fcssl
Mikeo, as you know, I agree with you on most things... However, having listened to Beatles - Love, I have been well impressed with what George Martin has done with their work. Okay, some of it is a bit hit and miss, but, for me, I find it a little refreshing to hear a Beatles track, changed around a little, updated if you will. I particulary like Something. It is a fantastic song to start with, but with just a few very minor tweaks, it has been made just a little better. Beatles, Love, gets a thumbs up from me... MikeO
Nice Pat. And Andy...I'm biased and bigoted sadly. My dad worked with George Martin for quite a while and never had a good word to say about him (as a person, not as a producer). The feeling was apparently mutual, so out of loyalty to my dad I won't hear a good word said about him .
fcssl
in that case...the album is a load of dross! Should not have been tampered with...never likes him anyway...reminds me of Monty Burns! George Martin Monty Burns (Simpsons)
MikeO
Much appreciated. Talking about parents and classical guitar (which we weren't) my mum went to school with Julian Bream...there I go name dropping again (even though I'd be surprised if many other than you know who I'm talking about ).
