.
Summer window, every team starts afresh.
Early days of old Lego-hair they were calling for him to be sacked and now look at them
Possibly a moot point, but if you have people in the club who can sell the project to a player, then anything is possible.
And money always talks too.
Just an opinion tho

This was never going to happen whether the rumours were true or not
Imagine if this was a couple of years ago when we were cash rich and could’ve afforded him tho.
What a signing he’d be.Instead we’re left with the legacy of Klaasen et al

Don't agree with that at all.
Everything else being equal, I would take a taller player over a smaller player every day of the week. There are always exceptions to every rule that can be sighted, but if I have limited funds and want to bring in a number six - a taller , well built physically (or at least average height and build) dominant players who can win the headers and can out muscle the opposition would be high on my list of attributes. To go for a below average build player means he would really need to have outstanding attributes in other departments to more than make up for that. Gilmour is not in that category for me.
Depends what you want your ‘6’ to be.
Midfield enforcer or ball player.Personally I prefer a ball player in there.
But it’s game of opinions

Far too rich for our blood then.
Yep.
Loan deal seems to our best offer for ……… well anyone really.

Far too much, not sure he’s worth it.

I really hope that isn't true or we're even more fucked than we thought.
Got a feeling we’re fucked.
I know lots of lazy journalism out there but everybody has been making signings and we’ve made 1, with 3 weeks to go, knowing our squad is shite and we’re seemingly unable to do anything about it
-
I do, yes
Just don’t think he would offer anything.
We’ve made this mistake before, on more than one occasion
-
He’s fast
Can’t think of anything else he doesAvoid, and the spend the cash elsewhere

Sell our best player and bring in a 36 year old as a replacement.
Would be peak Everton that

40m he’ll be gone
That’s what worries me.
It’s not exactly crazy money is it.
Decent young player with the ‘English’ premium added on.
Still very affordable.
-
I have a terrible feeling we’ll sell him.
The financial clusterfuck we find ourselves in means someone will agree to it.I have zero confidence in our board
-
-
I’m a bit Gutted.
Stupid really.
He was never coming was he.makes it worse we’ll be getting winks and Lingard instead
-
I quite like ex-players being involved.
However that’s probably naive on part. And quite possibly where we’ve been going wrong all these years. It’s not like our ex-players were serial winners themselves was it.
Wish him good luck for the future and will always be a blue

This is the kind of signing that has put us in the situation we are in.
Approaching 30 after a comfortable existence at a bigger club. Massive wages. And huge question marks about ability / desire / attitude.
The Everton retirement home still open. Come and get your last big contract here.Would never have got England caps if didn’t play for Man Utd

Yeah, because even when he did play he was hot and cold. He was just as likely to fall over someone and give away a stupid foul as make a great tackle.
100% this.
Football is about opinions.
Mine is I can’t stand Mina (he probably doesn’t like me very much either )
He’s a car crash of a defender to watch.Don’t agree with others about him being our best defender, but hey-ho
-
Hope that’s true. Not a player I’d be happy seeing here.
I wonder if it was more a case of Spurs ‘suggesting’ we sign him, rather than us ‘asking’
Erikssen however
-
This can’t happen.
I know we’re shit, but got to keep him.
-
He gave everything and was crucial to us staying up. Played with passion and desire (carrying an injury too)
Disappointed to see him go, but can’t really say a bad word about him
£60 million is a good price if true
Only thing that dampens it for me is that we’re probably bringing Winks in off the back of it
