Some may never find out, but whatever occurs in South America this year, can't look beyond the obvious favorites such as Germany and Spain.

There's usually a surprise entry in the last four of the World Cup (Poland 1982, Belgium 1986, Bulgaria 1994, Croatia 1998, maybe Uruguay 2010 ?) and that may very well be the case this time around, but can't see someone like Japan being a part of it. I don't know all the qualified nations for this years event, but our very own United States could surprise a good many people and maybe Australia or Ivory Coast if they made it.

Said it before, and say it again, it was only a few short months back that Liverpool were a mess and providing weekly humor to a nationwide audience and Rogers was a sure bet for termination, and look at them now, damn fine reversal of fortune however you feel personally.

They want to win the league championship again so much and while realize it probably won't be this season, they'll take heart from this seasons endeavors and come back strong next year with some fine acquisitions in the close season. Make no mistake about it, I can't stand the club in question, and wish them nothing but failure and misfortune, but hard as it is to admit, they deserve some level of credit for turning the ship around.

We face Germany in the World Cup this summer, along with Portugal and Ghana, and while having lost significant interest in the international scene, think there's a decent chance of making the second round once again. Can we win it ? Of course not, we realize can only go so far and the eventual winners will feature someone like Argentina or said Germans, but it should be a good few games in any event.

I don't know if I'll be able to view any games by the time of event, but we've had some big results in recent years with Spain and Italy for example, so can hold our own on the biggest stage.

Germany are a better all-round team than Spain right now, and should start as european favorites, but think the actual winner will come from South America - no european team has ever won the World Cup 'on the wrong side of the atlantic'

If I was one or two 'individuals' on these pages, I'd start a goddamn thread about it - but today is Saint Patricks Day so realize there's one or two Irish participants out there so hope they have a decent day. Say one thing about them, they actually go to the trouble of putting on a show and making a day of it, whichever country they find themselves in, while Saint George's day is always a rather tame affair that often passes without incident.

Best wishes to Irish and enjoy the day etc

After two messy divorces and a third underway not without it's problems, you can take it's a better option than marriage sometimes.

Women weaken your will, not to mention your legs, but don't want this degenerating into some misogynist free for all, only making a fair minded observation.

Women can be cunts, men can be cunts, children are cunts - I don't discriminate.

These salaries have become goddamn ludicrous. Rooney (or any other player you could mention) doesn't warrant 300,000 per week, when 3,000 a week would seem more than enough for all playing individuals. Money and greed will be the ultimate demise of the game, and in all seriousness, as there will be no improvement , or salary cap, or indeed commonsense, anytime soon, I feel inclined to just let them get on with it and one day, it'll all end in disaster, or some level of a severely regrettable situation.

Back in 2007 we, well I, had a little thread call The Rubbish Post Thread. If one of your posts was complete and utter drivel, crap, garbage, or indeed rubbish, it would end up in there.
Every so often I would add up who made the most rubbish posts and put up a league table.

As it seems we have plenty of garbage being posted daily, i'm excited to bring it back.

    1. you do not want posts in here.
    2. you do not want to be top of the league table.

Some people would seem more concerned with what David Moyes does (now) than Martinez' own endeavors.

There was never this level of animosity towards Manchester United before Moyes was manager with some individuals, so why now. Sure one or two have a legitimate grudge with Moyes since his time here, and a "he did a poor job, so let's find humor in his misfortunes" viewpoint.

For the most part, couldn't give a shit who won the game. A - Whoever won this night is never going to win the final itself, B - The League Cup is a largely ridiculed and insignficant trophy to enter and is hardly the most spectacular of soccer participations. It doesn't get berated by a majority for nothing, and because a handful of (the) usual boring analysists, on a boring highlights program, on a boring fucking TV station, show a degree of excitement or have nothing else to put on (see follow up movie Color of Night), doesn't make it so.

Didn't see too many giving Sunderland plaudits or waving red and white merchandise, after a recent setback at Goodison Park either. Fans can be fickle sometimes.

Maybe I do feel some sympathy for David Moyes. I can't extend the same level of malice or ridicule from some others towards the name. Ok they lost the tie (although actually winning the game) but if the owners at Manchester United have any sense (which Kenwright obviously overlooked as his Everton tenure "progressed") they'll rid themselves of Moyes services during the next close season and this berating would appear short lived.

Sunderland get themselves a "win", the opposition loses. I didn't get no humor from it, or generate any feelings of euphoria, but take this opportunity to wish the victors well in the final event, but a repeat of a surprise result as with them and Leeds United in '73, would appear minimal at this moment in time. I don't have the same feelings of animosity towards the beaten opposition (and Moyes himself) as with some others, to bring myself to offer proper ridicule on tonights events.

West Ham put a £42 price on entry to their second leg game last night by all accounts.

That's damn stupid. Ok they were never going to turn it around, but why not a cut price entrance fee so people could turn up and savor a semi-final experience. In the end only some 14,000 bothered (or could afford) to turn up , but putting a big discount on entrance prices would have been a decent gesture. Say kids for a pound and adults at five, as I believed mentioned elsewhere. I don't like the club side in question but admit they've got a great set of supporters, who in the simplest terms - deserved better.

There's this program on television titled Eastenders that could well constitute the most fucking boring miserable viewing "pleasure" that any TV company could hope to offer.

Marvel as slag Slater (or whatever her character name is) and a collection of other miserable leather faced women sit around in a bar all day, or go to the laundry, or if feeling over extravagant, a journey to the nearest bus stop or tube station.

Dark screen, rains a lot, similar to Finchers Se7en, but all characters do is shout and scream at each other or laugh at the same decibel level of a 747 at take off. - Usually at nothing

Unbelievably this awful shit has been underway for 28 years thus far.

The BBC is just another example of a TV station that seems to have an objective of putting on as much boring miserable shit as they are able - and so far, they got to be proud, if that is their true intention.
