  1. Neither Coleman or Baines are doing well defensively. Holgate and Mori getting caught out of position a little as a result too. Mirallas isn't having his best game either. Last time I said that he scored within 5 mins!
  2. I wouldn't call Lookman a first teamers yet, he has done well in his cameos but it's a lot to ask from him. Koeman wasn't expecting him to be ready either when he joined. When you think of it like that we signed 1 genuine first teamers but in the same breath only lost 2 or 3 (Oviedo, Cleverley and Geri). I can see the positives of this window though as next summer we have a blank canvas(ish), like Koeman had at Soton. As long as the overhaul doesn't effect our short term goal of getting into Europe then long term it can only be a positive.
  3. Definitely I really like the look of him, but he is young, inexperienced and we don't want to put too much pressure on him. It's OK bringing him on like we have in the last couple of games at the end of a rout and against a relegation side but expecting him to win us a game against Chelsea/Liverpool etc is a bit much.
  4. I find it strange that if we weren't getting someone else in then why did we let Gerry leave. Can cover all the forward positions too, unlike someone like Lennon. It's almost guaranteed that Lukaku gets injured against Stoke.
  5. On his day he certainly is. He does have a fair amount of offs days though and I think there were calls for him to be dropped earlier in the year for Holgate.
  6. Glad I could help ? I would definitely be wanting him back ASAP to give him a chance of playing. Whether he can or not is different but it's madness to not try with such a big game coming.
  7. I thought that too at first and then I watched it back! What a beast.
  8. Someone still has to play in the full back position and I would rather have an actual full back than a midfielder.
  9. If it was Lukaku and we were playing a game that might just get us back in the title race we would do the same thing. I don't know if you have realised but Mane is African and he isn't a fat ginger lad who burns when he steps into sunlight. For players like Mane and Gana that is a real game of football and they are built for it. Money spent is also irrelevant because he is their best player and very important to how they play. Arsenal would do the same with Sanchez for example. Anyway he missed his flight and probably won't have enough recovery time now.
  10. Exactly, doesn't make it right but for them it makes money so it makes sense, hence why they haven't been banned.
  11. That's the point. No problem with people and serious issues, like Cornish Steve 's but any idiot can come up with one, whine on Twitter/Facebook etc and then Parliament will debate whether Nelson's Column should be renamed after the next winner of X factor. It just wastes everyone's time, even mine writing this post!
  12. I does make sense. Piss off the Saudi 's with their oil? As far as I am aware the US govt still hasn't achnowledged any Saudi involvement in 9/11.
  13. I'm surprised by this one. I haven't seen much of him but he has looked solid but nothing more in a team set up to defend.
  14. They are playing Chelsea so it's a massive game for them and if we were in the same position I would hope that we would do the same thing.
  15. I wouldn't want to rely on any of Valencia, Lennon, Lookman (at this stage) or DCL for any length of time. If Lukaku and Barkley get injured we have no goals and no-one other than Mirallas to get us upfield. What are the odds of another dodgy loan at the last minute?
  16. Exactly, just a shame we aren't still in a cup to give them some more game time.
  17. I'm not advocating what he is doing but like it's been mentioned, it's not in USAs interest to stop Egyptians and Saudis outright as they clearly have a much bigger vested interest in those two countries. I am also pretty certain that there are known terrorist training camps in most if not all of the other countries mentioned so whilst nationals might not be the problem (ie I think the Belgian bombers went to Syria) there are clearly links with terrorism to those countries. The way I am interpreting this, and I may be naive, is that this is a way of a sending a message to the terror cells in these countries (and others) but also for the US govt to make sure they know a lot more about how is coming in and out. They aren't the only country in the world to have bans on immigrants and the USA did it to an extent under Obama with Iraqis refugees for 6 months (I think it was Iraqis anyway). It's not something I think they should be doing but it's one of the reasons they were voted into power and to that extent he is expressing the will of his people.
  18. I wish people would stop with those fucking petitions. Whoever came up with that idea needs to be shot.
  19. Yeh he is open to playing here but there is nothing to say we want him! I was thinking though, whilst Shaw isn't living up to his early hype, maybe a step away from the United limelight would help and he could be Baines long term successor?
  20. Mirallas doesn't deserve to be dropped though and if you put Davies into that position it ruins what has been working well, especially as we lose Mirallas' pace. Gana has to warm the bench until someone deserves to be dropped. Same with Schneiderlin and McCarthy. Someone will get injured sooner or later and Barry can play twice a week (if we have to) so they will get their chance.
  21. I only imagine it is a contract so that he can play in the games to put himself in the shop window so to speak. Without something in place I doubt he could play. Not sure how long the contract will be for though?
  22. One of the differences with Baxter is that he is good enough to make himself a career in the lower leagues. We aren't promising him anything, he may not even play for the U23s but we are helping him train and get over his problems and get his head back in the game. As people have said, he does work with EITC and it could be a good thing for the other lads to see what can go wrong and it will keep them grounded. Unsy is the one who seems to have made the decision and I would definitely trust him to do what's best for the club. If he thought Baxter was going take the piss or ruin the togetherness of the group then he wouldn't have offered to do what we are doing.
