If he still had a few years left on his contract then it would be different, he looks our best player at times. But if he's not signing a new contract then we have to cash in now. I assumed that when he went off against Villa we'd be stuck with him until Jan at least.

State of that bench

Doesn't he play predominantly on the left wing? Bit strange loaning 2 left wingers when we already have McNeil. Loaning a right winger would have made our squad much more balanced surely.
Anyway, welcome Jack

I'll take a draw now...

Should be 4-1

Imagine if we had a fit DCL on the pitch, or even an unfit one. If there's still a risk of an injury flaring up again, I understand it. But if he's healed and just not match fit then get him on the bloody pitch!
-
With the fees mentioned, coupled with his age - If we we ever actually in for him then I would truly worry for our future of recruitment.

I wanna know why Maupay has been given a shirt number...

Normally this would be a signing that everyone can get behind, but surely any money we do have should be going straight into the first team?

Apologies, mate. Pretty sure I meant it in jest but I was very, very hungover. Either way, I fully deserve the dick head

So you mention we escaped relegation by “luck” and then say you would rather take a “chance” on the kids.
so what is it? Are you favouring relying on luck of not cos you aren’t making sense?
Joe royle got in the team at 16…. Rooney did too. Talking about two “men” at boys ages. To my knowledge we don’t have a Joe royle or a Wayne Rooney in the reserves. Nearest we have is Tom cannon who is getting a chance to prove it - so are you saying buy no one? Tried that last year didn’t we…. Worked well didn’t it.
then you mention if we get relegated we will come back up with the kids?! Ffs. We have players on 100k a week with no relegation clauses who would be sold at cut price. Put the shovel down ffs.
Kopite, don't bite.

Surprised we can afford 3.5m for a loan that'll go straight into the losses column tbh

Seems like the best outcome for all parties

Yep, I can't argue with you there. I guess it comes down to principles v pragmatism and if signing him got us to 40 points by March I think I could live with it but I do understand and fully respect the opinions of those who couldn't.
We need everyone to be on the same page this year, we need to fans to all be united and get behind the team 100%. You're going to get sections of the supporters booing our own players from the get go. Whilst I agree with both sides, this would undoubtedly split the fan base and that's exactly what we don't need right now. Steer clear for me.

I was going to say I'd take him back on loan if Pochettino doesn't fancy him... But 325k a week! Blimey, we couldn't even pay half of that.

I hope this isn't the case because it will mean the board aren't confident that we haven't breached FFP.
How can we be? We've been told by the prem that we haven't, but until this independent commission clears us then how can we know for sure?

“Our contract with Dele Alli is over. He was a player we were very excited about when he came. He won’t come back. We didn’t get what we expected from him. I hope he recovers as a human.”
Actually feel for the guy, mental health issues are obviously hard to recover from, but for it to be plastered over shitrags every day must destroy you.
On the other hand, if he knows he's not up for it anymore then he's just knowingly stealing £5.2m from us over the next 12 months knowing he'll never have to kick a ball...
-
I think that because FFP breach accusations are still ongoing and not resolved, the club don't even truly know 100% how much they have to spend...

I understand your point but Coady is also reliable (well, a lot more reliable than Holgate, Keane and Godfrey) and he is a leader. I rate him above all three of those and for £4.5 million I think he is a solid back up. The only way I am happy with this now is if Keane and Holgate also leave (I’ll give Godfrey the long covid benefit of the doubt for now) and they are replaced with much better quality.
I'd also have him over Holgate, Godfrey and Keane. They'd also probably get more than 4.5m each too. We must have a new strict policy of not signing anyone who's value is only likely to go down or something.
-
Maybe he just didn't want to be a squad player for another year.

Taking off on my flight. Hope to see us as a Premiership team when I land. COYB!!!

Can't be true. We've got 17 left wingers for this season already...
