  1. I'm fairly confident it was mentioned that Kone was on £20k on his first contract so no way would we have doubled that. Obviously that assumes what was originally said was correct too!
  2. Plus no one in leave could even guarentee 350 mil as they weren't the govt in charge and their "battle bus" says "let's fund the NHS instead" or let's spend that money on the NHS. I bet as many people voted to remain as we were at the back of the queue for Obama or more at threat of terrorism by not being in the EU. It's tit for tat on both sides. Instead of going over old ground, if you want to remain then come up with new, honest arguments, new solutions, rather than debating what happened.
  3. Guardian writers tar sections of the populace with the same brush and then cry foul when someone does it to them. Ergo leavers are uneducated, racist etc. They can say what they want with their BS surveys that I am sure nobody really takes, at least not outside of London, and obviously I can't speak for the whole of the country but immigration and the perceived negatives of immigration were always high on the list. I haven't seen anyone, anywhere say that they voted leave to give the NHS £350 mil a week.
  4. Racing has become an excuse for people to get dressed up, pissed and to pretend they are Conor McGregor.
  5. He is probably one of the best tacklers around. I have never seen someone slide tackle so regularly and win the ball cleanly.
  6. In fairness to Joel if you go through the PL teams who are definitely better keepers? Courtois Lloris Vorm? De Gea Cech Hart That's about it. People seem to rave about Forster but he makes plenty of mistakes and he is glued to his line. Butland and Begovic maybe but both haven't been seen for a while. Adrian was last year, but terrible this. Pickford maybe in time. The rest are much the same. Good moments and the odd howler.
  7. I think people underestimate how important it is for keepers to play games, it's one of the reasons they improve with age. I know I didn't train every day like these guys do but when I went back to playing 11 a side it took me a good year to be at a stage where I thought I could save anything again. It's such a psychological position because outfield players can make 10 mistakes leading to a goal but as a keeper you always think you could have saved it and therefore start questioning what went wrong, what you can do next time etc. Outfield players make 20/30/40 mistakes a game but don't worry about it because they are involved again instantly and don't have the time to think about it. I don't think you can fault Joel for any of the goals we have conceded recently. He has made a couple of strange decisions but because they haven't been punished or focussed upon, no-one cares about them. I have always said he is a good keeper, but if the opportunity arises we should still be looking out for a true number 1. They are few and far between though!
  8. I generally think she is an idiot. Just because I voted leave doesn't mean I am a Tory voter or agree with the same things that Widdecombe does. With your pigeon holing you sound like Guardian headline writer.
  9. Ooh er... I didn't know you two were that close ?
  10. No no no, there was no unknown about McGeady. He has been a shite player every where he has played. Inconsistent, erratic and never good enough for the Premier League. Lookman was a risk because he was young and had potential. McGeady had peaked, in his prime and still not good enough.
  11. Despite keeping a clean sheet today I think we have looked shaky with 4 at the back in the last couple of games. Whilst the 5 works best against teams that attack us, I still think it can help us grind out results without looking vulnerable.
  12. I read a lot, saw a lot and asked a lot of leavers and I haven't heard anyone say that x amount to the NHS was in their tio 5 reasons to leave. I find it strange that remainers hang their hat on it so much, which to me shows how much they miss the point and is probably why the leave vote won. I know us leavers are the uneducated and everything but please give us a bit more credit than that. I think it's been fairly clear that immigration was the main vote winner, rightly or wrongly. I also think that the vote remain campaign was probably vote winner number 2 and I would be very confident that a genuine vote remain campaign would have won the referendum. On that last point I saw question time last night and Owen Smith was again bleating on like the bleeding idiot he is still living in cloud cuckoo land. I found it scary that I actually agreed more with Anne Widdecombe than anyone else. The main point I agreed with and said for some time is that the NHS should be removed from the political merry go round so that it doesn't get messed around every 4 years by the latest government.
  13. Thats not true... and technically it is still a possibility. I find it ridiculous that party leaders can almost force their MPs to vote one way or another and then like Corbyn, sack them from the shadow cabinet when they defy him. MPs should vote as they feel is right based on the information they have without fear of political exile for not doing what they are told. There has never been a great idea that has changed lives for the better that hasn't been challenged in some way.
  14. You should have got her to drive!
  15. I think he has been clear and consistent with the players. I guess that they can't really ask for more than that if they aren't playing every week. I know I would.
  16. Mahrez was terrible today. Pulled out of challenges, no fight and no real quality either.
  17. Him and McCarthy are such no nonsense players. They don't do anything spectacular but at the same time they are everywhere.
  18. Spot on. He probably could have made the change a bit earlier but it was definitely the right thing to do and you could see straight away that the players were more comfortable.
  19. It's definitely game on at the bottom now. They are all picking up points. Apart from Chelsea winning the league at a canter, it should be an exciting end to the season at the bottom and for the top 4 and EL places.
  20. Rom for obvious reasons but Joel deserves a big pat on the back.
