I always assumed as a kid I'd like classical music when I got older but it's just never happened. That video for example leaves me totally cold, I watched three or four minutes and can appreciate the skills on show but it just doesn't excite me at all. I spent hundreds (possibly thousands) of hours listening to classical stuff during my time as a sound engineer and did find a few things that I enjoyed; Carmina Burana, Dvořák New World, Beethoven Pastoral, Holst's The Planets and Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty off the top of my head, but they were the exceptions rather than the rule. I also have great memories of working on something called Cry by Giles Swayne which was an atonishing piece of work for voice only which threw up so many technical difficulties, I spent endless hours with the producer working on that so it was a very satisfying project to perfect it, though I'd never listen to it for pleasure.

The second one is a lot better. First one is would be good if you could see Tom chasing Jerry to compliment it. Otherwise it's a bit too full on.

I have seen a few articles saying how Everton fans will be happy that Ferguson is a part of the set-up but could anyone really care less if he is?

It isn't like it has helped us in the past and it certainly isn't going to soften the blow of Benitez coming in.

I'd rather Ferguson be the manager than Benetiz. He was the one who made the team around DCL whereas the chump before him had DCL as third choice. Add to that Benetiz is no better than Steve Bruce.

  3. Everton will complete their preparations for the 2021/22 campaign with a pre-season friendly against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday 7 August, 5pm (BST) kick-off.

Bit strange to play another premier League team at their own ground during preseason.

There is a bit of expense to come this far to be sure, but they come to the US to make money, so it's not unexpected. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you almost $100 to watch a glorified scrimmage is absurd. And the fact that Ticketmaster just about has a monopoly in the States on sports tickets concert tickets etc and jacks the price up an additional third chaps my ass to no end. I'm not even sure you can get a fucking parking ticket in America without Ticketmaster getting a cut

Main thing they're focused on is fitness, exposure being a secondary. They could let fans go for free. Really pissed me off tbh. Then again I was annoyed at the extra fiver on the season ticket when they're saying it's a price freeze. More principal than price that matters me when we're going round claiming to be the people's club.

At that price they're not even getting exposure. No person who's thinking about supporting a football team is gonna pay that so they're just ripping off actual fans.

Looks like we are in the Everton section behind goal 121 I think for Sunday's match. $75 + ticketmaster shitbaggery, so right at $100

That price is disgraceful. Preseason friendlies shouldn't be anymore than £20, if anything closer to a tenner.

  6. Would need to hear the clip to know whether the "we're watching" is just a loose tongue as we often add unnecessary waffle when talking, or whether he emphasised on it. If he's not emphasised on it then there's very little to read into.

If he spoke English I think he'd be saying something close to this.

probably not, we'll see. I'm happy to stay at Everton for another year.

They are probably a bit similar to us with Carlo. Can’t believe their club got a manager of that pedigree, so even when the football is shit think it will get better soon because of who he is?

Im with you, Bruce has done a better job.

Think with us Ancelotti had a pass this year on reputation, plus with our fans for the most part blaming the players for not being suited/good enough for the manager to change things. Even then there were still a few justified grumbles.

Probably the biggest thing that has pissed me off with Ancelotti. We gave him time as be it was a long term project.

Yet Newcastle fans love Rafa and hate Bruce.

Some of the football played under Rafa was dreadful. Bruce isn't much better but at least they now have a go every now and then!

Find it baffling. As you say the football under Rafa was awful to watch. Remember looking at them and they'd never scored more than 2 goals under him (possibly other than against us, assuming that's why I looked at the stat).

Bruce took over a much worse team as well with them losing their best two players, can't remember the strikers name and Perez.
