  1. Glad to hear he's getting a little bit of a redemption there. Now he just needs to score a couple more.
  2. I wish we would go for Yedlin. Apparently going to Newcastle for 3mil. He would be a good understudy/cover to Coleman.
  3. Hart would be an upgrade but it's not worth it for his price -- especially if it's just a loan. He's better than average, but his wages/price tag are greatly inflated. As far as which leagues are better... Spain and Germany have some better teams (Barca, both Madrids; Bayern, BVB), but England has the most parity by far. Teams in other leagues can afford to rotate their squads regularly and put more focus on European competition. I'd be curious to see how injuries come into play since the English League is far more physical.
  4. I'd rather keep Stek than pay those wages. He has been great in his first two matches anyway. I doubted him at first, but I'm coming around.
  5. I'm loving all of the behind-the-scenes moves that the club has been making this year!
  6. I keep telling myself I won't read this thread but somehow I'm always sucked back in.
  7. Don't forget Moyes publicly stated he was going to fine him which is slightly embarrassing. He may just not like Moyes.
  8. I'm okay with this. I think Remy is a quality striker, but he is too content to play second fiddle IMO.
  9. Dinamo Zagreb head coach has come out and said the Eduardo (their GK) is about to sign for Chelsea as backup for Courtois. Sounds like Begovic will be leaving in this window. Make of that what you will.
  10. Republicans and Democrats run the Commission on Presidential Debates.
  11. Petition to allow third parties into the debates: https://www.change.org/p/commission-on-presidential-debates-include-all-qualified-candidates-in-2016-presidential-debates?recruiter=586704374&utm_source=petitions_share&utm_medium=copylink&recuruit_context=copylink_long
  12. Yeah, I've been seeing that too. He seems to have moderate views for the most part -- socially liberal in a lot of areas but also more on the fiscally conservative side. I don't agree with everything he says, but I'm starting to think he's a better option than Hillary or Trump the more I read up on him. The problem is that he has no shot whatsoever of winning due to so little exposure, so it's hard to really pay attention to him. I wish the debates would include him and Jill Stein.
  13. My thoughts exactly. He's still young enough to improve, and keepers usually hit their prime later than other positions, but right now we need someone better.
  14. I think he deserves time under Koeman. A new manager may make him the player he showed the potential to be from his first season here.
  15. The republican party doesn't have the greatest reputation right now, and Trump really is the embodiment of a stereotypical, worst-case scenario Republican (racist, rich, lack of empathy, ignorant). A "new era" candidate will emerge in the next few years who has a more modernist view on social policy but is still fiscally conservative. That is what Republicans need now. Most Republican candidates that harp on outdated social issues know they have no chance to overturn what they're against (abortion, gay marriage in some states, etc.) -- they're just trying to appeal to the ideals of their outdate followers. It's all about winning votes, but the group of folks who are anti-[social issue] is becoming increasingly smaller. Give it a few more years. I agree. A couple of bad Clinton terms will do terrible damage to the party. They're not quite as ready to implode as the Republican party is, but they're not that far off either. Even though I'm not looking forward to either of these two being president, I'm excited that more American people are beginning to call bullshit.
  16. Exactly. I was a dedicated democrat at the start of Obama's term, but now I feel pretty "blah" about them. Obama wasn't the worst president we've ever had, but he hasn't been as transparent as he initially promised. I'd like to see Gary Johnson (Libertarian party) debate against these two. He doesn't have a shot, but I'm more just curious as to how well he'd do.
  17. One of favorite albums when I was younger. Every once in awhile I listen to it and am reminded of how good it is.
  18. The combined minority vote doesn't look high at face value -- maybe 25-30% of the total vote -- but it still makes a big difference. Trump is going to get steamrolled at the debates. He'll probably try to bring up Hillary's past but will fail to coherently answer questions about actual policy. That's why Republicans are terrified. The party has been struggling for years and now Trump is making them look completely foolish. People like Trump because of how bad the Republican party already is, and I think this election will be a wake-up call for the party. I'm not saying the democrats don't have their flaws, but republicans are viewed as outdated and out-of-touch, at least in my experience. Both parties need revamping though. Also, we need more than just the two party system.
