aaron
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory what an album that was, they are nowhere near that level anymore (Linkin park) all their recent stuff has been average at best.

Meteora was just as good IMO. But everything after that has got nowhere near. The last album was absolutely terrible.
MikeO
Josh has just booked a ticket for this in August... http://www.southwestfour.com/ Just for the Saturday, Pendulum being the reason. £69 which is actually not too bad in comparison to some festivals nowadays. rubecula

Ive seen Pendulum 7 times, if he's not seen them before he's in for a massive treat, absolute class live

Going in the deep end, he's going to get his socks blown off.
Sibdane
Linkin Park.... never understood their appeal I agree. They were huge when I was in high school, and I never understood why people obsessed over them. One of the most over-rated bands of my teenage years (in my opinion of course). markjazzbassist

I'm very glad I got out of that phase. Or at least I think I did. :dont know: Edited January 25, 2017 by TonkaRoost markjazzbassist and rubecula
rubecula
I think most people reach a stage in life when they like most types of music. Although there will always be a few songs you can't stand. I have always liked music, genre has never really mattered to me though.

Although there will always be a few songs you can't stand. I have always liked music, genre has never really mattered to me though. I become snobbier with every year and I don't mind at all. I like about 10% of recorded music, and I'm fine with that. and I will tell you how that other 90% sounds like garbage! I'm unabashedly opinionated and don't give a shit what others think about it. music is intensely personal, emotional, spiritual, cognitive, just truly it means so much to me that I just don't accept "ok" when it comes to it. \end rant
MikeO
I agree with you Mark, although I think jazz and soul is largely hateful so we're divided on genre. But you're allowed to be wrong . rubecula

rubecula
Wonderful song choice Mike. My mum's choice is a song I can no longer listen to without crying my eyes out. Oddly it makes me feel better after listening to it.

rubecula
Not sure if I have mentioned it before but I do like a lot of "Traditional" music too. Note the inverted commas on the word. As an example I insert this track:

MikeO
Black Sabbath's last gig ever tomorrow night (unless they feel the need to print a bit more money in the future), sad day. Few bands that can claim to have invented a whole genre as they did, saw them many times back in the day and it was never dull!

Matt
David Maxim Micic Errrrr, can't classify it. But it is huuuuge music. Sometimes classical, sometimes prog, sometimes metal, sometimes.... fuck, I just don't know. Moments of cheese, mixed in with heavy drops. Really no idea how to describe it, but fuck me it's good
rubecula
A track from the first album I bought by Black Sabbath And with the way the world is going to ratshit in a bucket, this one sounds apt
