  1. Good, hope he gets some game time.
  2. True, but Pennington has only played a handful of games. I'm not saying he is John Stones, but he does have qualities, lets just see how he develops.
  3. Barkley, ran the midfield with his passing and movement. Jags was back to his best and another great game from Davies after a tough couple. MIralas was great and always a threat and I think Holgate was so assured. Hell, everyone played well.
  4. Why? He played well in the first team when required.
  5. Gave away the foul, but Robles should have saved the cross. Pennington has had a baptism of fire over the last 2 weeks, and he has improved with every game, shown character and passed a tough test against Leicester. I think he has the skills to be a good defender, how far he will go its too early to say, but to write him off now is way too premature.
  6. I thought he played well today, he got better and better as the match went on. While he is not blessed with pace, he has good heading ability, his positional sense for a youngster is good, and he has ability on the ball. A player for the future.
  7. Depends on the terms of the deal, if we have a sell on clause.
  8. His passing average is one of the best in the team, I've just finished a 10 hour shift but I'll find the stats when I get a chance. I don't think there has been a player who's every attempt to create a chance results in success, but you have to try or you create nothing, and Ross does try and does create. I'm not saying he is perfect or the finished article but he does create chances and does make the team tick. I agree he is not a natural No 10, but he is a creative player who operates best when he is given a free (ish) role as an inside right.
  9. Barry will get roasted against a high energy high pressing side like Leciester, plus I don't think he can play 2 games a week.
  10. I agree, I would like to rest Davies, but Barry will get punished against a high pressing side like Leciester.
  11. Sorry but that is utter rubbish. Firstly Vardy is a player who depends on his pace, tenacity and opposition standing off him to score goals. Secondly since December we have looked so deadly on the break, I have seen us score so many goals on the counter. What we have lacked is competition in several key positions to replace tired and out of form players and push competition in the squad. Thirdly since the New Year Barkley has been one of the leagues leaders in chances created as he got he new role and confidence. Lastly yes we had an appalling run of games between October and December but every team has dips and we have gone an impressive run since then.
  12. According to sources in Italy a deal with Chelsea is almost done- how reliable that is I don't know tho?
  13. Yep Lookman deserves a start and the young players need to be rotated.
  14. I agree young players need to rest and Tom has played allot recently. If Morgan had been fit and McCarthy had not put country before common sense he would have had a rest by now. He will probably play on Sunday as I don't think Barry can play 2 games in a week, but he should get a break at some point.
  15. True but he will learn so much, from this as will the others. Games like this help them to kick on.
  16. Exactly this, we have some quality young players and they are highly thought of by people who know their football like Walsh, Koeman and Unsworth. They need time to develop and get used to playing in the EPL, some will make it some wont but by having and developing these players is key to our future success. We will add to our squad without cost, and attract other young talent because they know they will get game time.
  17. Really, I thought he was quality against Man City, played well against Spurs and against Man Utd he played well in the first half. I remember us playing against Newcastle in Martinez's first season and Barkley playing an absolute stormer on the counter.
  18. We missed having Morgan or McCarthy in midfield who could have replaced a tiring Barry and added energy. We also needed a better replacement for Barkley. DCL will be a great player, but right now he lacks experience and this lead to us dropping deeper and deeper. We will benefit from the experience of the young players next season. End of the day we put in a much, much better performance than the weekend, we got some confidence back and showed allot of game craft for 93 minutes. Whatever Lukaku did or did not say its the heat of the moment, I expect it to be sorted in the dressing room. One point closer to Europe, one game closer to a transfer window where we can show some ambition, one week closer to a new stadium.
  19. Much better performance, deserved the win. We will get some confidence from this.
  20. 4th was never on the cards after our poor October, November and December. Best we can do is take as many points as we can and see where that takes us. As long as we qualify for Europe that's the most important thing it shows progress, makes it easier to recruit the players we need to advance.
