  1. I thought he did well enough. Could have had a couple of assists on another day. He did take a fee heavy challenges as well and after the 3rd or 4th he was a bit more subdued.
  2. I think Ferguson has contributed a lot to the development of Lukaku so I am sure he will get some satisfaction out of it himself.
  3. I saw some of that too... "doesn't have the mentality to play at a club like Man Utd" etc. Absolute joke. They just want show Pony's like Pogba so that can go around dabbing when they score in 5 a side.
  4. He did it again yesterday. About 25 yards out, took a massive touch and gifted it to a Sunderland player. He won it back with 5 seconds and had a very good game but he does have it in him.
  5. He seems to be playing a but further forward, ahead of Gana and Morgan which he can do but isn't where he is best.
  6. Defensively he was better than he has been of late but going forward he seems to make a habit of picking the wrong ball/pass far too regularly. I wouldn't have any other right back in the league mind you!
  7. That's how I read it. At Soton Koeman pretty much slated thr academy and said none of them were good enough for first team football. Here he is saying we already have some lads in the first team, we are very competitive already in midfield and that Pennington is the most likely to come through given where he plays and our lack of depth in that position. If anything I would take it as a positive comment from him about our academy, not many other teams have 3 U23 players in the first team squad and have the manager eyeing a 4th.
  8. I agree, I like a player with a bit of OTT aggression but in the McCarthy sense, whereas Alli seems intent on injuring another player at times. Shocking tackle and should be banned for longer.
  9. I like Schmeichel, I think he makes a lot of saves that others wouldn't. I think he is just below the too class keepers in the league but young enough to keep improving as he gets older. Like Hart I admire his attitude too, that's half the battle as a keeper. A lot of people have raved about Forster in the past and I think he is better. I haven't seen enough of Rulli to comment but Pickford again showed today that he is a class shot stopper, superb reactions, but he has some clangers in him. He needs to play games just under the radar of a big club to improve, without being too much in the limelight.
  10. This is a big game, 5 at the back is nailed on IMO and we will attempt to counter.
  11. We were dominant for 60 mins today, we had a little wobble after half time when we didn't use the ball very well but overall I don't think you can really fault that performance other than we just didn't finish off our chances. Lookman was quiet but I didn't think he was bad. He is a young lad getting used to the league and he just couldn't get involved enough, albeit with a better finish he could have got a goal. Schneiderlin was my MOTM but Gana, Ross and Williams were right up there. Davies a little off the pace but he added little touches of quality, like the ball for the first goal. Funes Mori was much better this week too. Mirallas played his part from the bench, McCarthy was a pest but again Valencia proved to me that he isn't anything more than a nuisance forward. A pain in the arse to play against but ultimately won't hurt you either.
  12. Spot on. They are just looking for headlines to sell papers or ads.
  13. He was brilliant today, so composed. You would think he had been here for years.
  14. That's the point Mike, you don't know who the hate crimes are being committed against so you don't know if it's Europeans, Asians, South Americans or them damn Welshies A balanced report would give more info but it suits their headlines more to point the finger at Brexit and ask no further questions.
  15. But we did week 1 against Spurs... who would have thought that!
  16. I just watched this game back again. Funes Mori was dreadful. He was probably responsible for at least 3 of their chances or possible chances. We still concede way too many chances from corners. Considering Koeman took the piss out of Martinez for his record at corners we must be conceding at least 1 clear chance per game. Gana was well off the pace. Davies was superb first half but barely figured second half. Barkley was superb again, Lookman was also bright and could have had a couple. Lukaku should have scored his only real chance. When you bring on Barry, Valencia and Lennon your chances of finding a winner are slim to none! That save from Robles was world class.
  17. There is a lot of other things going on in the world and in this country that all add to this increase in hate crimes. I can imagine that the Brexit fallout has had an effect, but the increased threat of terrorism around the world and in this country will also have an effect. The Nice attack happened around this time, as did the Berlin attack. A balanced report would consider influences like that as well and that is the point I am trying to make. Without knowing who has done what you can't make any accurate inferences and reports like that just want to make the impression that it's just Brexiters causing the trouble.
  18. Haha I think that is more to do with Arsenal than Bayern. I still think they aren't as good as previous years but that doesn't mean they are crap either.
  19. I forgot Spurs were already out! Yeh so just City then!
  20. That's a prime example of analysis with no actual analysis. If the rise is as a result of Brexit then it would be worrying but other than timing there is nothing else that tells us its Brexit. Who committed the crimes? Who were they against? Etc. Journalists just want the story that fits rather than getting to the heart of the problem. A bit like the referendum itself!
  21. Not if he is never in position and chases the ball like a Magpie.
  22. PSG didn't look anything special when they played Arsenal so I'm surprised they toned Barca. I think it's wide open this year, Bayern aren't as good as they have been, nor Atletico. I guess Real are the most consistent but they don't really convince me yet. One of the English teams could get further than expected this year.
  23. I think half of that was just because he ran around slide tackling anything that moved! I remember one game he got MOTM and everyone was bashing Barry. Problem was Besic was all over the place, couldn't play the ball properly to feet and played Barry in trouble all night long yet he loves a challenge so who cares right!
