those that want ancelotti obviously don't know much about him. he is not a tactician, he is not into training. he is a man manager, gets along well with everyone (ronaldo acted like he lost his father when they let him go) and puts out what he thinks is the best lineup and lets the players play.
that's not what we need. we need someone to drill the backline, come up with some proper tactics, and develop a style. Tuchel could work, although he burns out after a few years at every place he goes and he's similar to the martinez/koeman style of all attack not much defense. shouts for Rafa are farcical at best. It's a bad time of year to look for a manager. Unsworth sounds great on paper and is a blue and all that, but i worry the whole campaign could be a bit much for him, he could have the same fate as koeman. also if he's manager for majority of the season you think he just goes back to the u23 nice and quietly if we hire someone else? probably would leave to manage elsewhere since he would have the credentials then.
just some thoughts.

I agree he isn't close to a top four. Also agree he should have continued with Holgate there.
i just don't think he is the reason we are doing so badly. And I don't agree that he is a bad championship player like many have said.
hes a stop gap for us, and he is doing his job.

No I'm not saying you did. Just making the point that people seem willing to forgive far worse performances from some of our latest signings than what Barkley was getting shut for last season

So why don't people give Barkley the same benefit, who is five years younger?

After they scored, that was as bad as I've seen us play at Goodison in almost 30 years. Utterly lacking in imagination, pace, power, threat. Half the team should be nowhere near the first XI they are so out of form. And it all stops with Koeman, his consistently terrible tactical decisions have sucked the confidence out the team.
Moshiri has to show his ambition and sack him, now. He isn't good enough for a club aiming for trophies and regular European football. If he is in charge v Lyon we will lose and be out of Europe. If Koeman isn't sacked now, this season is a write off already.

Here is a random idea. Lets play our £45m star signing in his proper position?

There's too many players playing week in, week out who just should not be playing. Gana, Williams, Martina awful. Sigurdsson is out of position and offers no more than Barkley would. The two up top looked to be working for 20 minutes, but that midfield will win very few games in the Premier League

Add Davies to this team for one of the DCM and I think we’d be there.

I disagree. The problems are much bigger than one player. Gana and Schneiderlin in midfield means there is just nowhere near enough ability on the ball to feed the front three. I mean Gana looked like he was playing the playmaker role in the first half last night, just ridiculous. He plays Sigurdsson as one of a front three - just a complete waste, leaving us with no pace and no out ball.
The whole system is just wrong. Every game at the moment, I look at the starting line up and know we won't win. I just don't understand how Koeman doesn't see it.

But who does that profile matter to? The owner? The fans? The media? All that matters is picking whoever you think will give you the best chance of winning football matches. What was Roger's profile before he ended up managing Swansea, then very quickly the shite? What was Mourinho's profile before he won the CL with Porto?
Unless things go really bad, there's not much hope of Koeman going before May. But let's judge Unsworth then too. Because he could do something remarkable. He has basically lost his entire first choice XI from the side he won the U23 championship with last year. Now it's only early stages, but is it four wins on the bounce now? With a completely different side? That suggests he knows what he doing.

You win respect from your personality, your understanding of the game, what you do on the training pitch far more than your CV. Another example, Pochettino. By all accounts, players absolutely love playing for him, and he hasn't assembled a bad side at Spurs, has he? What was his profile before Southampton?
And to be fair, who wants prima donnas? We want professionals who will work with whoever they are asked to.

You can say the same for Klaasen, Keane, even Sigurdsson doesn't look anything special. As far as integrating new players goes, it's been an absolute shambles

Ancelotti has been sacked because it is well known he does zero coaching and the Bayern players, after feeling like they were working under a manager in Guardiola who wanted to improve them, felt they were getting nothing from him. I think we need a manager who can improve players because a lot of ours look shit.

I'm gobsmacked how many people still want us to play 4-3-3. With Gana and Schneiderlin in midfield. And Sigurdsson one of a front three. How much more evidence do you need to see it doesn't work?
