I can't remember a discussion on here about our "deep" free kick defending tactic this season, all the pundits seem to pour scorn on it but I can't remember us conceding a lot from set pieces. I'm really no student of the technical side of the game like many on here so interested in what people think, the thought being triggered by the goal United conceded last night with a high line. To me the high line gives the attacking side more options to run into space with defenders running back towards goal, but the "experts" seem to think that's the way to go.

Can't remember any this season but last year their was at least two, the late equaliser against Newcastle and the one at the end of the Derby 🤬.

    He's announced his retirement today.

So much wasted potential through no fault of his own. Like I've said before, I really believe he had the ability to be a top quality striker in the PL.

He still looked decent the other year, absolutely roasted our defense.

  3. Pickford

    ??? Holgate Mina Digne

    James Doucoure ??? ???

    DCL ???

    ???/youth Keeper

    Coleman Godfrey ???/youth player Nkounkou

    ??? Davies/Allan Gbamin Iwobi

    ???

    King/Kean

Pretending to be Marcel Brands again, sorry Palf.

Any keeper on a free. Not worth using up the budget when we've arguably got the best keeper in the league.

Right back. Max Aarons being the obvious one, but I'd settle for Clyne as a stop gap. Maybe even try our luck with Leicester for one of their two.

Centre half. Koulibaly is the dream. I'd like someone experienced like Ben Mee to organise the defence as ours is a little wet behind the ears.

Centre mid. Really like Billing, although not watched much of Bournemouth this season. Fellaini is available on a free and wouldn't mind pissing off Moyes and going for his 'new fellaini' Soucek. We need a nonsense rather than Sigurdsson and Gomes.

Right mid. Buendia. I'd make him priority number one, he's that good.

Left mid. If the price is reasonable Zaha. If not stick with Richarlison. Ideally we could sell Richarlison and bring in Buendia and Zaha with the money.

    Attacking mid. Bring back Vlasic.

Striker. Someone with experience. Dreamland being Aguero (he went to city for the money, why not us).

Whereas we know Zaha isn't, never has been and never will be.

Palace would be mad to not sell him for £40m but we'd be even madder to pay £40m for him.

Bit of a Sigurdsson situation, worth a lot more to the selling club than the buying club. I'd say he's worth double that to them or even more. Without him they look lost, everything goes through him and he's a large part why such a shit team has managed to stay up.

Just looking at the players out of contract this summer.

Goalkeeper. Any of them. They won't be expected to play and saves wasting any of the transfer budget.

Left back. Not a massive fan of Schlupp but he could be worth a punt if he's happy to be a squad player. There's also Allioski of Leeds.

Centre half. Sakho, plenty of talent, only issue is getting him on the pitch. Wouldn't mind Cahill just for his experience to help in training.

    Right back. Clyne.

Right wing. Gudmundsson. Solid player in the ilk of Kevin Kilbane. Although I'd rather we throw a chunk of the budget at Norwich for Buendia.

    Centre mid. McCarthy, nostalgia.

Left mid. Brady, quality player when fit but too slow given we need to inject some pace in the midfield.

Striker. Aguero... We can dream. Think Carroll is worth a punt, big target man that DCL could work off in a 442.

Carlo said he was allowed to leave in a press conference this week. Before the flight photos. But why should they have to tell us what the players are doing away from the pitch? He’s been allowed to go on his break early because he is injured. So was Gbamin. I don’t see why it’s an issue.

To protect the players from fans like Haf.
