I'd go along with that...LOTR was a huge achievment...but not the best film ever.

 

You can't have a best film contest without...off the top of my head..

anything with Al Pacino in it will always be considered a great film IMO.

 

Blow is also another quality film.

Coincidently, my missus borrowed green street hooligans off someone yesterday, so I will give it a watch over the BH weekend and let you know my review

 

Think it might be a bit young for me.

I think there are too many good films for very different reasons to pick one

 

I do think the shaw shank redemption is amazing the first time you watch it (and the second), as is Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Blazing Saddles, the green mile, what ever happened to baby jane, The Champ and Young Frankenstein to name a few
