I wouldnā€™t have called that debate balanced in the slightest, but for what itā€™s worth, haf at least acknowledged that Lukaku was veryĀ talented and single-handedly won us some matches, which is far more than you can say about pete0 and palfyā€™s assessments of Gana. I canā€™t believe Iā€™m saying this but I really do think this discussion is more baffling.

Great when that happens. Slightly different but I was in a queue at a checkout recently wearing something Everton based when a "lad" (twenties probably) wearing a Liverpool cap lined up behind me. Plain from his appearance that he had special needs of some sort but he started talking to me about FA Cup finals from '84 onwards; he knew the exact starting elevens, scorers and timings of goals right up until '89, every incident, backgrounds and league positions, the lot. His opening line was, "Bloody Norman Whiteside costing you a treble in 1985, you should've had a longer break after the Vienna game."
I could hardly get a word in; he could probably have given me the attendances and named them all if we'd been in a longer line. Heard about and seen on TV "autistic savants" (which I assumed he must be) before but the first time I've encountered one, lovely lad.

    Yeah I agree.
Gana was piss poor today. Awful. Worst game I've seen for him that I can remember. But he shouldn't be the guy who is further up the pitch, looking to play those splitting passes. Get him back, infront of the back 4, breaking up play and giving simple passes to the more technical, creative players.

Unfortunately, so far this season, we are the sole reason for us dropping points...from poor marking, red cards, poor decisions etc. We have well and truly shot ourselves in the foot.
Today was another under par effort but with more individual errors that made it far too difficult to get anything from this game.
I worried before hand when I seenĀ the back 4. From an age and experience point of view, it's not ideal. Throw in Holgate having a mare, and Pickford gifting a goal...unreal.
I know peeps won't be feeling it, but there are some positive signs out there. Take away the individual errors, poor judgements etc and you find we are playing a better style of football with more purpose. But maybe we are trying to force it too much, and not being smart enough with the play.
Gutted. But not surprised to be honest.

We are crying out for a midfielder playmaker, I feel for Gueye because he findsĀ space in the middle of the park because no one else does, which means he receives the ball a lot.Ā Then heā€™s expected to find a killer pass which just isnā€™t in his repertoire. Wait and see, once Gomes is fit Gueye can go back to being anti-football and breakingĀ up the play, what he should be doing.Ā

So pissed off with a lot of this today.
Far too sloppy a lot of the time. There's no one out there to guide this very young defence, and it tells. Someone to grab it by the bollocks and restore order.
Schneiderlin seemed to go into his shell. And one of him or Gana had to go. Gana was doing my nut in, looks so lethargic and giving the ball away far too much.
Was going to say to maybe take Tosun off and have DCL as the striker, seen so he has been scoring. Thinking Lookman for Tosun. But the apparent change may be working anyway.
Poor first half from us. Sad to see too many traits still out there.

Foook me, that was some read!
Anyway, been meaning to come on for a few days to say I think he's going...and not being in the Cup squad tonight makesĀ it more likely to me.
I'm not into all the other stuff you guys have repeated numerous times on the previous pages. My only 'opinion' on that is how much social media has sucked us into a unhealthy pattern of judgement.
BUT...what I really wanted to say is that I absolutely love how Everton are playing this. And I think we are doing Premiership clubs a huge potential favour with our stance. Foreign clubs are ripping us off for their players, and then expecting to get ours for knock down rates.
We are levelling the playing field. You want our boy so bad? Pay for him. And we'll hold on until you do pay.
I think we win either way.
