Forever ton
this bought a sesson ticket if we get him i am goner give it away an call it aday I dont honestly think it would be that bad of a signing. I mean, lets face it, he's no Maradona (or Mouthino for that matter) but hes the kind of player that home fans hate to love and away fans love to hate. He's a Duncan Ferguson type player. Big Dunc was never a 20 a season man but whenever he was on the pitch you know he would have spilt blood and guts for the cause. IMO Alan Smith is in that same mould. He'd bring far more bite to our midfield than any of our current players.

MikeO
Newcastle are hoping to offload Spanish flops Xisco and Jose Enrique as well as Alan Smith and Charles N'Zogbia. ...is this all gonna start up again then ?

dark
I woulden't mind him, better than Nugent or Lita. I looked on his Wiki which told us facts which we already knew, but this little part made it clear that's he's moving away from England. His 2008/09 campaign has been blighted by injury, with Smith not having featured whatsoever in competitive action. Larry McNally, Irish mananger of Finish league leaders FC Haka, has expressed an interest in signing Smith on loan to help him regain fitness. However, Karl Runwick of Sydney United has recently signed a first option loan agreement with Newcastle United to bring Smith down under should he recover from his injury before 17th February. One of the biggest lies of all time. There isn't even a team called Sydney United in our competition. And as if he's moving to Finland. This is just someone mucking around with his wiki page, remember anyone can do it.

MikeO
That's a quality wind-up on Wiki . This bit on the Sydney United site would seem to rule out a move for Smith . Being community based, we welcome all players to the club who are disciplined and prepared to be part of the United team.
kearnss
why go for a shit - had his time player , there is no way he would be a goal machine up front and he wouldnt get a game in midfield, moyes should begin to look for young quality players who have bright futures not ex-decent players who cant get a game for the barcodes!!!
