  1. or both Godfrey and Keane step up to the plate and show they are important part of the squad. There is a big difference coming in to a confident team. on their day, both Keane and Godfrey have shown good things in a Everton shirt.
  2. I will not lose a minutes sleep if Burnley and forest go down or if Leeds and Leiceter fail to get promoted this season.
  3. If those four clubs had not make a song and dance about it, I don't think the Premier league would have bothered getting a independent commission to scrutinies us. so if we can take a maximum 12 point off forest and Burnley this season I would find that particularly satisfying.
  4. This game has the making of a bit of a banana skin, off the back of two good home wins, but a few suspensions and injuries coming at the same time and all being defensive type players. I would be playing on the fact Burnley are one of the shithouse clubs that complained to the PL about Evertons financial affairs that has led to us losing 10 points and now want to put the boot in and try and shake us down for compensation. These are one of the teams I really really want us to beat this season (along with Notts Forest). These fuckers could have casued this club no end of hardship.
  5. I think Dyche has to take a lot of credit in how he manages the players as human beings. I think he is pretty genuine and fair with them. From day one he has said he wants them to help make players the very best versions of themselves and cares about there well being. He is definately getting a lot lot more out of them than Lampard did, they all seem to be playing for him. I would love to see a match fit Dele get a good run of games playing for Dyche - Seeing him anywhere near his former self would be amazing.
  6. I was worried when he looked to be injured in the first half. Maybe the need game off might not be the worst thing to happen. Its a lot easier for a player to step in to a team who are playing well and full of confidence - hopefully that will rub off on those who have to step in to the team.
  7. I think Dyche is a better appointment than Ancelloti. I never really thought he was a great fit for the club and was really indicative of our owners poor judgement and lack of a coherent plan. He had a few months of decent results, but we didn't play particular good football under him and spending wise, possibly the season we ultimately overstretch ourselves. I am feeling we are finally building a team built on a good foundation under Dyche. A team and club we can begin to feel proud of again.
  8. Chelsea defenders will really fancy Beto around now.
  9. and results aside the only poor performances have been Villa away and Arsenal at home. he has to take a lot of credit for the effort and patience he has showed in getting DCL fit.
  10. we are horrible to play againt at the moment. Trippier having the ball nicked off him twice kind of sums up what we are currently like as a team. Beto was not for being pushed of the ball, the Newcastle defender just bounced off him when he tried to shoulder barge him. This team will be on cloud 9 after tonight result.
  11. does highlight our lack of depth in the middle. Lets hope its nothing seriouse with Garner.
  12. difficult to call this game really - we are playing well generally and confidence is good. Again, think its going to come down to the our finishing, lets hope the law of averages kick in and some of our better chances hit the back of the net. As great as away wins are, there is nothing like home wins in front of a packed house.
  13. I really can't see much point in getting disheartened by Beto just yet. He really has only had limited minutes in a new team, new league and new country all very stop start for him. However, I would much rather him being in this squad as the back up striker over Maupy. Like all strikers a goal or two does your game wonders, and in the grand scheme of things he has had limited opertunities to bag them. Great to see McNeil get on the score sheet and in with a couple of great chances. Again, a few have been critical of his offensive play thus far, lets see what a goal now does for his confidence in the final third. You could see how much he enjoyed that. Not our best performance of the season, but another clean sheet and another 3 points. Points on the board single most important thing at the moment. I was a important win after the 3-0 home defeat to Man U, it really helps keep that positive momentum around the squad.
  14. Garner - the boy is maturing nicely this season. He is only really a handful of games in as a Premiership Midfeilder, and see him growing further. Really nice to see some of these younger lads take their oppertunities. It is also a good look for Everton - this is the place to come as a talented youngster, you get minutes on the pitch.
  15. myko shot hitting the bar pretty much somes the game up. fine margins been against us today.
  16. I agree this is the game to go bold for that 25 mins
  17. going to be one of those games today.
  18. https://www.evertonfc.com/news/3791977/director-of-football-everyone-at-everton-is-united and Thelwell's chatting away again!!! We have called for others to speak up about 'non football' issues, and not leaving all the awkward questions to the manager at press conferances. Seems people at the club are listening. Perfectely accptable for Dyche to now limit what he says about the 10 point deduction in his pre match press conferance now and focus on the game.
  19. Simon Jordan also made a few good points this morning. 1. Everton are currently going in to a multi team group, 2. we have not been taken over yet, so why restrict ourselves, who knows who else may come in for us and 3. basically put two fingers up to the PL and vote against any proposal they currently want to make.
  20. There is precident for clubs seeking compensation from other clubs charged with financial breaches etc. Its not going to be lots of clubs getting £300m leading to administration like some nobs are banding around the place - but it might be settled as a few tens of millions to a single club, payed over a few seasons. What is more improtant really is not getting relegated this season - as we are now moving in the right direction as a club, so the more the current 10 points deduction is reduce the better, as that simply lessens the risk of relegation.
  21. Out of interest lets, if a team who got relegation is entitled to some compensation who do people think would actually have the best arguement - Burnely in 21/22 (season of the offence in question) or Leicester in 22/23 (season in which the charges against us have been made). If the whole debarcle is to a rectify a historical wrong doing to another club/s, surely a large fine which is then, less admin costs, is distrobuted accordingly to the agreed wronged clubs would be the most appropriate action. Pretty simple. That way an offending club is penalised and any wronged club/s are then compensated somewhat. i.e any team relegated or miss out on Europe get lionshare if not all the fine. Simple way for this rule breach - If a £19.5M over spend, then for first offecne then a £19.5M fine payable over the next three financial years. Second offence double the fine. The bigger the over spend, theoretically the bigger the advantage, and thus bigger the compensation to any clubs who feel they have been a little fucked over by it. This can also be quite easily applied retrospectievly.
  22. and don't the PL also appoint the people who will site on the independant commission? I have read or heard that somewhere as well.
  23. https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-update-compensation-claim-28147847 Interesting article on the potential compensation claims. The independent commission's head, David Phillips KC, claimed that he was "satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation", but that they'd need to wait for the ruling of the appeal first. He added: "Those claims and their validity depend on whether the complaint is upheld. "They depend on factual circumstances concerning the causation of any loss and they depend on other factual issues. If the complaint is upheld, the commission may wish to award compensation to one or more of the applicant clubs. "If the complaint is upheld, the Premier League must provide a copy of the decision to the applicant clubs forthwith. Within 28 days of receipt of a copy of the decision, each applicant club must inform the commission whether it wishes to pursue a claim for . . . compensation."
