  1. Yeah, definitely. It should be the premier venue for concerts and other major events etc in the North of England. Not many places you can go to a venue of this capacity, with the facilities we will have and be right in the business part of the city.
  2. Out of interest, has anybody see any sort of projections of what sort of additional revenue the new stadium is expected to generate per year.? It will have increase capacity, probably an across the board ticket price increase, significant corporate packages, increase general match day spending in and around the stadium, non footballing events. 20-30m a year? More?
  3. Its says '..working capital..' then a bit further down he say which '..includes the stadium..', but he '... doesn't know the details'. Don't think he mentions 'day to day running costs' of the club. You would think give the transfer activity if the past few years and significantly reduced wage bill our rolling 'day to day running costs' of the club as on a more even keel and not desperately in need of £80M to keep the club running. If you are building a £700m stadium over 36months it works out an average of £20M a month, and given the phase of construction we are in at the moment we are likely to be in a period of a fair few significant payment. The MSP £100m put in will not last that long and definaely will have not covered the stadium cost, it mostly likley went to the developer almost immediately. It will have only covered a percentage of the cost. I am only speculating but would hazard a guess that given what is going on BMD a signficant proportion of any £80m working capital input at this moment time will be largely to do with the biggest spend in the clubs history.
  4. Most of the stadium cost is going to be on borrowed money and £80M will only be a small percentage of this. It makes sence for them to do that if they are most likley going to be the new owners. Why get other financial people involed with the club if a full buy out purchase etc is being sorted and is imminent. New owners would want to have as much control of any financing or debt as possible. I would guess soring out financing etc is 777 partners bread and butter. I don't think 777 will have any isses gaining the required approval.
  5. I guess BK would be in a difficult situation, do you step aside an just let Moshiri get on with it or try stick around and have some influence on the fella. Hindsight maybe he could have resigned when Benitez was signed as manager. That was one of the worst and most bizarre decisions made. Now there is no positions to protect, and Moshiri will be gone as owner and just be a chapter of our story - we might learn a lot more in the fullness of time. Anyway, discussions for another time.
  6. definately, I quite enjoy listening to him when he talks all about the business side of stuff. Given he was a club owner (and quite a shrewed owner) he knows the realities of ownership and chairmanship a lot more than most. So somebody worth listening to. I have heard him 'defend' BK before, but today he was able to expand a little bit on what he knew BK was dealing with the last couple of years.
  7. The best time to face any team is immediately after them playing away in Europe on a Thursday evening. Definately a game where we could pick up points.
  8. I surpose Jordan is like Marmite. You can see he was genuingly fond of BK.
  9. The original story eminates from the Telegraph newspaper - so I give it more kudos than general click bait. I would guess that somebody from the PL has leak it to the journalists who wrote the artical. Everywhere else is simply recycling this article. After years of grumplings and nothing happening, are we going to be the team finally made an example of with FFP? Possibly - it would just be our luck. The timing of it with us at the beginning of financing a new stadium project and team in a poor condition is at the worst time possible. Yes, there has been some bad decisions at the club, but financially we have be clobbered and batter by massive variable that the club could no way have forseen - a global pandemic, a war in Ukraine that by law has resulted in our main sponser (an maybe long term owner) having to almost overnight pull away from the club, which is immediately followed by a cost of living crisis (where cost of building materials has sky rocketed just as we build a stadium). A 12 point deduction (which would most likley see us relegated) would simply be like somebody putting an almighty boot in to this club, and exactely at a point in time when it can least afford it. Another massive financial kicking to add to those listed above. Has the club really been that 'naughty' that it deserves this additional kicking that could actually send Everton in to administation? We had two or three seasons where we attempted to better ourselves to be more competative - then the world went to shit on us.
  10. I would have thought that should be the situation. As long as we didn't hide or miss represent anything to them about our finances during discussions with them.
  11. Talk in the press today is that the Premier League will be looking for a 12 point deduction if we are found guilty of breaches of FFP. I would guess that would make it very very difficult for a club in our position to avoid relegation. Bit worrying.
  12. We all had our view on him as the clubs Chairman in a rapidly changing modern era of football. I don't think any of us ever doubted that he wasn't anything other than a devoted Evertonian, and as Chairman and fan both desperately wanted to see the club be successful again. I am sure he will get the respect he deserves from the Goodison faithful for all the time and effot he put in to the club. RIP Bill.
  13. Not really, as you still have Danjuma and Beto on the bench as offensive player who can come on, so some players are still at your disposal. In the last 5-10min we did actually make an attempt to get play further up the pitch for an equaliser. When you go to 10 men then an unwanted desision has to be made. I just don't have a problem with Dyche going more defensive being a man down away to Liverpool. I just don't see it as bizarre, ridiculus or suicidal. If we when 10 men at home to a team we are on top of then I would maybe question going so defensive, but away to Liverpool it a perfectely reasonable way to try and keep hold of a point.
  14. I don't agree. When you go down to 10 men away at Anfeild and you are at 0-0, I think the right thing to do is play in a way that is going to give you the best opertunity to stop them scoring for the rest of the game. In the first half Liverpools best chances came on the back of us having the ball offensivly in their half. I think Liverpool actually looked less likley to score when we when down to 10 men and we basically shut up shop. We defended solidy, and it took a handball and a penalty to break the deadlock. Liverpool offered very little else to be honest. The hope of nicking a win is all but gone, and the odds are you are going to be backs against the wall anyhow (whether you keep a winger on or a defender). So you may has well have as solid a back against the wall line up as you can. keeping a winger on might releave the pressure for a few seconds here and there, but it would be at the expense of another defensive player.
