I didn't get the fact that Moyes spent money on him and left him on the bench, while Baines got no rest.

I think he is very exciting once on, and would like to see more of him.

I'll have to presume if you are agreeing, you are quoting me, and if you're swearing, you're quoting DK then.

That's pretty much the same for me.

As long as we are addressing the age issue, and not just going for short term gain, we will be ok, but ignore it, or add to it, and it could bite us in the arse, especially if we don't maintain a top finishing position, which is by no means guaranteed, regardless of manager.

I'm not sure what 5m will get you these days, but if Kone comes here, I'm sure he will do well, so let's see.

My 'only' concern is that our team are getting old, and will need to be revitalised with money we may not have in a few years time, so while we can spend, just try and spend wisely.

Had we bought Kone for 5m the day after he tore Heitinga a new one, most fans would have been very excited, as the guy is clearly a very classy player and 5m is probably a bargain if it works out, Martinez knows better than any of us about the guy, so if he does bring him in, we need to support the decision.

As long as we add younger players I'll be content.

If United are genuinely after him, he's gone.

It's just a question of how much. I think they would owe it to us to give us a good price, and certainly don't think Moyes would insult us, or deny us the opportunity to build with the funds, as he is an Everton man.

I don't agree with that at all Jay.

He might not be the right age for us, or even the right signing, but the guy is clearly a very good player who would improve any squad. We can debate the ifs and buts all day long, but let's not start attacking the player himself, as that's just wrong.

Patto, the transfer market isn't even until July, so our club will hardly put their cards on the table. Let folk have a break and get some family time, and the new season will be upon us before we know it.

I think he is determined not to play in the Championship, more than his desire to reunite with Rob.

His age means he is only a short term gain, so what happens in 2 years time when we have no money again and need a striker?

I would rather we use any money we have to purchase long term players, who will have sell on returns, as opposed to stop gaps.
