  1. Never been so happy to be proven wrong. After they scored first, I did think we done for, but credit to the lads, for showing fantastic character. Admittedly Chelsea were not up to form, but that's a valuable three points we got there and I'm happy about that. I may even start predicting losses more often if that's the effect it's gonna have. Looking forward to the Sporting game now, but still not getting ahead of myself as far as Manu are concerned. However, I don't think as strong as they used to be and if Spurs play like they did last night against Wolves theirs a good chance we could get 9 points from the 4 games this month, which would be a great result for us.
  2. I just came on to post my prediction, and to be honest I'm quite surprised to find that no-one seems to think we've got a chance in this one. Don't get me wrong, I was going to post a 2-0 win to them anyway, I was just expecting that you guys would be a little more optimistic. Nevermind. We won't score in this game, I just can't see where it's going to come from. Unless we get a penalty or a free kick just outside the box. As for them, they will score, and what makes me sick is that they will be two sloppy goals from our point of view resulting from bad defending. I don't think Coleman will start this game though as some are suggesting, although he looks good going forward, I don't think he's ready defensively. I think Moyes would rather play a not quite fit Hibbert ahead Coleman. However, I think he'll keep Neville there and start Arteta in the middle with Ossie. I think it'll look something like this: Howard Neville-Distin-Heitinga-Baines Donovan-Ossie-Arteta-Billy Cahill-Saha
  3. haha, In my opinion, we're not along ball team in the main, but I will grant that we do definitely resort to this tactic when things don't seem to be going our way. However, if you look at the recent games where we've played our best football, we've tended not to hoof it forward to much (Distin excluded! ). I know the derby are a different game all together, but I'm hoping that the we can take some of that into the match on Saturday and show them differently.
  4. Was inspired to brave the red forums myself, and from what I can gather they are shit scared of Cahill, hate him with a passion. Please Tim, grab yourself a hat-trick.
  5. Reading that fills me with confidence, if the team & manager (Liverpool) itself think the same thing then they're gonna be in for a shock. COYB!
  6. I was thinking that as I was reading the thread.
  7. btw I know this is rather a futile topic but if you refresh the OS page, the shirts change,(ie different players come up). But Romey you're right, if it was Dustbin, I think I'd make a bid myself
  8. Has anyone else noticed this.. . OS Page It's on the OS, on the eAuction thing they're doing? I would have thought, they could have at least spelt his name right. (ie. Sylvain Distin). Don't know whether the auction price would go up or down because of this??
  9. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, but I can easily imagine that when he (Rooney) heard about Utd's interest he asked to leave (or at least was interested in talking to them) - to become a better footballer, playing Champs League, playing with world class players and winning medals and trophies, what footballer doesn't want that. I can also believe that Moyes didn't want him to go, of course, why would he, but then Moyes was still rather new to the job at the time, and I can believe that Kenwright had a little word in his ear and said, "Listen Moyesy lad, we need to sell him to sort out the club's financial 'crisis'(I use this word loosely), sorry." Whether that is anywhere near the truth of the matter, I couldn't care less. We've done well without, and we'll continue to do so. If it was a choice between Moyes and Rooney, I'd take Moyes any day of the week. Yeah, of course, did you not see him on Sunday? That's most likely when (if at all) he will come back. I think we may just be witnessing Rooney in his prime now. The worst thing I'd like to see though, is an aging, fat, slow used-to-be, kissing his badge on Saturday afternoons. I would perhaps concede that it helped in a financial aspect maybe, but in the main I would say the major factor in that "transformation" would be the manager and what he has done and brings to the club.
  10. I didn't think he was too bad. He looked a lot more composed than Distin has lately. I supposed he hasn't had many games lately and was selected ahead of Distin more for that fact that Distin was injured than anything else. I wasn't over impressed but I also didn't see that much that would give me too much cause for concern. We'll see who starts on Saturday as to whether he did enough to keep his place I suppose.
  11. I wrote a post on another thread, stating that if we can get 6 points from the games in February, than we'll need to average exactly 2 points per game. (if I remember correctly it's 11 games(ie.22 points)) from March till the end of the season. And we'll end up with exactly 60 points. 22 Points from eleven games, is no easy feat, but if we can get seven wins and a draw out of it, that'll do it. (five of those games will be at home, so we should be winning them, then 7 points from the remaining 6 games, which, I think, should be doable.), However, all that is based on getting 6 points from Liverpool(A), United(H), Chelsea(H), Spurs(A), which will not be easy. As for whether 60 points will be enough, I'm not sure, City, Spurs and Villa have all got good teams/squads and they're in a better position that we are points-wise (not sure how their run-ins are though). Also, I'm not convinced, at this point in time that 7th is going to be enough for a European place. But we'll see, if we get twelve points out of the four Feb games, you never know, we could be talking about a Champs league spot come March
  12. We al know that this month's (Feb) fixture list is going to be hard for us - Liverpool, United, Chelsea and then Spurs - Realistically speaking, if we can get at least 6points out of those games, I'd be pretty satisfied. As for the Liverpool game, without Torres and with Gerrard not quite up to form, and us on a bit of a roll, I think we've got a good chance of winning it. Derby games though, are never that predictable, but I'd like to see us trying to at least keep a clean sheet. If we can do that than we've got a good chance of getting something out of the game. Looking forward to this one. COYB
  13. Says in the articles about sorting it out after the world cup. if that's the case I hope he has a nightmare world cup, otherwise his price is likely to go up. I think if we got Donovan for £3mil, it would be a bargain. Would like to see it happen, permanent move I mean, he's impressed with his work rate so far, and I think with a bit more time in the Prem, he could be a really good signing for us.
  14. I wouldn't say we controlled it. Wigan had some decent chances and at times looked the better side. Overall though, I think we deserved the win, 1-0 a fair scoreline.
  15. Gave to to Tim as well, for the same reason. Hard to pick out anyone really, was debating on giving it to Donovan; I'm impressed by his work rate. I think we should keep him, permanently. Senderos did alright too, looked much more composed that Distin.
  16. Not the best second half performance, but after a penalty and a goal ruled out, I think we deserved it. I'm just grateful for the three points.
  17. not a bad half, quite entertaining, we should have ahd a pen, but Wigan have looked dangerous at times. think i may retract my 6-0 prediction and go for something more conservative 1-0 to us.
  18. Should have been a penalty there :/
  19. sometimes, but usually after a few seconds it comes on. you can try either streaming in through VLC player, or try the web version (http://www.magedtv.net/ch1.html - you need to use Internet Explorer for this.)
  20. sopcast link,good stream & English sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/33595
  21. Running slow here on my side aswell.
  22. links for this game look thin on the ground.
  23. I'm going for 6-0 to us. Phil Neville & Heitinga to score. Donovan, Cahill, Saha with the others.