  15. you would also think that there would be a massive 'novelty factor' at the moment with all the new big name players joining the league. So you feel that attendances will only go one way. A massive part of the enjoyment of going to a football match is the atmosphere that a crowd produce and just being part of that. You turn up to a few matches and the atmosphere is flat as fuck, you will soon be back at home watching it in the comfort of the living room with a few mates. It is increasingly looking like a footballers graveyard to me.
  16. Not that I give the story the time of day about Dom and joining Gerrard. Apparently the attendance at last night's Al-Ettifaq match was 696 fans. Very few games have any attendances of note. It would seem most of the Saudi's don't even give a fuck about the Pro League, never mind the wider world beyond. This season we have seen a lot of players join the Saudi league - but I wonder how many of them are now wondering if they have simply sold their footballing soul.
  17. We do seem to have moved to a top 7 rather than a top 6 set of clubs, with a very lucky Newcastle getting a CL place last season - their takeover seems to be working to perfection - all their transfer look to have worked out. Newcastle seems to be new 'story' and they look to be capitalising on this. Villa are improving. However, we will see how it goes with them as they have spent big and not sure how much better there geneal revenue is compared to ours. If Emry is the reason, do Villa keep hold of him, and there big players if the big teams come knocking? Villa more likely to end up like us or Leicester in two seasons time as they are to be challenging CL on a regular basis.
  18. I don't know, until shown otherwise I am going to give Dyche the benefit of the doubt, and if we progress under him steady (as I think we have done this season) I see no reason why he can't get the team pushing for Europe in 18 months to two years time. I see Dyche much more like Moyes than say an Allerdyce type. Moyes developed a team and himself as a coach at Everton, and if given time don't see why Dyche couldn't do the same. There is not a massive amount in it between a team on the finges of European football and those hovering above the relegation zone - need a bit of luck, limited injuries and a bit of confidence and consistency in all honesty. Dyche's teams have shown in most games this season we can actually be competative. It's be a while since I have seen this. However, a club should ALWAYS have a short list of potential alternative replacment managers (which should be reviewed on a regular basis), not matter how the team is doing. Managers can also disappear on you when they and the team are doing well also.
  19. https://www.goodisonnews.com/2023/10/23/everton-star-jarrad-branthwaite-adds-fuel-to-60m-fire-with-stellar-performances/ Although it's all simply opinionated bollocks being talked. However, it nice to see that people are taking note of the lads excellent start to the season - he looks like a defender who belongs at Premierhship level. Great he has signed that new contract, and any team can well and truly f*ck off with any stingy offers.
  20. Gone for myko, lots of strong performances, but think he really upped his game today.
  21. Score apart. Has to go down as a good performance overall. Game spoilt as a contest when young was dismissed in what was not a dirty game in any means. Some poor refing. We defended very well and it took a pen to brake the deadlock. Second goal was simply us throwing man forward in injury time - so the risk you expect the team to have to take. Lot of heads can be held high today in that defeat. Branthwaithe's value goes up with every performance. Myko, who was looking to be a weak link in the team had a cracking game, hopefully keeps that up. Lots of positives to come away with, and not a performance whcih should dent confidence. Performance deserved a clean sheet.
  22. Feels to me like it been an age since we have been able to put out and unchainged line on the back of a good win. Give players the chance to get some momentum, and up to others on the to take there chances off the bench. Always a tough game, but this is not a top Liverpool side at the moment so a day to really go at them. COYB
  23. It sound like we have just got to hope that the third party scritiny of the Premier League to ensure a buying company is a fit and proper owner is actually worth someting - have my doubts given complexities of these financial entities, but at least its some sort of check, so that any Tom, Dick or Harry can't buy our club. Definately some concerning stories about 777 Partnership although in this current age we have to view all media articals, both good and bad with a pinch of salt. Are there any financial entities and groups whiter than white? I am guessing its all a pretty cut throat business behind the scences at most of them. This club definately needs a shake up owner and board wise and to be brought in to the modern global footballing world - at least it looks like that is going to happen.
  24. yes, and even Branthwaithe - but at £1.5M and £1M respectively these two where even rawer than those listed and came in at what I would say are neglible fees. But if I listed these two I would also have to list similar purchases that never made it (but couldn't be bothered looking for these names) . Even at the other end of the scale when we have pushed the boat out and paid big money for young players (21 and below) we have done very well. Fellaini, Richarlison, Lukaku, Onana and can't think of any massive flops. We seem to have shit the bed transfer wise when going in to the market for older and what may be deemed more established players (23+) - paying top doller in transfer fees and wages. There is a list as long as your arm of flops that have cost this club a fortune, and very few successes. Maybe a 80-90% sucess rate in under 21 purchases and health net profit. and a 80-90% failure rate in 23+ purchases with transfer fee and wage expenditure that has brought the club to its knees. we have simply got the balance all wrong for a club who are not in the money generating super club bracket.
  25. I imagine in an ideal world he would be out on loan (and may do next season) - but we have a pretty thin squadwise this season. I would also guess as he has come from overseas, a season or half a season with the first team at Finch Farm and the experience with matchday squads will give him a great flavour of what he should be working for. I wouldn't have a problem with him going out on a Branthwaithe type loan when the time is right.
